The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 86: Liang He Needs to Leave the Reserve?
Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Liang He Needs to Leave the Reserve?
Lan Zhuo walked up to Liang He. Looking at the Little Black Snake, who had been tossed into a tree and was now hanging high on a branch, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Even though Lanton was technically the one who had rescued the Little Black Snake, it didn’t stop the eagle from getting jealous when the situation called for it.
"SCREECH!"
Lanton circled Liang He several times. He seemed to be complaining about the Little Black Snake’s immoral act of swooping in when she was vulnerable, which was why he had forced the snake to join their game.
"Alright, alright, I know. Go play now," Liang He said.
Having complete confidence in her furry companions and trusting they wouldn’t easily hurt each other, Liang He didn’t intervene in the dispute between the Green Tea Eagle and the scheming snake. Instead, she turned to look at Lan Zhuo.
"Doctor Lan, were you looking for me?"
Hearing his name, Lan Zhuo finally remembered his real purpose and snapped out of his spectator mindset. "Yes, it’s about the Silver Moon Wolf."
Lan Zhuo had been at the Seventh Service Area for a while now, and he had never stopped his research on the Silver Moon Wolf. Fortunately, with Liang He’s help, the Silver Moon Wolf had been highly cooperative, allowing the research to progress very quickly.
"How is it doing?"
"Just as we expected, the Silver Moon Wolf is strengthening."
This news confirmed the previous hypotheses of the Federal Animal Research Institute, but at the same time, it was terrible news. It meant that the Rebel Army had achieved further breakthroughs in their research on Fierce Beasts.
"I’ve already reported this matter," Lan Zhuo continued. "Moving forward, I might still need your cooperation to help me control the Silver Moon Wolf."
Facts had proven that researching the Silver Moon Wolf was much easier with Liang He around. Therefore, the director and the others fully supported Lan Zhuo staying here. Furthermore, aside from the Silver Moon Wolf, the issue of the Beastmen’s Evolutionary Stage had always troubled everyone, and Lan Zhuo also shouldered the task of solving it.
"As long as you don’t hurt it, I’ll make sure it cooperates properly," Liang He replied.
Her response left some leeway, which Lan Zhuo completely understood. After all, she was a Breeder who deeply cared for her animals; naturally, she didn’t want to see them come to any harm.
"You can rest assured on that front. The Silver Moon Wolf is different from a Fierce Beast, so we won’t harm it."
In truth, even with Fierce Beasts sent to the Animal Research Institute for study, the researchers wouldn’t actively harm them. In most cases, the beasts died because their own mental states spiraled out of control.
After reaching an agreement with Liang He, Lan Zhuo took his leave. By this time, the furry companions had played enough. Exhausted, they all lay sprawled on the ground, their heavy panting echoing throughout the room. Liang He could even see the tiger, leopard, and lion’s tender pink little tongues sticking out as they huffed and puffed. They looked incredibly goofy and cute.
"Alright! It’s time to eat. Lanton, remember to put Little Black down!"
After instructing the Canglan Hunting Eagle to release his ’beast hostage,’ Liang He turned and walked into the kitchen to prepare lunch for the fluffy crew. The plan was to eat, take a nap, and then start cleaning up.
"HISS..."
Elias had once again experienced a life-or-death rush. Having teetered on the edge of danger, he finally landed safely and slithered away in a flash, disappearing from the Canglan Hunting Eagle’s line of sight. Truth be told, if Lanton hadn’t suddenly snatched him away and interrupted his thoughts, he probably wouldn’t have been able to truly calm down. He might have even spoken human words right then and there, giving Liang He a huge fright.
"SCREECH!"
Although he couldn’t see where the Little Black Snake had hidden, the Canglan Hunting Eagle still let out a warning cry before turning and flapping his wings to leave.
By the time Liang He woke up from her nap, the clouds outside had just dispersed, revealing the warm winter sun. The cozy weather made her stretch comfortably.
