The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen

Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Nice Pass, Don’t Pass Next Time...
Lan Zhuo’s sudden words gave Hoder a start. He couldn’t fathom a single reason why Huo An would bear to kick Liang He out of the Animal Protection Zone.
"Did Xu Yi really say that?" Hoder couldn’t bring himself to believe it.
Compared to the anxious Hoder, Liang He was quite calm. "Let’s eat first. We can talk after we’re full."
"No, Liang He, how are you still in the mood to eat?" Hoder was deeply puzzled, but upon second thought, it made sense.
She only knew she was taking care of fierce beasts; she had no idea they were SSS-level Beastmen. Naturally, she didn’t realize her own importance, much less what she meant to the SSS-level Beastmen. But even if she didn’t know, could Xu Yi be unaware? Was Huo An ignorant? Were those higher-ups in the Federation clueless, too?
"No way, I need to ask my uncle what’s going on!" It seemed that without a clear answer today, Hoder wouldn’t have the peace of mind to eat. If Liang He really left, he wouldn’t be able to enjoy her delicious cooking anymore. He could tell the difference between having one good meal now and eating well every single day; he knew his priorities.
"What is it?" Huo An, who was busy with work, felt an inexplicable headache the moment he saw his silly nephew.
"Uncle, Lan Zhuo told us that Liang He is leaving the Animal Protection Zone. Is it true or false? This is absolutely unacceptable!"
Seeing Hoder’s frantic expression, Huo An’s headache worsened. "Xu Yi, what exactly did you say to Lan Zhuo?"
Xu Yi happened to be reporting on his work to Huo An. Hearing Hoder’s words, he hurriedly explained, "I never said Liang He had to leave the Animal Protection Zone. I said she needs to attend the interstellar breeder training and exchange conference, and pick up her interstellar breeder professional certificate while she’s at it."
When Liang He initially interviewed, she only possessed a Blue Star Breeder certificate. However, as a key Animal Protection Zone in the Federation, Huo An’s facility had the authority to directly evaluate and issue the interstellar version of the certificate. Thus, he hadn’t rejected Liang He over it back then. Now that Liang He had passed her probationary period and needed to officially sign a contract, the interstellar certificate was essential. It would also prevent anyone with ulterior motives from using the lack of credentials against her.
"Ah? So that’s how it is." Hearing this, Hoder immediately sighed in relief. He scratched his hair awkwardly and shot a speechless side-glance at Lan Zhuo. He wondered why this guy was spreading false information.
"That’s the gist of it, so there’s no need to panic," Huo An replied. "Even if you were to leave, it’s impossible for Liang He to leave."
Who did they think was stupid enough to let Liang He go? Such a terrifying prospect wasn’t even worth thinking about!
"Brother Hao, did you just say that attending the interstellar breeder training and exchange conference is mandatory?" Liang He took the opportunity to ask before the call ended.
Upon hearing Liang He’s voice, Huo An’s tone instantly softened. He nodded to himself, then realized it wasn’t a video call and Liang He couldn’t see him, so he quickly replied aloud. "Yes. Since you just obtained the interstellar breeder certificate, it’s customary that you must attend the first training and exchange conference."
Although Huo An could use the Animal Protection Zone’s authority to grant Liang He the certificate without an exam, the conference was a formal procedure that couldn’t be skipped.
"Okay, roughly when do I leave?" she asked.
"In three days. You’ll go to the Greenfield Star for a week of training. Including travel time, it’ll take about ten days."
The Greenfield Star was the planet with the most extensive green coverage in the entire interstellar space, making it home to the greatest variety of flora and fauna. Because of this, both assessments and training for an interstellar breeder were always held there.
"Additionally, you need to attend a meeting while you’re there, in your capacity as Station Chief Liang." Huo An wanted Liang He to make a public appearance as Station Chief Liang as a formal declaration that the entire Animal Protection Zone, the Sky Shining Star, and even the Federation stood behind her.
