Chapter 1263: It Should Work.

The best way to check his hypothesis was to try to fuse Divine Metacs and Supreme Metacs together within Fenrir. As soon as he had this idea, the Root of Life Metac and the Domain Power Metac popped into his mind.

He had to deactivate some Devourer Metacs and remove them to make space for the Root of Life Metac and the Domain Power Metac, but he didn’t mind. He quickly incorporated them into Fenrir, absorbing them into the star.

As he pushed the two together, he thought, ’It should work.’

’Fenrir is now a godhead, and the spark of power is also a godhead. The spark of power is a hidden godhead, but as a Dao Lord, all of my godheads are parts of my existence.’

He thought, trying to convince himself that it would work, ’Fenrir even has a part of my mind in it, as the spark of power does. Plus, the spark of power now uses Fenrir as an anchor to return to the timeline, so they should be connected now.’

Then, when the two Metacs connected and they didn’t push each other away, his expectations felt validated, and his emotions exploded with hope.

’It will surely work. And since one of them is a Divine Metac while the other is a Core Metac, if it works, it will be conclusive proof that the spark of power is back in business.’

Technically, a Dao Lord could fuse two Divine Metacs in their pathways. It would just be a bit of roundabout work where the Dao Lord would create a new Divine Metac with properties similar to the two Divine Metacs.

That’s something every Dao Lord could do as a result of their mastery and authority over the pathway. So if he tried to fuse two Divine Metacs, there might be some uncertainty about who was really responsible for the fusion.

But if he fused a Core Metac and a Divine Metac, two vastly different Metacs that have nothing in common, it would be conclusive proof that the connection between Fenrir and the spark of power had been restored.

Just then, the Root of Life and the Domain Power Metac joined and became one. The result was the Root of Power Metac.

’Fuck the Gemini race,’ he thought excitedly. ’Let me see them try to copy this.’

The success of the fusion meant that all of the work he did modifying the Domain Power System, trying to fuse it with the Hunting Form Metac, trying to create a new power source for it, and creating the Apostle Supreme Metac was unnecessary. But he didn’t mind.

He couldn’t mind because he got the Apostle Supreme Metac out of it, realized that he could put Supreme Metacs into Fenrir, and because he discovered that he had recovered an advantage that the Gemini race couldn’t copy.

’That’s what I’m talking about. I’m so back,’ he thought, grinning and pumping his fist.

He was so excited and happy that he wanted to shout and roar at the top of his non-existent lungs. But he remembered that he was being watched, so he restricted himself to jubilating inwardly.

However, no matter how he tried to restrict himself, he still couldn’t help laughing out loud. His joy was unprecedented, forcing him to suffer through bouts of laughter.

After celebrating his victory, he finally recovered enough to check the result. He swept his Divine Spirit through the Root of Power, examining every part of it. What he saw was a golden ring.

The Root of Life was a golden seed that grew into a golden plant, while the Domain Power Metac was a white ring. So the product of the fusion of the two was a golden ring.

After examining the functions of the golden ring, he realized that it needed more work. Apparently, the Root of Power Metac could now grant lifespan and Domain Power to his disciples. But it couldn’t replace the position of a Divine Position and Cave Heaven like he was trying to do.

’This is good too. In fact, it is very good now,’ he said, nodding in satisfaction.

’At the very least, I can’t blame the Root of Power for not replacing Divine Positions. After all, neither the Root of Life nor the Domain Power Metac could do it.’

With the Root of Power Metac, he no longer needed the Root of Life Metac, the Hunting Form Metac, and the Domain Power Metac. Since this singular Metac could now do the job of three, he had to praise it.

It was so good that he was no longer sure if he wanted to replace Divine Positions and Cave Heavens in mortals.

At the end of the day, he thought, ’Let me save that idea for another day. This should be enough to defeat all of my competitors.’

’If the Gemini find a way to copy me again, I’ll think about it again. Besides, I don’t have any Rank 5 mortal disciple to test the method on yet. So there is no rush!’

There were other reasons he decided to give up on the idea for now, one of which was that he didn’t know how to proceed from here.

His plan had been to fuse the Domain Power System and the Root of Life System with the world king system as a template. But the spark of power had bypassed this process and created something that he couldn’t beat.

The best idea he had to replace the use of Divine Positions was to create one large artifact similar to the heart of a world and use it to turn his disciples into world kings.

But even with his most lenient estimate, the artifact would need to be a Celestial Artifact. A Divine Artifact just wasn’t capable of turning a mortal into a divine being.

Even if he used himself as the source of power, as he did with the original Domain Power System, he would need to create a divine artifact for every disciple to use in place of the Divine Position, which would be expensive.
