Chapter 2091: Karl’s Welcoming Gift

Eryman took a sip of the drink through the pretty pink straw the bunnies had provided, and coughed lightly.

"I think that you might want to go easy on the rum. Or, easier than that. It tastes like it’s at least a third liquor. But the effects of the fruit juice are remarkably potent. Even diluted into a juice with the liquor, I can still feel the benefit."

The bunny nodded. "The rum actually makes the human body absorb the magical effect of the juice faster. So, it feels more potent, and you don’t need to wait the three to five minutes for it to take effect."

While they were talking, Karl stepped quietly into the room, holding a small silk pouch.

"Legend Eryman, forgive me for not greeting you the moment that you arrived. I am Karl, branch leader of the Blackwoods Branch of the Darklight Host. Please accept this token of appreciation for your visit."

Eryman accepted the bag, wondering what was inside, then took a moment to admire the bag itself.

It was made of Rare Grade spider silk, naturally pure white and completely stain resistant. Simple, but luxurious in an understated way.

Then, he opened the pouch and gasped in astonishment.

Inside was a simple golden statue, a blindfolded woman in front of a beam balance scale, representing the fact that justice is blind and impartial. It only shows the truth, the weight of your actions.

But it was the effect that had startled him.

{Crusader’s Token of Justice} Immortal Rank, Epic Grade. Guild Item, grants all true believers in the Guild Branch a 5 Percent bonus to Holy Element effects.

As a Guild Item, it was already incredibly rare and valuable, but this one was perfectly designed for his people, and even had their deity as the statue. But it was not some lost relic, Eryman could see that Karl had made this item, so it was likely completed within the last hour, after the Guild Leader learned that his Legendary neighbour had come to visit.

The arrival had caught Karl in the middle of a delicate creation process, trying out a new technique. Fortunately, the others had covered for him, and the removal of his guards would not cause any security concerns.

At least, not for Eryman.

The security of his security team was in some question, though. Not because of robbery, assault, or assassins. No, the danger was much higher. This was a danger to their chastity.

Andrea, the Supreme Ranked Void Stalker, and Pill Master of the Darklight Host, had accompanied two of the Paladins, plus a Nature Priestess and an Elven Archmage into the dungeon.

And all three had the same taste in men.

With the three ladies showing off, the dungeon was actually going quite smoothly, but the mage and the succubus assassin were making the battle against a dungeon full of mutated cultists look uncomfortably sexy, while the nature priestess was entirely too kind and gentle for her current state of undress.

Technically, she was fully covered, and wearing a swimsuit underneath. But she was fully covered in one of the translucent silk robes that Rae had been making for the World Dragon Priestesses at the temple, and that was not hiding anything.

Now, for a Nature Priestess, that outfit was perfectly normal. She had been intending to go to the pool before she had spotted a whole buffet of man meat strutting down the street in armour.

But for the uptight and upright Paladins, the combination was making it difficult to focus.

The worst part was, the ladies were actually amazing teammates. If they couldn’t keep up with the Paladins, they could be dismissed as ladder climbers. But they were all very strong among the Supreme Ranked Clan Leaders, and wouldn’t have struggled to get any teammate that they wanted.

In the Guild House, Eryman finally decided to call out the badger, now that Karl was here.

"So, are you going to explain why you’ve been keeping such a close eye on me, and why you were so helpfully eager to get my guards off to the dungeon, and to arrange rooms for us until the arena tournament?"

Cara smiled. "Oh, you’ll find out soon enough."

"No, I would prefer to find out now."

Cara giggled and held up her hands helplessly. "Fine, but it’s not that serious. We just happened to know a few fine young ladies in town who found themselves short on Supreme Ranked dating candidates, and thought that we might help them with some personal problems."

"So, you sent my Paladins into a dungeon with what? A bunch of succubi?"

Clearly, he did not trust the badger’s good intentions.

"Only one Succubi. And a dragon kin Nature Priestess, and an Elf. It’ll be fine. The succubus is one of ours, she won’t drain them dry in our dungeon."

Eryman blinked slowly. Is that what the badger thought that the problem was?

"What about the rest of the Paladins?

"The other eight are with random groups right now. People started calling in members when they realized that there were self healing tank classes looking for a group. I think that we’ve got nearly every friendly Guild Master in the region here right now, and all but one of our Supreme Ranked members is currently in the dungeons."

The last one being Rue, who was here finishing the spears.

"So, the Darklight Host also runs a dating service?" Eryman joked.

Cara winked at him. "Did you have someone in mind? Between me and Opal, we’re really good at arranging the perfect date."

The Legend sighed. "NO, that is quite alright. I have had far more than enough people try to set me up on dates, and I have no interest in the political ramifications that come with a Legend choosing a partner.

Even if they don’t have any aspirations, the entire Church will be coming after them to try to get to me."

Cara thought about that for a moment. It sounded like a real pain.

But Opal had ideas.

"My friend says that if you don’t want to have people know, you can dress them up in a nun’s habit and have them pose as your personal assistant. You know, bringing your food, giving shoulder rubs after a long day, helping you in the bath..."

Karl smacked Cara on the back of the head as the badger burst into laughter, and the Legendary Paladin smiled.

"No, that would not help things at all. Do you know how many nuns the church has that could be persuaded to volunteer to assist her with that role?"
