Chapter 1164: Smiling And Plotting.

As Wandering Thief laughed, he said to Loki, "I am not fighting you because I have no reason to fight you, and because if I stubbornly decide to fight you, I would lose."

"Besides, there is the fact that your ascension allowed me to appear. I also hate these fools, so the fact that you’re their enemy means that we could be allies. So carry on."

When Loki heard this, his mind, within the spark of power, thought, ’That’s true. I haven’t done anything to offend Wandering Thief in this timeline. It seems it was a good idea to leave Golden Sun alone.’

He had killed Slav, but that had been by mistake. At least, that’s how he made it look.

He had only mistakenly killed every mortal around him in the Central Domain without singling one person out. It would seem Wandering Thief didn’t take the death of that mortal against him, or Wandering Thief didn’t know that the mortal was a reincarnation of one of his brothers.

Either way, Loki was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. He called out to accept, "I accept this gift graciously."

He was actually tempted to destroy the super world completely and make Wandering Thief lose out on the only known Domain Band of Thieves Sect. But he chose to be the bigger man and accept the gift.

However, while he was setting up his Domain, he was thinking, ’I can always stab him in the back in the future.’

’Destroying the super world won’t kill him anyway. It will only weaken him.’

’So what I should do is lure him into a false sense of safety. If I can get close to his true body with this fake friendship, then I can kill him once and for all.’

He was receiving a gift, yet he was already plotting to betray the person offering the gift. This made him grateful that no Dao Lord was being kind to him currently, or he would always have to check his back for betrayal.

While he was thinking, he was also busy expanding his sect. But when he started recruiting people, Wandering Thief sent him a message.

"One word of advice, if I may. Offering lifespan to recruit mortals is not the right way to expand your sect," Wandering Thief said in what would appear to be a sincere manner.

"And if you will offer lifespan, maybe you should start with something smaller, like an extra boost of 10 years of lifespan with every breakthrough. With the way you’re doubling their lifespan every advancement, the mortals will quickly become a burden to you."

"Your model just can’t work. Either you run out of lifespan before you can recruit enough people, or you run out of lifespan because your campaign is too successful and you recruit too many people. So I advise you to reconsider."

Loki only smiled and said, "I know what I am doing."

Wandering Thief also smiled as he said, "That’s good. As long as you know what you’re doing."

He didn’t believe Loki, though. No one believed that Loki was not being impatient and was trying to rush the accomplishment of something that should be done slowly.

As for why Loki was rushing so much, Wandering Thief became sure that he had discovered the truth when a golden mountain appeared in the upper realm, visible to everyone in the Sea of Worlds.

When he saw the golden mountain, Wandering Thief said, "So that’s why he is in a rush. He wants to accumulate power and a foundation in the Sea of Worlds as fast as possible."

"This is probably also his foundation for using lifespan to recruit mortals. I am sure that he will ask any Dao Lord who wants to join his Divine Court to offer a lot of lifespan."

"With the monopoly that he possesses over a Divine Mountain, he kind of has the right to ask for anything. If I were him, I might make demands too."

"Of course, I like tangible things that are shiny far more than lifespan. So I would have asked for trinkets and artifacts," he said to himself with a chuckle.

But then he heard the figure on top of the golden mountain say, "Welcome, one and all, to Olympus."

"I decided to call this mountain Olympus because I hope for it to grow to become the highest mountain in the Domain and because only the best and strongest get to join this Divine Mountain."

"As the Mountain Lord, I was given two chances. I could decide who gets to join my Divine Mountain, or I could let the people decide with their strength. I chose the latter."

"If you think you have what it takes to take my Divine Spark and replace me, feel free to join my Divine Court and challenge me. You’re all welcome to try."

Loki continued to say more things, but Wandering Thief had enough to know that his initial conjecture about Loki’s plans was wrong. However, being proven wrong in this manner only made him laugh harder.

As he laughed, he said, "Mount Olympus, is it? What a name!"

"It is hard to imagine how a junior established a Divine Mountain before me and so quickly, too. It seems I need to get busy too so as not to be left behind."

In the upper realm, after introducing his Divine Mountain, Loki withdrew the avatar he made through the Blessed Heaven World. Next, used the Divine Mountain to create an avatar that he sent down into the lower realm.

This avatar was different from the normal avatars in that it bypassed the restrictions of divine constellations of super worlds on how much Domain Power he can mobilize through them. Instead, the avatar will get to use the Domain Power of his true body.

As for the possibility of more people ganging up on him trying to kill him because of this Mountain Lord perk, which is the main reason he didn’t want to use it in the previous timeline, it is still there.
