Chapter 96: Chapter 96: Isn’t It Normal to Communicate with Fluffies Without Barriers?

Facing Hoder’s questioning, Soros shot Liang He a wronged look, blinking innocently. "I’m Soros, Liang He’s new friend."

Friend? Hoder turned to Liang He in surprise. How did she make a new friend in the short time he took to catch up on some sleep?

"I ran into some trouble just now, and Mr. Soros helped me out," Liang He explained.

Hearing this, Hoder breathed a sigh of relief. He knew it. Since when was Liang He so quick to make friends? It turned out to be just wishful thinking on Soros’s part. The title "Mr. Soros" alone made it clear they weren’t very close.

"Oh, then we really do need to thank you, Mr. Soros." Before accompanying Liang He to Greenfield Star, Huo An had specifically warned Hoder not to let any unidentified people get close to her. Thus, the inexplicably appearing Soros was naturally classified by Hoder as a suspicious person. "Did you want some steak, Mr. Soros? Please, don’t be shy. I’ll cut you half so you can take it right to your table."

Feigning generosity, Hoder used a clean plate to portion out half of his steak for Soros.

Soros looked at Hoder holding out the plate of steak, clearly not intending to invite him to sit down and enjoy the meal together. Liang He also remained indifferent. Knowing he couldn’t appear too eager, Soros could only accept it with a polite smile.

"Then I won’t decline. I just came over to say hello, so I won’t disturb your meal any longer."

Liang He had no intention of stopping Hoder’s behavior. Unless absolutely necessary, she didn’t want to deal with socializing. As for Soros helping her out, she had already thanked him, and Hoder had treated him to some steak. In Liang He’s view, that was enough to express their gratitude.

"It seems I really can’t leave you alone. You might get abducted without even realizing it," Hoder muttered while gnawing on his steak. He sounded exactly like an overanxious old father worrying about his daughter being kidnapped by bad men, making Liang He shake her head in amusement.

When had she ever acted so naive and gullible? Besides, if she really ran into bad guys, it was hard to say who would be the unlucky one. Sending someone flying with a single punch was ridiculously easy for Liang He.

"Mhm, okay, got it. Eat more." Liang He tried to block Hoder’s nagging mouth with food, stuffing his cheeks so full that he was rendered completely speechless.

"AWOO~"

After polishing off a huge basin of beef, the Platinum Giant Lion was fed some vegetables and fruits by Liang He. Once he had licked everything completely clean, the beast smacked his lips and began pestering Liang He for yogurt.

"AWOO~"

The Platinum Giant Lion pushed his bowl, which was so clean it didn’t even need washing, toward Liang He. His meaning was obvious. He was showing off how good he was and implying that asking for some yogurt wasn’t too much.

"What is he doing?" Hoder didn’t quite understand the Platinum Giant Lion’s needs, but Liang He could always quickly grasp what the fluffy creatures meant.

"He wants to drink yogurt." Looking around, Liang He waved at a passing server. "Hello, could you bring me a large glass of yogurt? My lion wants some. I’ll also need a clean plate."

A lion drinking yogurt? It was the server’s first time hearing such a request. However, every animal had its own habits. Since Liang He was the Platinum Giant Lion’s breeder, there shouldn’t be any issue.

"Understood, I will prepare it for you right away."

Seeing Liang He summon the server, the Platinum Giant Lion didn’t rush her. He squatted obediently to the side, waiting for his yogurt. Soon, the server brought over a large glass of yogurt and a clean plate. Liang He thanked him, then began pouring the yogurt into the plate.

"AWOO~"

Catching the scent of the yogurt, the Platinum Giant Lion grew impatient, but Liang He only poured him a little bit.

"Different brands of yogurt taste slightly different. Try it first." Liang He placed the plate of yogurt in front of the Platinum Giant Lion to let him taste it.

"AWOO!"

The Platinum Giant Lion didn’t mind the small portion at all. He obediently licked at it, and once he confirmed it was a flavor he liked, he polished it off in just a few bites.

"He can actually understand what you say?" The server was visibly astonished and curious about the seamless communication between Liang He and the Platinum Giant Lion.

"Of course. Isn’t that normal?"

Liang He’s matter-of-fact tone made the server question his own sanity. Since when was communicating with animals such a commonplace occurrence? He wondered if he had simply fallen behind the times. Had someone invented a smart device for communicating with animals?

"Ahem, we won’t be needing anything else for now. Thank you." Hoder started shooing people away again. His main concern was that if the server asked too many questions, it might arouse Liang He’s suspicions.

"Oh? Alright, sorry to intrude. If you two need anything else, just let me know."

Finally free of weird stares, Liang He let out a sigh of relief. She continued adding yogurt for the Platinum Giant Lion until the entire large glass was licked clean, bringing the meal to an end.

Back in her suite, Liang He washed up briefly and threw herself onto the bed, completely devoid of energy to move. "I can finally get some good rest."

The Platinum Giant Lion refused to stay in the living room by himself. Left with no other choice, Liang He could only ask the hotel for permission to let the massive beast squeeze into the same bed with her.

"AWOO~"

Usually, the spot beside Liang He was occupied by the Mengji Snow Leopard and the others. This was the first time the Platinum Giant Lion had gotten so close to her. Overjoyed, he continuously nuzzled and acted cute with her.

"Alright, get some sleep. We have to wake up early tomorrow for the training conference."

After petting his fluffy fur for a while, Liang He’s eyelids grew heavy. Unable to fight off the drowsiness, she gradually fell asleep using the Platinum Giant Lion’s belly as a pillow. Listening to her steady breathing, the Platinum Giant Lion felt incredibly safe and secure, soon drifting into dreamland alongside her.

The first day of the interstellar breeders’ training and exchange conference mainly consisted of a kickoff ceremony, followed by a meet-and-greet.

"The kickoff ceremony starts at ten o’clock, and a luncheon will be provided. Since I can’t bring Cyril along, I’ll have to trouble you to keep an eye on him," Liang He said. She had inquired in advance. While small animals were fine, massive beasts like the Platinum Giant Lion still posed an uncontrollable risk even with a breeder present. For safety reasons, Liang He couldn’t bring him to the training.

"Understood. Don’t worry, I’ve got this."

Although Evolutionary Beastmen generally disowned all ties of kinship, Hoder had fortunately earned some special treatment after becoming a familiar face through Liang He’s training. At the very least, helping to watch over the Platinum Giant Lion in this situation wouldn’t be a problem. Even if something did happen, they were in the same hotel, so Liang He could rush back in time.

"Good." Right now, Liang He was actually quite grateful that Hoder had shamelessly insisted on following her to Greenfield Star. Otherwise, she really wouldn’t know what to do with the Platinum Giant Lion. "Cyril, you have to be good and listen to Hoder. I’ll come back for you guys as soon as I’m done, okay?"

"AWOO!"

The Platinum Giant Lion reluctantly bid Liang He farewell. Anyone who didn’t know better would think they were parting ways for a very long time.

Standing to the side, Hoder thought rather wickedly that if Cedriel and the others saw this scene, they would probably be drowning in jealousy.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere back at the Tianyao Star Protection Zone was indeed rather grave.
