Chapter 401: Joker’s Strength

Bam!

The light energy clashed with a small brown sphere. The clash was actually even more impactful than the clash between the light energy and the three head instructors.

"!!!" All of them couldn’t help but widen their eyes. Even the students and soldiers couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

What actually withstood the powerful beam was not a sphere. It was a single card.

The light beam and the card exhausted their energy at the same time. In the end, the beam vanished while the card started to drop.

Before it could fall, a man appeared next to the card and caught it between his fingers.

The man had long brown hair and a pair of green eyes. He was wearing a white shirt, a black suit and black pants, along with a round hat.

The man wore a white mask that covered his eyes. "It looks like I am not late."

A smile couldn’t help but spread across Supervisor Jacob’s face. He hurriedly saluted and reported out loud, "This beast wave is the last one. Everything is being taken care of, sir!"

This man needed no introduction. After all, there were only seven people in this world with such power.

He was one of the seven stars, Joker.

"Raaa!" A few beasts were leaping into the air, trying to drag Joker down.

However, multiple cards suddenly flew from the side as though they had just caught up with him. They sliced all the beasts into pieces before hovering around Joker.

Auric couldn’t help but look at Joker intensely. After getting a lot of clues, he thought that Joker might be his father.

However, he could only see brown-colored energy from his body. It indicated that Joker possessed an earth element, not a unique element.

’Is he... maybe tricking my eyes again?’ Auric still remembered the fact that he failed to see his mother’s disguise. He thought his mother was Rank 3, but the fact that she could come here and even help Gloria meant she was a lot stronger. She had even helped Maya.

A knight suddenly appeared on top of the wall, holding a sword and a massive shield. On its helmet, the symbol of the jack of diamonds was present.

It put its shield in front, creating a translucent screen that acted as the last line of defense.

Meanwhile, the other four appeared around Joker.

"Strengthen! Two pairs." Joker snapped his fingers.

The four knights unleashed a powerful burst of energy all of a sudden. They flew forward and struck the beam at the same time, combining their attack to cut down the light beam.

"!!!" The ape was startled. Joker unleashed more power than it originally sensed.

The four knights dispersed the beam, and the jack of diamonds stopped the shock wave.

After that, Joker snapped his fingers again. "Draw!"

"This time, the four queens were actually drawn at the same time. As I said, I’m feeling lucky today." Joker smiled. He ignored the king since it had no use in front of the four queens.

The queens were not knights. They looked like witches.

As soon as they were summoned, they released their energy and raised their wands.

"!!!" Auric couldn’t help but drop his jaw as he raised his head.

"Auric?" Ellia and the others were confused since Auric was suddenly distracted.

They followed his gaze, only to be shocked as well.

A small rock formed at first, but that rock expanded at such a fast speed that it turned into a mountain in the blink of an eye.

Yes, a mountain had formed and started falling from the sky.

Joker raised his head. Multiple light spheres formed and condensed perfectly. He hurriedly drew his next cards.

The light caused the world to flicker a few times before it shot out a small but powerful beam.

Joker snapped his fingers.

Four cards flew into the sky and formed a star symbol.

"Full House."

A massive barrier formed and blocked the beam.

This beam suddenly expanded and turned into a massive explosion. Even though it exploded in the sky, its burst caused the ground to tremble violently. Some buildings actually collapsed because of the tremor.

"..." Supervisor Jacob was a bit speechless. "Shouldn’t we feel lucky that the ape didn’t get serious when it was fighting us?"

The other two head instructors just looked away, as they didn’t want to admit it.
