Chapter 1266: Not Absorbing Matter.

After making sure that no one would overhear his thoughts to the best of his abilities, he began working. One by one, he created a pair of Supreme Metacs. Then he sacrificed one Supreme Metac to the other.

Next, he took the upgraded Supreme Metac and absorbed it into the spark of power, thereby upgrading the 4-D prototype. Finally, he created a new pair of Supreme Metacs and used them to restart the cycle.

As he worked, the 4-D prototype became bigger and bigger. Its consumption of divine crystals was increasing, so Loki dumped some divine crystals into it to keep it running.

While he was feeding the spark of power some divine crystals, he would say, ’Eat my precious. Eat to your heart’s content.’

The spark of power was like a gluttonous child, constantly asking for more food. Even so, he didn’t care that it had an insatiable appetite, especially since it was consuming all of the divine crystals to produce a lot of divinity.

If the spark of power weren’t providing any advantage and were only endlessly eating, he would be more than dissatisfied with it. He would be angry.

But he was getting a boon from all the divine crystals it was eating, so he didn’t mind. Even when the consumption reached a whopping 198 years of divine crystals per year, he didn’t mind.

He had just earned 85,500 years of divine crystals and 10,100 units of celestial gold from Dao Lords. Plus, he could earn a steady 100 years of divine crystals and 10 units of celestial gold every day from the Olympic Medal exchange system. So he could afford this much consumption.

In fact, he was so willing to feed the spark of power that he fed it celestial gold. He felt that it was a good idea since the spark of power was his hidden eleventh godhead, and Dao Lords can feed godheads celestial gold to activate them and make them expand.

’The conversion efficiency with the spark of power is 100%, so it should be able to advance with celestial gold,’ he reasoned as he took some celestial gold and fed it to the spark of power.

Unfortunately, the celestial gold didn’t go into the spark of power. Instead, it fused with the Divine Spark before it could reach the spark of power and went into the Divine Mountain.

’Ah, that’s true,’ he thought, remembering his position as Mountain Lord.

His failure to get celestial gold to the spark of power reminded him that he usually contributed celestial gold to the Divine Mountain while away from it.

He had always thought that being able to contribute celestial gold without being physically present was a great perk. He was especially grateful he could do that in the previous timeline, when Heavenly Eye suddenly appeared at the Divine Mountain trying to usurp his position.

She had done everything she could to usurp him by expanding her Domain and contributing a lot of celestial gold. At that time, he was far from the Divine Mountain, so if he needed to be physically present to donate, he would have had to run back to stop her attempt.

By the time he ran back to the Divine Mountain, she would have contributed enough to remove him from his position. But by contributing celestial gold through the Divine Spark, he could battle her in real time.

But now, he wasn’t so sure this perk was as impeccable as he thought. The more he tried to feed the spark of power with celestial gold and failed, the more frustrated he became.

Eventually, he thought, ’It wouldn’t have worked anyway. The spark of power doesn’t absorb matter. It only absorbs energy, force, and information.’

When he said that, he mostly believed it. He was mostly certain it was true because the spark of power had only absorbed Supreme Metacs and divine crystals.

Divine crystals are made of force and energy. They are crystals of force fields solidified by energy or energy trapped by force fields.

The definition depended on who was asked, with different Dao Lords giving precedence to energy or force. But one thing Dao Lords all agree on is that as divine crystals are consumed in a Supreme Metac, the energy within them is used up while the force they carry is transformed into divinity.

It is also generally agreed that divinity is a basic unit of force that could be used to enhance speed, strength, defense, etc. It is similar to how cells are basic components of life for mortals.

So cells make up mortals’ bodies and determine how strong they are, while divinity makes up Dao Lords’ bodies. Supreme Metacs serve as both the mitochondria and nucleus of Dao Lords. But in Dao Lords, their cells are inside their nucleus.

Loki agreed with this outlook on divine crystals and divinity. He also believed that Supreme Metacs are made of information, energy, and force.

So far, Supreme Metacs and divine crystals are the only things the spark of power would absorb. He had once tried to fuse a Divine Artifact and a damaged celestial artifact to it, but neither could pass through the Divine Spark.

Divine Artifacts and celestial artifacts contain matter. Celestial Artifacts in particular are made of celestial gold, Supreme Metacs, and divine crystals.

The spark of power could absorb Supreme Metacs and divine crystals, but couldn’t absorb a celestial artifact. Therefore, he didn’t think it was far-fetched to say the spark of power couldn’t absorb anything with matter in it, especially the celestial gold.

However, he wished he could test this hypothesis and make sure the spark of power truly had a problem with celestial gold in particular, not just celestial gold used to create a celestial artifact.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t do that, so he had to settle for his hypothesis. However, the idea of feeding the spark of power some celestial gold to help it advance made him begin considering the upgrade path for the 4-D prototype.
