The Fluffballs I Fed Were SSS-Rank Beastmen
Chapter 40: Incredible Self-Healing Ability
Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Incredible Self-Healing Ability
"SCREECH!"
The first to notice that something was wrong with Liang He was none other than the Canglan Hunting Eagle. He had been circling high in the sky, constantly keeping an eye on her movements. His intuition as a wild beast allowed him to sense the immense fluctuation in her emotions, prompting him to fly to her side immediately.
Fortunately, the Silver Moon Wolf had already fallen unconscious by this time. Otherwise, seeing the Canglan Hunting Eagle appear, she probably would have fought to the death to protect her pups.
"Lanton?"
Her rationality awakened by the Canglan Hunting Eagle, Liang He looked up slightly, her expression returning to normal. She glanced at the Silver Moon Wolf in her arms, preparing to carry her back to the Seventh Service Area.
"The Silver Moon Wolf is too heavily injured. Why don’t you let me take her back to the Main Service Area..."
Xu Yi wanted someone to carry the Silver Moon Wolf away, but Liang He adamantly refused. Relying on the presence of the Canglan Hunting Eagle, she simply turned a deaf ear to their words.
Ultimately, it was Huo An, who had rushed over in a hurry, who gave the order allowing Liang He to bring the Silver Moon Wolf back to the Seventh Service Area.
"I’ll help you carry the Silver Moon Wolf onto the aircraft. Xu Yi will also stay at the Seventh Service Area during this period until she is fully healed."
"Alright, thank you."
Liang He had no objections to Huo An’s arrangement.
By the time they hurried back to the Seventh Service Area, a faint glimmer of light had broken through the deeply darkened night sky. It was just like the dying Silver Moon Wolf encountering a chance at survival.
"HOWL!"
"MEOW!"
The Mojin King Tiger and the Mengji Snow Leopard, who had been anxiously waiting at home, rushed out the moment they heard the sound of the aircraft. Instantly surrounded by fluff, Liang He’s previously gloomy mood was soothed, and a smile finally graced her small face.
"Good boys, did you stay up all night?"
Petting their clean, soft fur on her left and right, Liang He nuzzled them affectionately, reciprocating the same reliance they showed her.
"HOWL~"
"MEOW~"
Without Liang He returning, they had been too worried to sleep soundly. They had barely closed their eyes for a moment before snapping them open to check, doing so repeatedly until she came back.
Heartbroken that they hadn’t slept all night, Liang He quickly coaxed them and the Canglan Hunting Eagle into the animal dormitory. Since the Silver Moon Wolf needed to be treated in the medical room, the Mengji Snow Leopard had to move into the animal dormitory early. Fortunately, thanks to Liang He’s efforts over this period, they were getting along quite well, so she didn’t have to worry too much.
"Are you okay?" Huo An asked.
Huo An and Liang He had arrived at the medical room a step later. Xu Yi was in the middle of examining the Silver Moon Wolf and had lifted her onto the medical scanner.
"Yeah."
Without the fluffy animals around, Liang He reverted to her previous coldness, though she didn’t show any other abnormalities. "Governor Huo, do you know exactly how the Silver Moon Wolf got injured?"
It was clearly within the reserve, so why would the Silver Moon Wolf abandon her pups and run into the forest? Even if she had gone to find the Dark Night Wolf King, she wouldn’t have just left her cubs behind. Therefore, she must have encountered danger.
At the mention of this matter, Huo An’s expression similarly turned grim. "We conducted reverse tracking based on where the Silver Moon Wolf appeared and discovered a few things."
Initially, after Liang He found the two wolf cubs, they had been keeping an eye out for traces of their parents, but they found absolutely nothing. It wasn’t until the Silver Moon Wolf showed herself that they managed to uncover the truth through reverse investigation.
"Someone infiltrated the reserve and captured the Dark Night Wolf King." The Silver Moon Wolf had rushed to save him after hearing his calls, which was why she had left the wolf cubs on the prairie.
"Is it the Rebel Army again?" Liang He couldn’t think of anyone else.
"Yes."
"Why?" she asked.
