THE GOD EATER
Chapter 1250: Killing The Past.
After reaching his limit of Entropy, his body couldn’t heal, and it didn’t matter if he had an infinite lifespan. So it was the same thing he did to Martial Will and the others. The only difference was that it had happened to him with one attack, whereas he spent a lot of time grinding Martial Will and the others to their limit.
The only good news was that the Devouring Supreme Metac had detached from his existence and successfully entered the River of Time. Unfortunately, the attack wasn’t over.
Apparently, Loki’s existence wasn’t big enough to contain the power of that attack. So the rest of the power of the attack spilled into the River of Time, looking for him.
The force of destruction entered the River of Time as a black, surging river. The black river latched onto every string in the River of Time that contained images of Loki and surged into them, killing the Loki in them.
The colorful strings in the River of Time contained events that had happened. In some of the strings, Loki’s figure appeared once in a while, doing one thing or another. But the force of destruction was quietly erasing every single appearance of Loki in the River of Time.
When Loki within Fenrir saw this, he said, "This is not good."
He had experienced something like this before, so he was somewhat calm. He knew what to do, and he did so calmly, without making mistakes.
To escape from this attack, he controlled the Fenrir to leave the River of Time and return to the physical world. He planned to make another jump into the River of Time, ditching the attack in the past. But when he returned to the physical world, he discovered that it was too late.
He reappeared at the time he made up his mind to fight Heavenly Eye and the others to the death. This was before his true body began the journey to Mount Olympus.
But there was no Loki because the attack had killed him. There was only a pile of ashes where his body should have been.
Apparently, during the time he was descending into the physical world, the force of that attack had arrived before him and killed off this version of Loki.
"Oh, this is officially bad," he thought with a heart full of dread.
He could only reactivate the Rewind Metac and return to the River of Time.
When he returned to the River of Time, he discovered that the black surging river was no more. The River of Time looked serene, with nothing disturbing it. The only difference was that there was no longer any appearance of Loki in the River of Time.
His heart grew cold and heavy when he saw this. But he tried to be hopeful as he said, "No need to panic yet. Maybe there is a version he missed somewhere."
Without a version of himself in the past to latch onto, he would be stuck in the River of Time until he ran out of lifespan and died. With such a fate hanging over his head, he wasn’t willing to give up just yet.
He swam over to the limit of the River of Time he could access. This was the point at which he awakened his Energy Well in the Four Directions Sect.
When he reached the point, he controlled Fenrir to descend to the physical world. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.
Apparently, there was nothing in the physical world for him to descend onto. So Fenrir didn’t descend like it always did. He was now trapped in the River of Time, unable to change the past.
"Is this it? Am I stuck here forever?" he asked, shocked.
He was more shocked than panicked because he didn’t know this was possible. It never crossed his mind that it was possible to kill every version of himself in the past with one attack.
This prompted him to think back to the moment of that attack. The spark of power hadn’t been able to pick up more information about the attack because his existence had overloaded too quickly before he could register the attack.
The only thing he noticed before his consciousness blacked out was that the attack seemed to have been made with the Destruction Dao.
"So that’s what the Dao of Destruction is capable of. I have been enlightened," he said, trying to shake off his stunned state.
Then he turned to the area beyond the moment he awakened his Energy Well and said, "I guess I have no choice this time around."
The last time he ventured beyond this point, he had felt a pain as bad as being ripped apart by the River of Death. Perhaps the pain was even worse.
So he didn’t want to go beyond this limit if he could help it. Unfortunately, he had no choice. He could only grit his teeth and plunge into the beyond.
Back in the upper realm, at the point when the guardian attacked him, his body had just scattered into black ash.
The guardian went over to examine his body. When they saw nothing but ashes, they called out, "Onslaught, one here."
A black humanoid wolf came running over after hearing the call. The movement of his feet on the ground drew the guardian’s attention, and he then looked in the direction of the black humanoid wolf.
The guardian frowned upon seeing the Gemini youngling and said, "Why are you still a youngling? Isn’t Ragnarok dead?"
This situation had become complicated, prompting the guardian to review the attack.
’That should have overloaded his existence instantly, preventing his Supreme Metac from entering the River of Time. But for some reason, he was still able to activate and use Metacs even though he was at the limit of Entropy.’
’What is going on here?’ they asked themselves. ’Isn’t he just a Dao Lord?’
Then they shook their head as they thought, ’No matter. I also killed off every chance for him to create an alternate timeline. So he should die any moment now.’
