Chapter 279: Stolen Stuff.

He learned that the Four Directions Sect is in possession of five pathways, the Myriad Phenomenon Sect has three pathways, and the other three have two pathways each, which makes a total of 14 pathways between all of them.

Because of the world barriers, it is very difficult for people of different sects to interact with each other. The only opportunity to do this is on a battlefield, where they are trying to kill each other. So it wasn’t a surprise to Loki when he heard that the five sects didn’t like each other.

But when he heard that the Myriad Phenomenon Sect hates the Four Directions Sect because the Forging Pathway used to belong to the Myriad Phenomenon Sect, but was stolen by the Four Directions Sect, he was shocked.

Even now, when he thinks about it, he can’t help but say, “How do you steal a pathway? Can every pathway be stolen? How did the Myriad Phenomenon fumble so badly?”

If both sects had the same number of pathways, their strength should have been equal. But now that the Four Directions Sect owns five pathways, and the Myriad Phenomenon Sect only owns 3 pathways, there is a glaring disparity in their strength.

So it is not a wonder why the Myriad Sect is so angry. But he doesn’t think the people cultivating the forging pathway in the Four Directions Sect deserve to be picked on.

Not even the possible fact that the Sword Way Sect came from the Forging Pathway is a good enough reason for him to condone the hatred of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect for the forge cultivators of the Four Directions Sect.

But this gave him a lot to think about. However, he couldn’t figure out how it came about that the Sword Way Sect was created by a disciple of the Four Directions Sect.

“But this makes it more surprising that the Sword Way Sect came out of the Four Directions Sect. I just can’t believe that the sect would allow their leeks to leave and start their own sect.”

Apparently, the Sword Way Sect is the youngest of the five sects of the Blessed Heaven World. According to what he saw in the mind of one of the Mind Hunters, the founder of the Sword Way Sect used to be a member of the Four Directions Sect.

To make matters weirder, the founder of the Sword Way Sect also used to be a forger. So if the Forging Pathway still belonged to the Myriad Phenomenon Sect, they could have gained the Sword Pathway and the Killing Pathway of the Sword Way Sect.

This makes it so that the Myriad Phenomenon Sect had lost three pathways, not just one, and they should have owned six pathways if the Forging Pathway hadn’t been stolen.

With six pathways, they would have been the strongest sect in this world, and the second-best would be the Four Directions Sect in possession of four pathways.

It is a beautiful future of what could have been. But this beautiful future was stolen from them.

This made him chuckle and say, “If I were in their shoes, I would be very angry, and I would take out my anger on everyone I could find. That’s probably why the people of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect hate forgers like me so much. They are just taking out their impotent anger on the closest target.”

“But the misfortune of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect aside, I want to know how strong one has to be for them to be able to create a sect. Most importantly, I want to become that strong too.”

If anyone had told him before that it was possible to leave the Four Directions Sect and establish their own sect, he would have thought that it was a joke.

This is because he has heard that there used to be a lot of sects and pathways in the past, but they were destroyed. So if ancient sects failed to survive the culling that reduced the total number of sects to five, how could a new one manage to survive and stand out in this day and age?

But the news that the Sword Way Sect is a new sect has given him hope that it is possible for someone to break out from the confines of the Four Directions Sect and set out on their own. This has made him feel immense admiration for the founder of the Sword Way Sect.

As he thought of this, he said to himself, “If the founder of the Four Directions Sect can do it, so can I.”
