Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Among the Three, He Is the Most Superfluous

Following Liang He’s command, the Platinum Giant Lion lunged fiercely at the herd of cattle. His leonine eyes locked intensely onto one of them before he leaped onto its back, biting down with a death grip.

"MOO!"

The bitten cow struggled madly, desperately trying to shake the Platinum Giant Lion off. However, the predator’s teeth were deeply embedded in its flesh. Every struggle only drove the fangs an inch deeper, dragging the prey one step closer to death.

"How did the Platinum Giant Lion become so fierce all of a sudden?!"

"It’s the exact opposite of how he blindly charged around when catching the chicken earlier. He locked onto a single target, making it much easier to strike."

"And he’s biting down without letting go. No hesitation, no doubt. This cow is dead meat."

The crowd witnessed the drastic change in the Platinum Giant Lion’s hunting style. They couldn’t understand why he seemed as if something had suddenly clicked in his brain, making him look like a completely different beast compared to his clumsy attempts earlier. Meanwhile, the cow’s attempts to buck the Platinum Giant Lion with its horns were clearly futile. It was already completely exhausted.

"MOO!"

Unable to sustain its strength and crushed by the massive weight of the Platinum Giant Lion, the cow finally collapsed, unable to rise. In that moment, its fate was sealed. It wanted to call for help, but its companions had long since scattered. None dared to approach, terrified of becoming the Platinum Giant Lion’s next target.

"ROAR!"

Opening his jaws wide, the Platinum Giant Lion viciously bit into the cow’s neck. The main artery was instantly punctured, causing blood to gush relentlessly. Soon, the cow stopped struggling completely.

"To think I’d be lucky enough to witness a fierce beast’s exhilarating hunt with my own eyes... Oh crap, I forgot to record it!"

"Record it? In your dreams! But the Platinum Giant Lion is truly incredible! That was basically a perfect hunt!"

"Not a single wasted movement. How in the world did he do that?! Miss Liang He, what exactly did you say to him just now?"

As the Platinum Giant Lion dragged his spoils back, the crowd swarmed around Liang He. They were intensely curious about how exactly she had communicated with the Platinum Giant Lion to instantly elevate his hunting skills.

Surrounded so tightly that not even a drop of water could slip through, an exasperated Liang He just wanted to find a gap to squeeze out. Fortunately, the man who had spoken up for the Platinum Giant Lion earlier ended up pulling her out of the encirclement.

Taking advantage of the opening, the two hastily fled. Seeing this, the Platinum Giant Lion quickly dropped his fresh kill and chased after them, PANTING heavily. He left the bewildered crowd behind along with the blood-soaked cow lying on the ground.

"Hey?! Miss Liang He, your cow!"

The staff members wanted to chase down Liang He and tell her to take the cow away, but they disappeared so fast that not even a lion’s tail—let alone a person’s shadow—could be seen.

"Phew... Dodged a bullet there." The man was gasping for air, clearly someone who rarely exercised. In contrast, Liang He’s breathing was steady and her expression normal, as relaxed and unbothered as if she had merely been out for a leisurely stroll.

"Thank you for earlier." Liang He was referring to how he had spoken up for the Platinum Giant Lion and helped her escape the crowd.

"HUFF... PUFF... Don’t mention it!" The man was still bent over, trying to catch his breath. He simply raised one hand and waved at Liang He, signaling for her not to worry about it. "Right, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Soros."

Soros? For some reason, the name reminded Liang He of a type of food back on Blue Star.

"Hello, Mr. Soros. I’m Liang He."

After a brief exchange of names, Liang He noticed the Platinum Giant Lion walking toward them, having fallen a step behind. The cow was nowhere to be seen, but the chicken... Good news. The chicken was still in her hand.

"ROAR~"

The moment he saw Liang He, the Platinum Giant Lion wanted to cuddle, but to his surprise, she pushed him a meter away in disgust.

