The First Legendary Beast Master
Chapter 2069: Ready For Potion Sales
The change in the shop attracted a bit of attention, but all the foot traffic on the street could tell that the Alchemy shop wasn’t open yet. The shelves inside were bare, and the lights were far too bright.
Remi was about to remedy that, as the team was finishing up with a batch of potions and salves for regular stock.
The hair growth serum was a regular bestseller.
One thing that they had learned after arriving in the Immortal Realm was that it had a level of popularity with people who were not balding. It was also very popular among women with thin or brittle hair, or those who had short hair and wanted to quickly have long hair that wasn’t a temporary spell.
Your own real hair was always better than using a spell for the job.
So, it had been moved from the medicines section to the beauty section. That made it easier to find, and they kept a small tub out on display so that everyone knew it was available.
However, they had gone all out today, and thought that while they had a few esoteric classes known for odd magic, they should play that up to enhance their alchemy selection. Classes like the Witch Doctor were known for potions and curses without being alchemists.
So, they could often do things that a regular Alchemy Hall didn’t stock.
Making a section of the Alchemy Store dedicated to those sorts of unusual potions and reagents would remind people that they could do more than the basics, and encourage them to order rare things that might have otherwise slipped their minds.
The whole team swarmed the shop, arguing about what deserved to be in the display cases that weren’t taken by the essentials.
There were so many options, and you only had to keep a few things on display. Too much would just encourage stupidity. So, you only put the best stuff out front if it was a bestseller and you wanted people to know that it was in stock.
Like the Spirit Enhancement Potion.
That wasn’t a bestseller yet, but it would be in about an hour.
The long duration mana potions also got a spot front and centre, along with their patented itch reducing cream, and a display case full of mildly medicinal makeup.
That would help people remember that they could do fun things.
Many of the ladies liked makeup that could actually make them prettier, or lipstick that could protect against ingested toxins. Little things that had immensely useful effects.
Andrea came in to check on them as they were working, and gave the room a confused look.
"Where did you find a baby Plague Lord?"
The demon gurgled happily through the phlegm in his throat.
"It’s a shrinking potion. They’re on shelf three."
Remi nodded in agreement as she carefully transferred some of her stockpile to the cabinets and storage lockers of the new shop.
"{ Is there anything that we’re forgetting? Should we have other things on display? }"
Andrea nodded. "It’s unconventional, but a service that all Alchemists provide. You should put a few dried herbs on display. Ones that are hard to find, and useful in healing potions or other common recipes.
You see, many people like to gather their own resources to purchase from the Alchemy Hall at a discount, or you might find an aspiring Alchemist.
Sometimes those sorts of wandering Immortals know things that others don’t.
Alchemists only usually leave their Guild for one of two reasons. Either because they were thirsty for knowledge that they couldn’t find at home, or because they stole something rare and had to run before their Clan killed them.
Those are the best ones because they know things that they shouldn’t.
They don’t usually make good Guild members, but you can trade them for a sample, and then reverse engineer it to see if you can make it on your own. Sometimes it works, sometimes it leads to entirely new recipes."
Remi stared in amazement. That was actually brilliant. She had never thought about deliberately trying to get other potions as a trade for her work. She did like to buy them and test them, but accepting them as payment had never crossed her mind because she was already an Alchemist, and it wasn’t something that she had seen a need for yet.
Perhaps this was what it meant to have life too easy?
Remi had always been able to go to Elder Socrate or someone else with skills when she wanted to know something at the Immortal Rank. They would teach her, and then she could look for the ingredients. ℯℯ𝘭.
But there was lost knowledge as well, and she could try to learn it from its outcome.
Realistically, nearly all of what they were going to bring were things that Socrate and Amelia already knew. But that wasn’t the point. She could get fun new things that nobody had asked about, and that was the great limiter to knowledge gain.
You didn’t know what you didn’t know. However, if you were shown something you didn’t know, then you could learn it.
Some people would say that ignorance is bliss. But not if you were aware of your ignorance.
Now she needed ALL those lost recipes.
The Succubus Pill Master laughed as she saw the greed cross Remi’s expression. Not for wealth or power, but for the chance to get new things to experiment with.
With so many people helping, it didn’t take long for them to get all the potions that they needed to put out on the shelves, and the shop prepared for the first customers to enter. For the opening day, two of the Alchemists, a young Demon and an Elf were chosen for the counter, while the others either retreated to the back room to work or waited in a corner for someone to need their abilities.
That was also a thing that many Alchemists shops offered.
Apprentices that lacked resources to practice, and who were willing to make yours for a discounted price. None of the Darklight Host members were actually in that position, but faking it made people more comfortable.
