Chapter 1556 Cara's Sage Advice
Chapter 1556 Cara’s Sage Advice
Karl let them banter as he planned the three distinct, separate spaces for the apartment.
No, four spaces.
He would improve the training and bedroom combo to utilize the mana gathering arrays that were built into it already, layered with his own runic abilities and items.
Then the spare room in the closet by the door, the main room and kitchen combo for entertaining would turn into a full mansion, and he would upgrade the basic bathroom into a luxury bath, sauna and steam room.
Opal definitely approved of the possibilities of that one.
“Let’s make them all in the local style, so we get used to being around new things.” Cara suggested.
“Except the bedrooms. We need Ophelia’s room and the Dana Space optimized bedroom.” Opal countered.
“Alright, I think that I know what you’re going for. I will alter the spaces slightly, and then you can all tell me if you think I’ve left out something important.” Karl announced.
“But first, I need to make an item to stabilize them, so I’m not carving the runes into the apartment itself.”
At first, Opal didn’t see the problem with that. But then she realized that this place was essentially a rental, and the Clan might not actually be happy to see their improvements to what was intended to be the most basic of new member housing.
The point of these tiny apartments was to encourage them to better themselves, so they could live in luxury, and very few classes would have the ability to turn a one bedroom unit into a luxury mansion.
“You know, we could make a fortune just selling these.” Opal noted as Karl wrote out the runic pattern for the new interior using the Immortal Plane Runic language that the System had just recently taught him.
“That sounds like it will cause us many headaches.
I think that it’s better that we just lie low, collect our free loot, and work on training the Karl and the Dana Mage until they’re strong enough to go do fun things.” Cara disagreed.
“They already know that he’s a good source of magical rings, they’ll put it all together soon enough.” Opal informed her.
“But not yet. We don’t need long, we just need Karl to have an Immortal Spirit fully formed. Dana’s is very close now that she used that skill.”
Dana nodded. “I thought that it would be instant, but it just started the process. I will still need time either in the room or in the Tiny World to infuse myself with power.
I do worry that Karl might have a hard time. He doesn’t have a skill to start the progression of his Immortal Spirit, and we haven’t had an opportunity to look for new skills that will make it possible.
Until we do, he might be stuck where he is, just overpowered at the very start of Immortality.
And because the Immortal Spirit isn’t a major increase in power, our Soul Bond isn’t having any real effect.”
“We will make sure that once he’s finished building the house for us, he heads off to the Skill place while I explore the Clan’s amenities.” Cara assured her.
Opal frowned. She was behind, and didn’t want people judging her for being mortal still. She was going to have to finish her hard work and advance before shopping.
Wait. There was a solution. Karl could just [Evolve] her, if they had the resources to do the advancement.
Cara examined the skill. “I don’t think that’s going to work. It says that we need
a Greater Displacer Beast heart, and a Supreme Ranked Illusion Stone.
Even if the warehouse has those, I don’t think we can afford them.
You’ll just have to focus on pouring more energy into your space until you can advance.”
“You say that like it’s so easy.” Opal complained.
In his space, Tian shrugged. Cara’s advice seemed solid. You just needed more power, and you would advance. He focused on bringing the energy level in his body up, filling himself with Immortal Energy to drive out all the old energy.
It was something like filling a cup with water. The new energy was denser, so it just pushed the old stuff out.
And then, Tian’s cells began to vibrate with power, and he found that he had no more mortal energy in his body. It didn’t produce it, it didn’t use it, and it was
all evaporating from his space.
That was unexpectedly easy.
Sister Cara was a genius.
Opal stared at the tiny fox as he proudly strutted around the room, showing off
his advancement.
“What sort of cheat code is this? Not even tribulation? He just what? Decides
he’s going to be Immortal, so he is?”
Tian giggled. “Well, I’m a Stonefur Divine Fox, it’s only natural that I can make it to Immortal just by growing up, right?”
Opal was not convinced.
But it did make her wonder if advancing in her space was actually the key, or if they were going to get struck by Tribulation Lightning in the middle of the
living room in the next five minutes.
Cara thought that the second option sounded like more fun.
But she didn’t sense any disturbance.
“What’s this? Tian is getting all grown up? Now, we’re going to have to teach
you to become humanoid, so you can interact with everyone.” Dana teased Tian
when he jumped up into her arms.
{Thought about it, not cute enough.}
“That should not stop you from being a productive member of the team.”
Tian shrugged. {Sister Lotus gets to be a tree while she heals. I don’t see why I
can’t be a fox.)
That was hard logic to argue with.
It’s not like Tian was a front-line attacker, he was primarily a healer, with a few holy element attack skills. It would actually be an advantage for him to be tiny when things were attacking them so that he could more easily hide.
Just standing behind Karl would effectively shield him from nearly all damage.