Why? Because the Rebel Army had always been dedicated to researching a Fierce Beast Army to fight against the Federation. However, to create Fierce Beasts, the indispensable component was naturally beasts. Especially since they wanted to create powerful Fierce Beasts to battle Beastmen on the battlefield, their requirements for experimental beasts had naturally skyrocketed. The Dark Night Wolf King possessed considerable strength in the animal kingdom, making him a genuinely excellent experimental subject.
"Don’t concern yourself with this matter anymore. I will handle it," Huo An said. There were some things that Liang He, as a Breeder, shouldn’t know about. After all, even if she did know, it wouldn’t help the situation and would only add to her troubles.
"If it weren’t for an oversight in the reserve, the Silver Moon Wolf and the Dark Night Wolf King wouldn’t have suffered this disaster." This was the first time Liang He had spoken so pointedly and unforgivingly, showing no regard for the other party’s status or dignity.
Hearing this, Huo An felt deeply ashamed. "I will thoroughly investigate the internal personnel of the reserve." With accidents occurring time and time again, it was indeed necessary for Huo An to purge his ranks.
Liang He didn’t say anything further in response to Huo An’s promise. Instead, she looked toward Xu Yi, who had received the examination results and was walking toward them.
"It’s a miracle! This is truly incredible!"
"What are you babbling about?" Liang He’s coldness and distrust had made Huo An feel uncomfortable. Seeing Xu Yi’s expression of disbelief, he immediately furrowed his brows.
"Governor, Liang He, look at this! The report shows that the Silver Moon Wolf’s wounds are actually healing automatically!"
As a Veterinarian, Xu Yi had actually known the moment he laid eyes on the Silver Moon Wolf that, unless a miracle occurred, it was nearly impossible to save her. But now, a miracle had occurred in the most spectacular fashion!
"Not only her external injuries, but even her internal injuries are self-healing! Although the process is slow, I can guarantee that in less than half a month, she’ll be an alive and kicking Silver Moon Wolf once again!"
Hearing Xu Yi’s words, even Huo An was thoroughly astonished. Could the Silver Moon Wolf have undergone a mutation to cause such a phenomenon?
"Alright, continue monitoring her. You will stay in the medical room during this period," Huo An instructed. The purpose of this monitoring was naturally to have Xu Yi figure out the cause behind the Silver Moon Wolf’s self-healing.
"No problem!"
In truth, Xu Yi wouldn’t have wanted to leave even if Huo An hadn’t given the order. As a Veterinarian, the Silver Moon Wolf’s self-healing ability was clearly a subject of immense interest to him. Besides, legitimately living in the Seventh Service Area meant Liang He would have to feed him, right? Being able to enjoy a few extra delicious meals along the way—why wouldn’t he be happy to do so?
After seeing Huo An off and settling Xu Yi in, Liang He finally returned to the animal dormitory. As soon as she walked through the door, she saw the Beast Beasts pretending to sleep. They were sprawled out haphazardly on the floor, occasionally peeking with half-open eyes to see what she was doing.
"Cedriel, if you want to look, just look openly. Who told you to act so sneakily?
"Leopard, why is your tail still twitching? You’re exposed.
"Lanton, since when did you develop the habit of sleeping on the floor? Did you not have enough time to fly up into the tree?"
Being called out one by one, the fluffy animals realized they had been exposed and gave up pretending. They scrambled up from the floor and bolted toward Liang He, instantly surrounding her.
"HOWL~"
"MEOW~"
"SCREECH!"
Seeing how lively and energetic they all were, Liang He smiled with relief. She doted on them by giving each beast a big hug and a kiss on the forehead before heading to the kitchen to prepare their food.
"You haven’t slept all night. After we finish breakfast, we’ll catch up on our sleep together."
Aside from the Beast Beasts, Liang He naturally didn’t forget Xu Yi and Hoder. Although Hoder hadn’t accompanied them to the Second Service Area, he had also stayed awake the entire night.
Before leaving, Liang He suddenly looked at Hoder. "Hoder, do you know much about the Rebel Army and Fierce Beasts?"
