Chapter 1515: The Battle Draws Near

  • Next Chapter

Morning.

Maybe it’s this time period, after all, within the Blood Pit Fortress, you can still make judgments through certain alchemy machines.

In the Abyss, the sky never changes.

Under the murky dark red sky of the first layer of the Abyss, the colossal metal gate of Blood Pit Fortress slowly rises with a dull roar.

Behind the gate, rather than chaotic clamor, there is a suffocating, poised silence.

On the scorched plain in front of the fortress, an orderly army formation has lined up, casting a shadow of steel and willpower over the tainted earth, layered distinctly from above.

These formations are clearly composed of different individuals.

First come the Night Watchers, who are the core and keystones of the formation.

Equipped with uniform silver-gray enchanted armor, lined with energy-absorbing, lightweight black battle suits, resembling a cold iron jungle.

Every banner stands strikingly—on a black background, a golden torch burns brightly, the eternal symbol of the Night Watchers.

Based on different battle sequences, the flag edges are adorned with subtle symbols.

The crossed tower shields symbolize Shield Guards, the sharp arrows represent Rangers, or the stars emblem indicates the command sequence.

At their current Level Ten overall level, these details actually don’t matter much.

But these have been passed down from over a decade ago.

Also meant to serve as a remembrance.

They stand silently, eyes sharp like eagles beneath the faceplates, the data panels flowing with tactical information in their vision, actions synchronized and emitting an efficient, precise, resilient collective will.

They are the sharpest sword and the most solid shield of Order.

Apart from the Night Watchers, naturally, there are those earliest Avengers to arrive at Blood Pit Fortress, these remain a continuous source of combat power for the fortress.

They surround the two wings and front of the Night Watchers’ formation, like a ring of lava burning with cold flames.

The origins of these Warriors are unimaginably complex.

Horn-less Minotaurs, humanoid races branded with Abyss slave marks on their faces, Wood Elves carrying damaged elf longbows, Dwarves with charred skin, and even Mutants with limbs partially weaponized…

Their equipment is diverse, from high-quality enchanted weapons to coarse bone blades tempered by wars, from complete plate armor to patchwork protective gear made from scrap plates.

They are shrouded in an intense aura of bloodshed, profound hatred, and a fury suppressed for too long and yearning for release.

It is this stagnant-breaking existence known as Blood Pit Fortress that attracted and united these Avengers scattered across the layers of the Abyss, struggling in despair, providing them a new target and a hint of vengeful “vitality.”

They are no longer a scattered army, but under the common blood feud and alignment with the Night Watchers’ goals, they have bonded into a frenzy force capable of ripping through Demon lines.

In their eyes burns not excitement, but a cold resolution to burn every demon in sight to ashes.

As for killing Demons.

They have become accustomed to it; it’s just a part of life.

The largest group, ironically, is those scattered units which include mercenaries, and teams with various purposes coming to the fortress.

Of course, their purposes mainly also relate to demons.

They come from various worlds in a mixed bunch, but they all understand the rules, rarely causing any trouble at Blood Pit Fortress, yet contribute significantly in crucial moments.

They are dispersed at the rear and flanks of the formation, creating a more loose array.

The mercenaries’ emblems hail from mercenary corps from all corners of the Star Realm, their equipment styles starkly distinct, eyes mingling with a desire for wealth, wariness of the Abyss, and curiosity for this unprecedented active strike.

And there are scattered adventurers, of course not just from the world, but also adventurers from other worlds.

Most appear more excited, many being new faces venturing deep into the Abyss for the first time, faces filled with tension and eager anticipation, equipment relatively exquisite but lacking unified coordination.

Though the Night Watchers hold ultimate command, able to deploy them for missions, they maintain considerable autonomy.

At this moment, they hold their weapons tightly, whispering among themselves, awaiting the charge signal, fighting for gold coins, honor, or pure demon-slaying pleasure.

The air is thick with oil, cold iron, sulphur dust, and an atmosphere of “battle intentions.”

The massive body of the Iron Flower Structure slowly adjusts its posture above the fortress, steel petals slightly opening, the internal energy core emitting a low hum, like a war giant beast about to awaken.

The elegant figure of the Sky Dragon circles low, crystal-like scales refracting the tainted skylight, casting healing radiance of relief.

For this important active strike, she must naturally be present.

At the forefront of the formation, Raelia’s figure stands conspicuously.

She isn’t wearing ornate commander armor, but instead a Night Watcher elite combat suit reinforced at joints and critical areas, her crimson hair wildly dancing in the Abyss’s foul winds.

She stands on a temporary steel platform raised by the roots of the Iron Flower Structure, her voice amplified through a sound array, exploding like rumbling thunder in every warrior’s ears, overpowering the Abyss’s endless background howl.

“Warriors! Look at this land tainted beneath our feet! Look at this filthy sky!”

She suddenly waves her hand, pointing to the scorched wasteland outside the fortress, soaked in demon-blood and scattered with countless Order race skeletons, her voice filled with profound hatred and power.
