Chapter 1301: Better Than You.

"As you can see, the Heavenly Divine Mountain is secure, and there is nothing you can do to harm us," he said, pointing to the wall of people around the golden mountain.

But Loki sneered and said, "Incorrect. There is nothing I can do to harm you now."

"These people aren’t going to stand guard here forever. I doubt they are that jobless," he said as he surveyed the crowd.

"I will leave for now. But when they leave, I will return. Let’s see how you’ll remain smug then."

In response, White Chain laughed. "Hahaha haha!"

He laughed for a long time, as if he’d just heard the funniest thing ever or won the jackpot. No one else was laughing, though, so whatever was making him laugh had to be an inside joke.

After laughing, he said, "Ragnarok, or Ragnarok. Why must you do this?"

"What is it with you and fighting? Why can’t we just wipe the slate clean and start afresh?"

Shaking his head, he said, "What is your goal anyway? Is it to become a Domain King? You should know that’s impossible, right?"

"I am not the smartest or the strongest among us, yet I’m already giving you so much trouble. And it’s barely been a week since we arrived. We still have one year to grow."

"Take my word for it, in one year you’ll be finished. You can’t do anything to us while we keep growing. In one year, every one of us will have at least one super world. If we work together, establish Domains on each other’s worlds, we could easily destroy you."

"Think about it. There are ten thousand of us, so there will be at least ten thousand super worlds. Even if each of us has one pathway and it is a Minor pathway that can establish a Domain of 0.9 billion square kilometers, that’s going to be total Domain Power of 9,000 billion square kilometers."

"And that’s just the barest minimum. In the case of a six-star genius with six Cosmic Pathways, they could have up to 486,000 billion square kilometers with those ten thousand super worlds."

"And look at you, what do you have? You have nothing!" he said, his voice raised

"You’re good, Ragnarok. But you’re doomed to die and be replaced by your son."

"If you want to survive, stop wasting your time and energy fighting us. Instead, you should work together with us."

"Work together with us and grow stronger with us. That way you can live for as long as possible before you die," he said, urging Loki earnestly.

But instead of taking his offer seriously, Loki laughed and said, "Did I hear that correctly? Even if I choose to work together with you, I still can’t become the Domain King?*

With a scoff, White Chain said, "Of course you can’t become the Domain King. I don’t even think I have a good chance at it, so what more of you."

The more Loki heard, the more amused he became and the more he laughed.

As he laughed, he pointed at White Chain and said, "You? You think you’re better than me?"

White Chain sighed and said, "Here I went on and on talking, but the only part you fixate on is the inconsequential part."

Finally, he decided to answer Loki’s question. He said, as if stating the obvious, "Of course, I’m better than you."

"I know it is a difficult thing to learn and accept, but that’s the truth. What you need to do is move from the reality of your ineptitude and..."

But Loki interrupted him. Laughing harder than ever before, he said, "You have never made one Supreme Metac in all of your life. Not even a Minor Supreme Metac, but you think you’re better than me."

White Chain smiled and said, "That’s what makes me better than you."

"I will never make a Supreme Metac in my entire life. I will have people like you making Supreme Metacs and have your life’s work harvested. Then I will pick and use whatever Supreme Metac I want."

"That’s what it means to be a superior race. It is what it is," he finished, shrugging.

At this point, Loki had stopped laughing. He was in no mood to laugh because what the little shit head said was true.

He nodded and said, admitting it, "You may be right."

White Chain immediately laughed, and he said, "Of course, I’m right."

Then he tried to be serious and not appear like he was enjoying Loki admitting his inferiority as he said, "But the fact that you’re inferior doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your subpar life before you die."

"The position of Domain King may be beyond you, but there is still hope for a great time. I promise you that."

But Loki said, "I am sure of it. If Black Chain I knew were in your place, he would definitely achieve something better than you."

"Do you know why? Because Black Chain never gave up and never settled for second best when he could be the best."

As he spoke, he remembered how Black Chain had schemed against him in the previous timeline with the Life Value Meters. Black Chain had layered many schemes into one, making it nearly impossible for him to escape.

When all the schemes failed, Black Chain kept shouting day and night, slandering the Olympic Sect. The more he recalled the past, the more he realized that throughout all of his memories of Black Chain, there was no moment when Black Chain quit.

He had always hated Black Chain, but now that he killed the Dao Lord of the Four Directions Sect and saw his replacement, he began to admire the great enemy he defeated.

He sighed as he said, "If you had a shred of Black Chain’s personality, you wouldn’t have asked me to give up. And if you asked me to give up, you wouldn’t believe me when I tell you that I’ve given up."
