The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 53: Is Liang He a Fickle Breeder?
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Is Liang He a Fickle Breeder?
The unprecedented pursuit of love made netizens exceptionally enthusiastic. They shipped the couples with great vigor, to the point where they were no longer satisfied with the current beastmen.
"Can we really not get a snake-type beauty? Cold, icy, and tightly entangled—just thinking about it is thrilling! Plus, they’d be a mobile air conditioner in the summer!"
"Then it wouldn’t be too much for me to wish for a Charm-type fox, right? I really want to see the Breeder grinning from ear to ear while the other beastmen gnash their teeth in jealousy."
"Lions, tigers, and leopards—we’re only missing a lion now. I think the Empire’s Crown Prince would be a great fit. He’s haughty yet adorable. I really want to see him bullied to tears. Hiss~ How exciting!"
The unscrupulous netizens on the dark web spoke freely, completely ignoring the feelings of the parties involved as they took their shipping to the extreme.
Meanwhile, the Imperial Crown Prince, who was being arbitrarily paired up by them, was lounging on the sofa with a gloomy expression, scrolling through the Star Network.
Ever since the Emperor announced that Cyril, who was about to enter his Evolutionary Stage, would be sent to the key royal Animal Protection Zone on Sky Shining Star, he had been silently following Liang He, the person who might raise him in the future.
"What are they doing? This is a total disgrace to beastmen!" Cyril exclaimed in shock as he scrolled through Liang He’s recently posted videos.
The last time the King came to persuade him, he had shown him the Fur Raising Officer’s account. Since then, Cyril had been keeping a close eye on her. Fortunately, he didn’t know what was happening on the dark web. Otherwise, he would likely be so ashamed and furious that he would battle it out with the netizens to argue who was right.
"Eureka, will I become this ridiculous in the future too?" Watching the once all-powerful Federation Marshal play fetch with a human, Cyril honestly didn’t want to face his future adult self. "If possible, I’d rather stay seventeen forever."
Otherwise, he was afraid his Evolutionary Stage self would unknowingly leave behind an unforgettable dark history. Admiral Kuang Ye was a prime example!
"Your Highness Cyril, if the Queen hears such words, I’m afraid she will be very sad," Eureka warned. Sad enough to beat him up, even. After all, Cyril’s words were truly inauspicious.
As Cyril’s military instructor and captain of the guard, Eureka had practically watched him grow up and naturally saw right through his duplicity. Whenever he watched Cedriel and the others playing with Liang He, curiosity and envy clearly leaked from his eyes.
"I believe that with Miss Liang He’s company, Admiral Kuang Ye and the others are all very happy," Eureka said.
Before Liang He appeared, Eureka had also worried about how Cyril would safely pass his Evolutionary Stage. He even planned to protect him from the shadows, ready to intervene immediately if danger arose. However, in a way, that wasn’t a good choice. Cyril was the Imperial Crown Prince. One day, he would inherit the entire Empire. If he lacked sufficient capability and wisdom, the Empire would be in peril.
"Has Your Highness noticed? They have transformed from solitary braves into well-coordinated warriors with both courage and strategy. This is all Miss Liang He’s doing." As the captain of the guard, Eureka’s observations were not limited to the surface. He analyzed things deeply, from the outside in.
"What you’re saying... seems to make sense." Cyril sighed in frustration. He refreshed the video feed and immediately saw the Iron-eating Beast and the panda cub. "Why is this woman so fickle? It’s only been a few days, and she picked up another beastman!" Puffed up with anger, Cyril threw his Light Brain onto the bed, unwilling to look anymore.
Interstellar beastmen, outside of the Rebel Army, were basically all registered. Their files were confidential, but the beastmen would be aware of each other’s existence. Cyril had a particularly deep impression of someone as unique as Xuan Jiao, especially since he came from Blue Star.
"As a Breeder of the Animal Protection Zone, it is Miss Liang He’s duty to rescue beastmen," Eureka said. He understood Cyril’s petty temper better than anyone; the prince was probably worried that once he was in Liang He’s hands, he wouldn’t be able to compete with the other beastmen.
"But there are so many interstellar beastmen. Is she going to take them all in?" Cyril ran out to the bedroom’s garden terrace for some fresh air. His head drooped, his light blonde hair fluttering slightly in the wind, and his jewel-like green eyes revealed anxiety toward the unknown.
"She will likely only be responsible for Evolutionary Beastmen, and strictly within the Animal Protection Zone. That is why the King wants to send you to Sky Shining Star."
The Emperor had always doted on Crown Prince Cyril. In the past, if he encountered a talent like Liang He, he would undoubtedly do everything in his power to win her over and invite her to the Imperial Palace to exclusively care for Cyril. However, Liang He was simply too special. Her abilities involved all beastmen and affected the entire interstellar space. If anyone tried to claim Liang He for themselves, it would mean making enemies of all the beastmen and the families behind them, perhaps even the entire Federation.
"I know." Although Cyril was spoiled enough to be a bit proud and willful, it didn’t mean he was ungrateful or unreasonable. Under Eureka’s patient guidance, the Imperial Crown Prince became much less resistant to his upcoming fate.
Meanwhile, Liang He, the Breeder who had no idea she had already been secretly reserved, was helplessly trying to pry off her newest leg pendant.
The panda cub seemed to have set its sights on Liang He. Usually, when she wasn’t around, it would snuggle in the Iron-eating Beast’s arms. But whenever she came to feed them, the little fellow would instantly cling to her, automatically serving as a leg pendant. She couldn’t shoo it away or shake it off, and it had even learned to throw temper tantrums. Left with no choice, Liang He could only bring it next door to see the Silver Moon Wolf.
"Xingbao, play by yourself for a bit. Don’t run around," Liang He said.
Arriving in the new environment, the panda cub looked around curiously and soon spotted the wolf cubs guarding their mother.
"SQUEAK~"
"AWOO?"
It was also the wolf cubs’ first time seeing a panda. Perhaps because none of them were very big and posed no real threat, there were no warnings or attacks. They sniffed each other’s scents. After detecting the same lingering scent of Liang He, they confirmed each other’s identities and happily started playing together. Seeing this, Liang He finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"I feel like I’m about to become a kindergarten principal," Liang He joked, sharing a rare complaint with Xu Yi.
"Just cherish it while you can. Once the Silver Moon Wolf’s health improves, she’ll take the cubs back to the grasslands," Xu Yi said. Rescue in the Animal Protection Zone didn’t mean lifelong captivity. When rescued animals regained their ability to survive, they would be released. Only nature was the best home for animals.
"It’s a pity there’s still no news about the Dark Night Wolf King." Liang He watched the wolf cubs playfully wrestling with the panda cub and sighed softly. She sincerely hoped their family of four could be reunited.
"Don’t worry. Since they captured him for research, the Rebel Army won’t let him die easily. We still have a chance."
"That’s true, but if he’s turned into a Fierce Beast, won’t it be too late?" Liang He felt they couldn’t rely on luck. Rescuing the Dark Night Wolf King sooner meant one less day of suffering and a higher chance of survival.
"But we haven’t found the Rebel Army’s stronghold yet. Worrying won’t help," Xu Yi replied. He naturally knew that whether saving humans or animals, the sooner the better. But right now, never mind the Dark Night Wolf King, they had even lost a Law Enforcer in the process.
"If only we could track the Rebel Army’s location."
Liang He wondered, "Track... their location?" She suddenly realized something and immediately dashed out of the medical room.