"Excellent! Time to get to work!"
With the New Calendar Year fast approaching, she needed to give her dormitory a thorough cleaning. However, since the dorm was newly built and well-maintained daily, Liang He’s main task was simply to wash the windows.
"If only a small-scale typhoon would suddenly hit," she mumbled.
Liang He recalled a video she had scrolled past recently: someone had sprayed glass cleaner all over their windows and let a passing typhoon do the rest, resulting in perfectly spotless and crystal-clear glass. Just thinking about how satisfying that looked felt pretty great.
She thought, "Yep, it wouldn’t be a wasted trip. Even a typhoon has its uses!"
"Liang He, what are you muttering about?" Hoder, who had been dragged along to help with the chores, couldn’t help but be full of questions as he saw Liang He standing completely still, spacing out.
"Ah? It’s nothing." Liang He shook her head guiltily, not daring to tell Hoder the truth. Fearing he might press the issue, she immediately raised her rag and started scrubbing the window.
Strike while the iron is hot, or lose the momentum entirely.
Just as Liang He was preparing to finish all the work in one vigorous go, she suddenly noticed a tender pink paw pad on the other side of the glass. It was wiping up and down, perfectly matching her rhythm.
"Wow! Cedriel, are you helping me wash the windows?"
Through the glass, Liang He and the Mojin King Tiger worked in perfect harmony. Her small hands and his large paws wiped up and down at the exact same frequency. When Liang He deliberately acted goofy and used both hands, the Mojin King Tiger mirrored her actions. The human and the tiger moved faster and faster, until the Mojin King Tiger’s front paws nearly tangled together. He was so busy trying to keep up that the whole scene looked incredibly comical.
"Liang He, you’re amazing! You actually managed to boss Cedriel into washing the windows with you!" Hoder had originally thought he was the only laborer here. Suddenly gaining an extra set of paws instantly lifted his mood to a whole new level.
"Haha, he just thinks I’m playing a game with him."
It seemed that after his failed attempt to cuddle with her that morning, the Mojin King Tiger was quite unwilling to give up. So, while the other furry companions were lazily basking in the sun, he seized the opportunity to interact with Liang He. In order to cuddle with the two-legged beast, the silly, sweet tiger had surprisingly come up with a little scheme. He was a bit smart, but not by much.
"Finally done!" Liang He stood with her hands on her hips, feeling absolutely incredible. Even though the window-cleaning robot had handled most of the glass, she was still awesome!
With the major clean-up before the New Calendar Year complete, Liang He was finally relieved of her burden. Next, all she needed to do was focus on feeding her fluffy crew.
"Oh right, I almost forgot about this!"
Hoder had no idea where Liang He had dragged out a pile of stuff from. Seeing her face go from exhausted to full of energy in the blink of an eye, he couldn’t help but admire her. "What’s this now?"
"These are the nests I prepared for the wild animals."
As the stationmaster and Breeder of the Seventh Service Area, Liang He couldn’t just focus on the Iron-eating Beast and the others. The animals surviving in the wild also fell under her job responsibilities. Winter was often the hardest time for animals to endure, so Liang He had bought quite a few warm nests online, planning to distribute them out in the wild.
If she hadn’t been afraid that the strong scent of the Mengji Snow Leopard and the others would terrify the wild animals and prevent them from coming near, Liang He would have wanted to build a few more shelters around the service area itself.
"I don’t know if they’ll actually move in, but if I don’t set them up, they definitely won’t," she reasoned. Whether it made perfect sense or not, that was how Liang He saw it. She simply wanted to follow her heart and do what she felt was right.
"Perhaps you could camouflage these nests with leaves and such," a voice suggested.
Lan Zhuo, who had just finished a new round of research, happened to overhear Liang He and offered her the idea. At the same time, he brought her some rather unfortunate news.
"Xu Yi just asked me to pass on a message. You might need to leave the reserve temporarily."
