Chapter 1465: Chapter 941: End of the Hunt (2)

That was no longer the roar of a beast, but a heartbreaking wail from the abyss of hell.

The lethal poison of the Blood-Burning Thorn erupted fiercely behind the densely nerve-rich eye sockets, like lava pouring into the brain, burning every nerve fiber.

The remaining right eye was instantly filled with cobweb-like bloodshot veins, completely submerged by a frenzied scarlet, gleaming with a fierce light of a predator ready to devour.

It madly shook its head, clawing at the arrows with its sharp, knife-like claws, but only added fuel to the fire of its pain.

The steel cable snapped inch by inch under its frantic struggle, like a rotten rope, emitting a piercing metallic wail.

The excruciating pain and poison completely ignited all the ferocity and desire for destruction within the predator, burning away its remaining sanity.

Its only remaining right eye locked onto the tiny figure that brought it endless pain—Legolas.

It had finally found him.

A giant beast that had grown to such size did not rely solely on wild instincts but also possessed the wisdom unique to predators. Although it did not match the intelligence of sentient life, it had its own hunting instincts and cunning.

It clearly understood that the instigator of all this was the tiny creature before it, as insignificant as an ant.

What a weak creature dared to provoke it so, bringing such deep pain and humiliation.

Pain and rage swelled and erupted like a volcano.

At this moment, Legolas, in its eyes, was the source of all suffering, a mortal enemy that must be torn to shreds, needing to be crushed in the most brutal manner.

It charged desperately, its massive body bursting with speed beyond limits, like an out-of-control steel war chariot.

The saplings, as thick as a bowl’s edge, were snapped in half, emitting a crisp wail; rocks were easily crushed, turned to powder; the ground trembled violently under its feet, leaving deep claw marks.

Legolas turned and ran, sprinting for his life along the pre-set "escape route" towards the cliff.

His form was like the wind, Elven agility pushed to the extreme in a life-and-death moment, each step taken on the edge between life and death.

Using strong giant trees and jagged rocks for cover, he performed a thrilling and breathtaking zigzag evasion.

Behind him drew ever closer, a palpable storm of blood and sulfur, the air thick with the scent of destruction, suffocating.

He could clearly hear the heavy, thunderous footsteps and the painful, frenzied breaths like a bellows about to break.

The painful breath was hot and foul, like a heatwave striking his back, foretelling death.

Only ten steps away from the cliff, the abyss was before his eyes.

Legolas could even feel the scorching, foul breath full of blood and iron from the monster behind him.

The enormous shadow had completely enshrouded him, the chill of death piercing to his bones.

The monster’s sole remaining right eye locked onto his back, its gigantic mouth brimming with sinister teeth and lined with ferocious bone spikes, charged with an insane mutual destruction intent, using its last strength to leap at him like a mountain falling from the sky.

The chill of death was bone-numbing, as if freezing time.

At this critical life-and-death moment, Legolas seemed to grow eyes on his back, abruptly executing a clean and nimble stop-and-spin.

The motion was as fluid as if practiced a thousand times, without the slightest hesitation.

He ignored the nauseating breath of death rushing towards him and the colossal mouth about to engulf everything, his feet planted like nails on the already severely loosened rocks at the edge of the cliff, standing as firm as a rock.

Time seemed to pause.

The world’s noise vanished in an instant, leaving only the monster’s enraged and pained, wide-open right eye, bloodshot and shimmering with madness and destruction.

Time seemed to stretch.

The monster’s lunge, his spinning motion, the fingers notching the arrow, the taut bowstring... everything turned exceptionally slow and impossibly clear.

Will seemed to condense and transcend the physical flow of time between them.

The magic power, suppressed to its limit by the rules within him, was forcibly ignited by strong spirit at this moment, like a faint yet unyielding flame, instantly illuminating the path of the hunting arrow.

This power surged onto the second, and final, meticulously crafted but non-poisoned armor-piercing arrow, notched on the string. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

Release the string!

The bowstring exploded with a crisp, powerful resonance, the arrow leaving the string.

This arrow was infused with Legolas’s life’s archery mastery, extreme calmness in a life-and-death moment, and a supreme faith in the Hunting Arrow Rule.

It was faster! More accurate! More deadly than the first arrow!

Like a kiss of death.

Thunk!

A sound softer yet more heart-stopping than before, as if piercing the soul, as the arrow hit flesh.

The arrow slid through like a hot knife through butter, unimpeded and supremely precise, piercing through the predator’s only functional right eye pupil.

The immense kinetic energy drove the arrow deep into its cranial cavity, reaching the vital point.

With both eyes struck, especially the brain being precisely devastated by the second arrow, the predator’s massive body seized mid-air, movements suddenly frozen.

That destructive lunge stopped abruptly, the frenzied power dissipating instantaneously.

It let out a half-suppressed, painful whimper full of unwillingness and confusion, its immense inertia drawing it completely out of control, its heavy body falling like a collapsing mountain, inevitably plummeting downward.

With both eyes blind, vision was lost, plunging into eternal darkness and the abyss.
