Chapter 1256: Inside The Supreme Metac.

So far, his idea to combine a 2-D Metac and a 3-D Metac looked like it could work. But he had an idea to push this kind of method to the next level.

’How about I create more tiny waves and incorporate them into the bigger wave?’ he asked himself, incredulous.

He thought it was an absurd idea, but he tried it anyway. He created more 2-D versions of the Devouring Ability within the Supreme Metac, tweaking them so they were different.

The 2-D versions had to be different, as the copies of a Divine Metac couldn’t exist within the same Supreme Metac at the same time. But by prioritizing making them different, he butchered their structure, making them far weaker and less competent.

The first 2-D version of the Devouring Ability he created could only devour living things. He called it the Life Devourer Divine Metac.

The second version could only devour metals. The third could devour non-metals like sand. The fourth version could only devour air. The fifth version could only devour liquids like water.

So that he could have up to nine different versions, he split the Life Devourer Divine Metac and the other versions into Flesh Devourer, Bones Devourer, Blood Devourer, Plant Devourer, Air Devourer, Ocean Devourer, Copper Devourer, Silver Devourer, Gold Devourer, Iron Devourer, etc.

He got up to 12 different 2-D versions of the Devouring Divine Ability before stopping and activating all of them at the same time. He activated the 12 of them together with the Main Divine Ability because he was trying to see if there would be an improvement in the constructive interference.

As it turned out, there was indeed an improvement. Each additional Divine Metac created a small wave that, if aligned with the previous small waves and the single large wave of the Devouring Divine Ability, would create a stronger, more efficient wave.

’This is great,’ he thought excitedly. ’It is more than great. It is unprecedentedly excellent.’

He had to give this method such high ratings because not only did it mask the fact that he was activating 2-D Metacs, but it was also mobilizing many units of divinity at the same time while simultaneously allowing him to arrange the structure of all of the units of divinity, thereby making his progression in conversion efficiency much faster.

But the best part was that each additional Divine Metac brought a constant improvement that seemed endless. So as long as there was space in the Devouring Supreme Metac, he could create more 2-D versions of the Devouring Ability and use them to speed up his conversion efficiency.

When he considered the implications, he thought, ’The maximum volume of the Devouring Supreme Metac is 9^3 units. Each 2-D Metac can take up a maximum space of 8 units at Rank 8, so I can have up to 91 2-D Metacs, which I can use to speed up my progress by 91 times.’

His eyes were shining as he thought, ’I was already fast gaining 3% conversion efficiency in 4 weeks, but now I can be 91 times faster. If I become 91 times faster, wouldn’t I be able to gain 1% conversion efficiency every 2.5 hours?’

’Who would have thought that such a speed was possible? Why didn’t I think about this before? Why have I been using one Divine Metac when I can activate more of them at the same time?’ he asked with immense regret.

The answer was that he hadn’t been pressured to look for a better alternative before. It was because he started looking that he found something better, so he had the guardian to thank for this discovery.

In the spirit of trying new things that could be useful, he activated the other kinds of Divine Metacs in the Devouring Supreme Metac and tried to see if they would speed up his progress.

Unfortunately, Divine Metacs that weren’t 2-D versions of the Devouring Supreme Metac wouldn’t work. Superimposing the large and small waves resulted in destructive interference.

The small waves of the Divine Metacs were canceling out the large wave of the Devouring Divine Ability. Overall, they didn’t synchronize with the Devouring Divine Metac, making it clear he had activated different Metacs, the opposite of what he set out to do.

Since he couldn’t mask his usage of Divine Metacs and he couldn’t amplify his progression by activating different kinds of Metacs, he had to make a choice. He had to choose between prioritizing faster progress and having different kinds of Metacs in the Supreme Metac.

After thinking about it, he said, "Who needs variety anyway?"

"It is called the Devouring Pathway anyway, not the Elemental Pathway," he said as he began removing Divine Metacs that didn’t align with the Main Devouring Divine Ability.

He removed the Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Wood, Poison, Light, Darkness, and Lightning Metacs. Then he replaced them with 2-D versions of the Devouring Ability.

With this change, the Devouring Supreme Metac looked like this.

When he looked at the list of Divine Metacs, he said, "Come to think of it, some of these 2-D versions of the Devouring Ability correspond to some of the elements I removed.’

’There is wood, wind, fire, water, and earth here. What if I try to prioritize devouring the elements? And what if I add something like the Devouring Body Ability? Wouldn’t that make up for removing the elements?’

He got to work immediately after the idea hit him. First, he created a 2-D version of the Devouring Body Supreme Metac.

The Devouring Body Supreme Metac was one of the new Supreme Metacs he made in the previous timeline. Its main function was to grant him the power of the beings he eats.