"Cyril, I need to wash the bloodstains off your fur first. Don’t go rubbing against things."

Unable to suppress her neat freak tendencies any longer, Liang He led the Platinum Giant Lion straight to an outdoor sink. She pulled out specialized wet wipes from her bag and began cleaning his fur.

A staff member, who had been stressing over how to find her to process the cow for the Platinum Giant Lion’s dinner, rushed over as if he had just seen his own family.

"Miss Liang He, do you need our help processing the prey Cyril caught?"

"Oh? Sure! I’ll leave it to you then. Please use a portion of the steak and beef, along with this chicken, to make Blue Star dishes for me, thank you."

Liang He had assumed she needed to butcher the prey herself since she was the one hunting. Hearing that there was help available, she immediately pawned off the work, handing the chicken over to the staff member while she was at it.

"So the reason Cyril chose chickens and ducks as his initial hunting targets was to prepare food for Miss Liang He?"

Taking the chicken, the staff member watched Liang He treat it as her dinner without a second thought. Recalling the Platinum Giant Lion’s earlier behavior and the image of him pushing the chicken toward her, he suddenly felt a wave of realization. He cast an envious glance back at Liang He, who was still cleaning the Platinum Giant Lion’s fur, and suddenly felt that she deserved this.

As a hunting ground employee, he had seen too many Breeders bringing all sorts of Beast Beasts to hunt, but the bond between Liang He and the Platinum Giant Lion was entirely unique. She was also the only person who would wipe the blood off her Beast Beast.

"Alright, finally clean." After wiping away the last speck of blood, Liang He looked at the once-again pristine Platinum Giant Lion. She gave his head a satisfied rub and pulled him into a big hug.

"ROAR~"

Finally able to cuddle with his two-legged beast, the Platinum Giant Lion nuzzled affectionately against Liang He’s neck. He even rested both paws on her shoulders and pressed his leonine head against the top of her head. The people around them turned to look again and again, absolutely astonished.

"Oh my god! She’s actually hugging a lion?"

"This is the first time I’ve ever seen a fierce beast rely so much on a person. Was it raised from birth?"

"You guys are overthinking it. They’ve only known each other for a few days."

Hoder, who had just woken up completely satisfied from his nap, stepped out of his room only to hear various discussions about Liang He and the Platinum Giant Lion. Having hurried over, he couldn’t help but want to grumble upon seeing such a harmonious scene. He had worried for nothing. Sure enough, among the three of them, he was the only superfluous one.

"Liang He!"

Hoder pushed past the crowd and waved at her. Upon spotting him, Liang He gathered up the used wet wipes and tossed them into a nearby trash can. She then turned around, leading the Platinum Giant Lion over to join him.

"How long did I even sleep? You two have already become the hottest topic in the hotel."

Listening to Hoder’s teasing, Liang He rolled her eyes speechlessly. "Cyril hunted our dinner. Are you saying you don’t plan on eating?"

"Don’t do this to me!" At the mere mention of food, Hoder immediately begged for mercy.

However, it wasn’t until they arrived at the restaurant that he realized Liang He had just been pulling his leg.

"So we can actually order food here! You were just scaring me earlier. Liang He, you’re getting mischievous."

Was she getting mischievous? Liang He pondered the thought in confusion. She just felt that being around her fluffy companions allowed her true self to shine through.

"So, you’re not going to eat the steak, beef, and white-cut chicken?"

Hearing this, Hoder glanced at the menu, then thought about the dishes she had just named. He decisively snapped the menu shut and flashed her a sycophantic smile. "I’m eating!"

After the restaurant waiters brought the food to the table, Hoder knew he had made the right choice. Looking at the golden-brown steak, rich with the savory aroma of meat, his mouth watered as he couldn’t wait to dig in.

However, just as Hoder reached out for the piping hot steak, someone interrupted him. Furious, he immediately snapped his head up.

"Who the hell are you?!"
