Chapter 1645 What A Carnage Wants
Chapter 1645 What A Carnage Wants
“How are you not dead?” Carnage asked as he realized that Karl was moving.
“I am quite durable, in all honesty. However, having a hole punched through my chest was a bit more than awkward. It’s just that dead and ‘dead’ aren’t always the same thing.”
The demon laughed as Karl dismissed the Epic Golems.
“You know, I’ve never seen the distraction technique work before.
Many have tried it in many different ways, even to the point of trying to run away to run out the clock. But none have actually made the timer before. Is that why you saved your valuables? You knew that you could win the wager?” Karl shook his head. “No. I just wanted you to have a chance to fight for a little bit. The prisoners said that you’re getting a bit tense and pent up without a proper chance to let loose and have fun these days.
If you need more payment for the fines, I have more loot, or I can make something that’s worth the same.”
Carnage laughed and waved his hand. “No, you’ve paid well enough. I will send you back to your home world, once I find out where it is.”
Karl stood up and shook the Demon’s hand.
“No need. I can see myself home with a portal. It’s been a pleasure to meet you in person. I met that clone of you in a System Trial set by a System created by the World Dragon. I’ve been interested to see what the real one was like for some time.”
Carnage smiled at him. “You know, I forgot how damnably fast Oathbreaker is if you don’t use an area damage skill to hit him. Most of the time, I would have just used a Fire Domain, but I was having too much fun today and I forgot.”
A legendary rank fire domain definitely would have put an early end to the fight.
In fact, Karl didn’t see Carnage use a single skill the whole time, he was only fighting with his base strength and speed. If he had enhanced himself to fight someone of his own Rank, it would have been an entirely different story.
The big demon patted Karl on the back and waved at him in a dismissive gesture.
“Go away now, or I’ll never get anything done. Next time you find one of my prison cells set loose, just send me a message, and we will come get it without the trespassing charge.”
“Thanks, I appreciate that.
As much fun as it was to talk to the inmates awaiting trial, I really do have other things to do. Now, perhaps I can give you a parting gift. It might be something you like.”
{Cannot Grant Skills that are already known} [Behemoth’s Vitality] transfer failed.
Damn. Carnage knew Thor’s skill for reducing damage? As old as that demon was, would anyone even be able to harm him anymore? It would likely need a Divine skill that ignored damage reduction to even put a scratch on him.
No wonder he loved to fight so much, it was literally impossible for him to lose. Carnage laughed. “You are but a mere Immortal Avatar of the World Dragon, I am an old friend of the World Dragon God himself. Don’t feel bad, there is little that he has not been willing to share with me if it makes my life more interesting.”
Now that was an interesting bit of news. Carnage knew the World Dragon. The actual World Dragon. How often would you ever have a chance to meet someone who had spoken to your Deity, much less enough of it to call him an old friend?
“In that case, I will make you something to keep your life more interesting. Give me just a few seconds.”
Karl took out a fire elemental stone at the Immortal Rank, knowing that Hawk would complain later and he would have to replace it. But it was the best option, and Karl began inscribing it with the runes to make a Summoning Stone to activate the [Epic Golem] spell.
With the runes finished, Karl held up the stone in front of him and activated [Breath Of The World], to finish the process.
{Item Created} [Golem Summoning Stone] Peerless Grade, Immortal Rank. Summons two Epic Golems of a type known to the caster.
Karl tossed the stone to Carnage.
“For you. If you get bored and need a fight, those should be better than nothing. Sorry that I can’t at least make them Supreme Ranked, but I’m a bit low on the power scale at the moment.
Give me a decade or two, and I’m certain that I could do something better for you.”
The big Demon laughed as he stared lovingly at the stone.
“Oh, this should do just fine. The guards take too long to heal, and they start running away during work hours if you vent on them too often. But the Golems, they will fight every time”
Karl nodded. “That’s the idea, anyhow. Oathbreaker remembers things that he shouldn’t, so he might get a bit odd after a while. But if you switch it up, you’ll be fine.
The stone is based on your knowledge, so every Epic Grade target that you are familiar with is a possibility for the summoning. For me, it works on creatures and demons I’ve seen as Dungeon Bosses, but at your level? Who knows what
all will count.
You might need to do some experimentation to figure it all out.”
Carnage nodded. “I will find the perfect sparring partner eventually. And then I will find you when you are Supreme, so that you can make me a Legendary
Artifact to spar against.”
Karl laughed. “If you’re not a Demigod by then.”
Carnage shook his head. “Don’t you worry about that too much. I will be a
Legend forever. The Carnage who wants to be a God is already a God.”
Karl nodded slowly. “So, are you like Oathbreaker then? You remember things
that happened to other versions of you?”
Carnage laughed, “No, I was talking about my father in law.
Now it’s time for you to go before the prisoners start getting ideas about escaping while the guards are distracted.”