"Alright, I understand." Having grasped the general situation, Liang He ended the call. Meanwhile, Hoder was still relentlessly accusing Lan Zhuo.
"Lan Zhuo, Doctor Lan! Next time, please don’t speak in half-truths, okay? You nearly scared me to death." Hoder was truly rendered speechless. It was a good thing Lan Zhuo wasn’t a human doctor; with his way of speaking, a beating would be getting off lightly.
"I said Liang He needed to temporarily leave the Animal Protection Zone. I wasn’t wrong." Not believing he had misspoken in the slightest, Lan Zhuo stuck to his guns. "Xu Yi said a whole bunch of things. When you simplify it, isn’t that the fact?"
What a simplification. It was true that Xu Yi had spoken a lot of nonsense, but Lan Zhuo’s ability to condense a sentence into a completely different meaning was something else entirely.
"Fine, fine, fine, I can’t out-argue you. Anyway, I just have one thing to say!" Hoder stared at Lan Zhuo with absolute seriousness. "Doctor Lan, you passed on the message perfectly, but please, never pass on a message again. Much obliged, thank you!"
"Oh, you’re welcome." Lan Zhuo seemed to focus entirely on the "thank you" at the end. As for whether he understood the preceding words, it was truly hard to say. Perhaps his simplified version of the sentence had just become: *Passed it well, thank you!*
"PFFT..." For some reason, the more Liang He thought about it, the funnier it became. Unable to hold back, she laughed out loud. Seeing them look at her in unison, she hastily picked up her rice bowl. "I’m done eating. Take your time."
Yes, distancing herself from the "battlefield" was the wisest choice.
Since she was going on a long trip, Liang He had to arrange her work ahead of time within these three days. As her bodyguard, Hoder would accompany her to the Greenfield Star. Although Liang He felt it wasn’t strictly necessary, she didn’t refuse his insistence. After all, she couldn’t exactly tell him straight to his face that her Combat Power was higher than his and she didn’t need his protection, could she? That would be far too hurtful.
"Do I need to wear my own clothes?" Other than the time she went to rescue the Mengji Snow Leopard, Liang He hadn’t left the Sky Shining Star. Now that she was suddenly being sent on a business trip, she really wasn’t used to it.
"Yes, and if you’re attending the meeting as Station Chief Liang, you must wear formal attire." Hoder was quite experienced in this regard. "Don’t worry, the meeting will basically be scheduled for the latter half of the trip. I’ll have someone tailor a suit for you and deliver it directly to the Greenfield Star."
With the capabilities of the Huo Family, this was a breeze. Liang He didn’t decline the offer. Compared to all this, what she couldn’t let go of the most were the fluffies at home.
"Can I really not bring them along?" Liang He looked so aggrieved that her facial features practically scrunched together. She felt like she was developing separation anxiety from her fluffies.
His mouth twitching slightly, Hoder ruthlessly rejected her plea. After all, wandering around with several Evolutionary Beastmen sounded incredibly absurd. "They are all key protection targets of the Animal Protection Zone and cannot leave the premises. You’ll just have to communicate with them through the surveillance feeds every day."
"Alright..." Liang He nodded in disappointment. Drooping her head listlessly, she turned around to go hug her fluffies. While she still had a couple of days before leaving, she needed to get her fill of snuggling the fluffies, otherwise she feared she truly wouldn’t be able to control herself.
After Liang He and Hoder finished setting up the previously prepared outdoor dens, they were about to embark on their journey to the Greenfield Star.
"Cedriel, Lanton, Leopard, Jiao Jiao, and Cyril, you all behave at home and don’t get hurt, hear me?"
"ROAR! SCREECH!"
The fluffies had been repeatedly lectured by Liang He for three whole days, yet they still gave her the most affirmative responses without hesitation every single time. It only made her more reluctant to leave.
"Liang He, if we don’t leave now, we really won’t catch the Starship!"
