Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Fluffies Acting Cute and Vying for Favor
After a busy day, the viewers in the livestream room also logged off in satisfaction.
While Liang He and Hoder sat in the living room of the suite eating dinner, she suddenly remembered the fluffy companions she had stood up. She hurriedly contacted Xu Yi.
"My little ancestor, you’ve finally remembered them!"
Through the video call, Xu Yi started complaining to Liang He about the terrible behavior of the Mengji Snow Leopard and the others, but Liang He had absolutely no interest in listening.
"Doctor Xu, could you please cast the screen? I want to chat with Lanton and the others."
Xu Yi, ruthlessly ignored, thought, "Good, very good, excellent. As expected, no one cares if I live or die. Boo-hoo..."
"Got it..."
An exhausted Xu Yi weakly walked into the animal dormitory. As soon as he pushed the door open, several pairs of beastly eyes looked at him full of expectation. Once they realized it was only Xu Yi, they immediately laid back down, their tails flicking in annoyance, completely unwilling to pay him any attention. Great, they were all little ancestors!
"Liang He wants to video chat with you guys. You’re not allowed to chase and bite me, or else I’ll—"
Xu Yi, trying to threaten the fluffballs, completely forgot that he was still on their blacklist. Hearing Liang He’s name, Cedriel was the first to open his eyes. He cast a faint glance at Xu Yi, then slowly stood up, sharpened his claws, and walked toward him menacingly.
"AWOO!"
Liang He had just stuffed the last bite of food into her mouth when she heard the roar coming from the other side. She immediately chewed and swallowed, looking at the screen with sparkling eyes.
"Is that Cedriel?"
Cedriel, who was just about to scare Xu Yi again, instantly turned his intimidating roar into a sweet, high-pitched whine upon hearing Liang He’s voice, shooting Xu Yi a fierce glare in the process. He thought, "What a sly dog! It’s all his fault for not speaking up earlier, almost making me expose my true colors in front of Liang He!"
"AWOO~"
Besides Cedriel, the other beasts who heard Liang He’s voice immediately gathered around, scrambling to greet her.
"MEOW~"
"SCREECH~"
"GRUNT~"
"SQUEAK SQUEAK~"
The baby panda, held in Xuan Jiao’s arms, also happily acted spoiled toward Liang He, clearly remembering her voice. Even the Silver Moon Wolf, in a rare move, brought her wolf pups over to gather around, making Xu Yi incredibly jealous. Kuang Ye and the others were one thing, but when the Silver Moon Wolf was injured, he had taken care of her day and night. Yet, he still couldn’t compare to Liang He.
"Alright, alright, stop pushing! I’ll cast the screen for you, okay? What a bunch of little ancestors."
Muttering to himself, Xu Yi cast the Light Brain’s display onto the big screen. The moment they saw Liang He, the fluffballs immediately left his side and gathered in front of the screen, sitting obediently.
"My darlings, did you miss me?"
Seeing the fluffballs through the screen, Liang He felt as though they had been apart for an eternity; she missed them tremendously.
"GRUNT~"
The Iron-eating Beast gently placed the baby panda down next to him, then picked up three small balls and started performing a juggling act of tossing and catching for Liang He.
"MEOW~"
Not willing to be outdone, the Mengji Snow Leopard dug out the leopard-print sweater Liang He had made for him from his little private enclosure. Now that all his fur had grown back, he didn’t need to wear the sweater anymore, but he couldn’t bear to throw it away and had kept it all this time.
"SCREECH~"
Compared to the two of them, the composed Canglan Hunting Eagle simply hovered at a low altitude in front of the camera, expressing his joy. All the fluffballs were using their own ways to convey how much they missed Liang He. Only Cedriel sat silently in the corner. His golden tiger eyes reflected Liang He’s figure, brimming with deep affection.
"Haha, how are you guys so cute?"
Liang He, who was bursting with laughter from the fluffballs’ antics, felt her exhaustion swept away entirely. Little did she know, the Platinum Giant Lion, attracted by her laughter, was quietly approaching, wanting to play with her.
"No way!"
Hoder, who had just finished cleaning up after their meal, hadn’t even had a chance to catch his breath when he suddenly saw the Platinum Giant Lion getting restless. He immediately recalled Huo An’s warning. If the other beastmen found out that the Platinum Giant Lion had secretly followed Liang He to the Greenfield Star, their jealousy would turn the entire reserve upside down!
"WHIMPER..." AWOO?
The Platinum Giant Lion, who was just about to launch a sneak attack, was tackled to the ground by Hoder. Hoder even boldly covered his mouth to keep him from making a sound. Because Liang He was right there, the Platinum Giant Lion didn’t dare to actually bite Hoder, but he could drag Hoder along with him!
"Damn it! Cyril, stop right there!"
Hoder didn’t dare to speak too loudly, so he could only lie against the Platinum Giant Lion’s ear and growl in a low voice. The Platinum Giant Lion, who had never been yelled at since he was young, looked pitifully in Liang He’s direction. But seeing that she was entirely focused on talking to the other fluffballs, his ears instantly drooped, and he stopped resisting.
"Uh... could you not look so pitiful? I didn’t mean to yell at you."
Hoder, thinking he had been too fierce and made the Platinum Giant Lion sad, unknowingly took the blame for Liang He again.
Unaware of all this, Liang He was gently reminding the fluffballs to eat properly, not to run around wildly, and to avoid getting hurt. If they did get hurt, they must accept treatment and couldn’t just endure it... It wasn’t until Xu Yi couldn’t help but remind her that it was getting late and she had to wake up early for training tomorrow that Liang He reluctantly bid the fluffballs goodnight.
"Phew... finally dodged that."
Hearing Hoder sigh in relief, Liang He, who had just closed the video call, curiously turned her attention to him and the Platinum Giant Lion.
"What are you two doing?"
"Nothing!"
Hoder quickly scrambled off the Platinum Giant Lion’s back, shooting him a guilty look, afraid he would complain to Liang He. However, the crestfallen Platinum Giant Lion completely ignored him. He just lay motionless on the floor with a listless expression. Seeing this, Liang He furrowed her brows and immediately stepped forward.
"Cyril, what’s wrong? Are you not feeling well somewhere?"
"WHIMPER-AWOO..."
Liang He’s gentle, caring voice finally brought the Platinum Giant Lion back to his senses. Blinking his big eyes aggrievedly, he rubbed his massive head into Liang He’s arms, seeking comfort.
"There, there. Cyril did a great job today!"
Although she didn’t know exactly what had happened, Liang He could hear the sadness in the Platinum Giant Lion’s voice and gently hugged his head.
"WHIMPER-AWOO~"
Liang He continuously praised the Platinum Giant Lion while stroking his fur, finally managing to coax the delicate big baby back to a good mood. Seeing this, Hoder finally breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn’t until Liang He took the Platinum Giant Lion back to her room to rest that he felt completely at ease, lying back on his own bed and falling fast asleep.
The first day of the training session had concluded with a drowsy opening ceremony plus a series of unexpected incidents. By the time Liang He woke up the next day, it was already 1:00 PM.
"Good thing President Lucas had the foresight to know you definitely wouldn’t get enough rest, so he purposely adjusted the schedule."
Hoder heated up the food he had brought back for Liang He and laid it out on the dining table, ready for her to eat as soon as she finished washing up. The training class initially scheduled for the morning had been moved to 3:00 PM, giving Liang He plenty of time to wash up and peacefully eat lunch.
"By the way, President Lucas asked me to tell you to go see him after the training ends this afternoon."
