Chapter 100: Cyril’s Highlight Moment
Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Cyril’s Highlight Moment
"An elephant?!"
"No! It’s a whole Elephant Group!"
The sudden intrusion of the Elephant Group threw everyone into a panic. Staff members immediately began evacuating the guests while summoning the Guard Team to ensure everyone’s safety if necessary.
However, accidents were inevitable. Out of nowhere, a little girl wandered into the danger zone. She was only a few steps away from the Elephant Group. If she didn’t leave immediately, she would undoubtedly be trampled into mush.
"Beibei!" an elegantly dressed lady screamed in terror and worry. She tried to rush forward and snatch the little girl back, but the Guard Team held her back.
"Madam, if you go over there now, you’ll just be offering yourself to the Death God!"
"No! Let me go! If my daughter dies, what’s the point of me living?!"
The sobbing lady struggled relentlessly, desperate to save her child. Even if she couldn’t save her, she was willing to accompany her to the Death God’s domain. Otherwise, how terrified would such a young child be, facing the Death God all alone...
"Beibei! My baby! Please, let me go save her!"
The crowd, taking emergency shelter on the hotel’s upper floors, looked down from the terrace at the heartbroken lady. None of them could hide their pity. Whether they were parents or children themselves, putting themselves in her shoes, even the most rational person couldn’t bear to watch their closest kin die right before their eyes.
"Cyril!"
"ROAR!"
Just as the crowd grieved and the lady fell into despair, Liang He called out. The Platinum Giant Lion immediately understood. He bolted straight for the little girl, who was merely ten meters away from the Elephant Group.
She was already too paralyzed by fear to move. Rooted to the spot, she could only cry and scream for her mother.
"Mommy! WAH... I want my mommy!"
Watching the Elephant Group draw closer, the crowd stared at the sprinting Platinum Giant Lion, their hearts in their throats. Could it be what they were hoping for?
"ROAR!"
The Platinum Giant Lion finally reached the little girl’s side. Placing himself between the weeping child and the impending threat, he roared at the Elephant Group, attempting to halt their advance.
"Cyril! Bring her back!" Liang He issued another command.
Hearing the order, the Platinum Giant Lion stopped worrying about halting the Elephant Group. Instead, he opened his massive jaws wide. Under the little girl’s terrified gaze, he clamped his teeth onto the back of her clothes, lifted her right up, and dashed back.
"Good boy!"
"Hurry! Faster!"
"Run for it!"
Seeing the Platinum Giant Lion sprinting back with the little girl dangling from his mouth, the crowd realized their hopes were true. He had actually gone to save her!
In this race against time, the Platinum Giant Lion was literally racing against the Death God. Everyone held their breath for him and the little girl. The wealthy lady was even more fraught with anxiety, praying for them ceaselessly.
It wasn’t until the Platinum Giant Lion successfully crossed the threshold and the staff immediately sealed the passageway—blocking the Elephant Group on the perimeter—that everyone finally let out a collective sigh of relief.
The moment the Platinum Giant Lion set the little girl down, the lady disregarded any lingering fear and sprinted over to them. She pulled the little girl into a tight embrace, sobbing uncontrollably.
"Beibei, Beibei!" She called her daughter’s name over and over, as if it was the only way to confirm her daughter had truly been rescued.
"WAH... Mommy! I was scared, so scared..." The little girl shrank into her mother’s arms, pouring out her grievances and terror.
Seeing this, the Platinum Giant Lion, failing to understand the emotional display, tilted his massive head in confusion.
"Cyril." Liang He walked over and softly called his name.
Hearing her voice, the Platinum Giant Lion instantly dropped his confusion and trotted over to her, rubbing against Liang He as if seeking praise.
"ROAR~"
"Yes, yes, Cyril is amazing! You even know how to save people now!"
Faced with her giant baby’s affection, Liang He was always won over. Especially since the Platinum Giant Lion had performed such a great deed, she naturally wasn’t stingy with her praise.
CLAP CLAP CLAP!
Suddenly, scattered applause rang out from all directions. Soon, the sound unified, growing thunderous. Everyone was silently praising the Platinum Giant Lion’s heroic rescue.
By this time, the wealthy lady had finally recovered from the aftermath of her terror. She quickly led the little girl over to Liang He.
"Thank you! Thank you for saving my daughter! Thank you!"
The lady thanked them profusely, even looking as if she wanted to kneel to show her gratitude, but Liang He stopped her just in time.
"If you want to thank Cyril, you can buy him some food. He’d be very happy," Liang He said.
She had no intention of stealing the credit, nor did she decline the lady’s gratitude on behalf of the Platinum Giant Lion. Instead, she chose a more practical and direct method, allowing the lady to properly express her thanks.
The lady agreed without hesitation, her favorable impression of Liang He instantly skyrocketing.
Anyone with eyes could see that the Platinum Giant Lion had only gone to save the girl because of Liang He’s orders. Even in her highly emotional state, the lady hadn’t missed Liang He shouting those commands. Yet, this young woman didn’t leverage the favor for a reward, instead giving all the credit to the Platinum Giant Lion. She didn’t harbor the slightest thought of seeking personal gain.
This made the lady, and everyone else present, look at her with deep respect.
"I’ll buy it! I’ll have someone buy it right now. We must properly thank Cyril!"
"There’s no rush," Liang He suggested. "Why don’t you take the child back first to get checked out and see if she’s hurt?"
It was the Platinum Giant Lion’s first time saving someone. Liang He wasn’t sure if he might have accidentally injured the little girl while carrying her in his mouth, so a check-up was the safest bet.
The lady completely agreed with Liang He’s proposal. "Alright, thank you for being so considerate. Beibei, quickly thank Cyril and the nice lady."
Looking at the majestic and powerful Platinum Giant Lion, the lady wasn’t scared in the least. In fact, she found him to be incredibly reliable and awe-inspiring. Even the little girl instinctively hugged the Platinum Giant Lion’s thick leg, seeking a sense of security.
"Thank you, nice lady, and thank you, big lion~" the little girl said in her sweet voice.
Liang He smiled at the sight. It was unclear where she pulled it from, but she magically produced a lollipop and handed it to her. "Beibei is so amazing. You’re a very brave little girl. I’m rewarding you with a lollipop."
"Wow!" The rainbow lollipop instantly captured the little girl’s attention. She instinctively looked up at her mother, and only after the lady nodded in approval did she take it.
"Thank you, nice lady!"
"You’re welcome," Liang He replied, gently patting the top of the little girl’s head. "You go take care of things. I’m going to take Cyril to check on the situation with the Elephant Group."
Elephants generally didn’t intrude on human territory, and an incursion by such a large Elephant Group was even rarer. She had to figure out what was going on.
"Alright, then how should I find you?" The lady was still thinking about her promise to buy food for Cyril.
"You can just go to the restaurant and tell the staff it’s food for Cyril."
In her rush to assess the situation, Liang He didn’t even leave her name. This only further convinced the lady that Liang He was a genuinely good person who saved lives without expecting anything in return.
"People like her are far too rare these days." The lady gazed gratefully at Liang He’s retreating back before leaving the outdoor area under the staff’s escort.
Meanwhile, Liang He had already brought the Platinum Giant Lion to the perimeter wall to meet up with Hoder.
"How is it? Have you found out what caused the Elephant Group’s abnormal behavior?"
