Chapter 1060: Chapter 1060: Long Eared God (Part 2)

When the cultivation world’s natives killed the fake gods, as no outsiders were involved, Guan Ling lacked the anchor point to permeate power in, hence unable to reclaim the Immortal Corpse Fragments that appeared after the fall of the fake gods!

These Immortal Corpse Fragments would fall into the hands of other fake gods, making their power increasingly formidable.

For example, the Ear Wisdom God was originally just a piece of the ear bone from the Empyrean Fairy’s carcass. For tens of thousands of years, its disciples continually hunted similar fake gods related to hearing and ear awareness like the Long Eared God, gradually piecing together a complete left ear, making its "Divine Nature and Authority" incredibly strong, surpassing the might of Martial Might God, whom Shen Mo had struggled to defeat for a long time.

This had both positive and negative aspects for Guan Ling.

The positive side was that through mutual slaughter and annexation among fake gods, a large quantity of minute Immortal Corpse Fragments could be gathered in one place.

Initially, the Empyrean Fairy’s left ear might have spawned tens of thousands of fake gods of varying sizes. Defeating weak fake gods like the Long Eared God would only recover a piece of flesh the size of an earlobe at best, while some only a drop of blood or a strip of skin; now that the Ear Wisdom God had nearly pieced together a complete left ear, defeating this fake god would recover a large piece of Immortal Corpse Fragment.

There’s even no need for Guan Ling’s intervention, as after millions of years, the cultivation world might eventually birth a sole fake god, gathering the entirety of the Empyrean Fairy’s carcass in one place!

The downside is that the more "Divine Nature" a fake god possesses, the stronger it becomes, making it more challenging for contracted cultivators to defeat, and thus harder to recover the Empyrean Fairy’s Immortal Corpse Fragments.

If any fake god’s strength surpasses a certain limit within the cultivation world, where even a True Immortal sent in can’t rival it, Guan Ling would no longer have the chance to gather all the Empyrean Fairy’s carcass.

This concern was also considered when Shen Mo discussed terms with Guan Ling previously.

For future settlement of achievements in god-slaying, the standard will be based on ordinary fake gods, with overly weak or overly strong fake gods having their achievements recalculated based on their strength. Recovering over half of the Empyrean Fairy’s left ear by defeating the Ear Wisdom God could be equivalent to defeating thousands of ordinary fake gods.

However, for now, Shen Mo had no immediate intention of confronting the Ear Wisdom God. Its disciples are numerous, and its power exceptionally formidable; using conventional means would be exceedingly difficult and time-consuming!

"The disciples of the Long Eared God are hiding in a desolate place. Attacking them won’t alert disciples of other fake gods. Besides, this god itself isn’t very powerful; I am confident that after becoming its disciple, I could turn against it and subjugate it, preventing the constant loss of primal Essence and Qi!"

Becoming a disciple of a fake god requires the sacrifice of one’s flesh, soul, and even lifespan to borrow divine power from the fake god.

Having divine power would be akin to cultivators cultivating the first strand of Mana within, capable of using various God Path methods corresponding to the fake god’s authority, and also allowing cultivation using techniques passed down by the fake god to further strengthen one’s Essence and Qi.

Nonetheless, whether directly utilizing divine power to execute God Path methods or borrowing divine power for cultivation, the gains are not proportional to the investments.

By sacrificing an equal amount of primal Essence and Qi, Shen Mo could achieve full effect using Sacrificial Magic in the Outer Realm, but borrowing divine power from a fake god would only yield half the effect, with the remaining nine and a half becoming resources for the fake god.

Normally, after becoming a disciple of the Long Eared God, Shen Mo could exchange a massive sacrifice of primal Essence and Qi for strength not weaker than the Formless Realm, but at the cost of...

His original lifespan of more than eight thousand years would dwindle to mere centuries, or even shorter, within the cultivation world; meanwhile, the Long Eared God, having acquired over 90% of his primal Essence and Qi, would see its strength explode by several tiers, potentially challenging even the Ear Wisdom God!

Shen Mo, of course, had no intention of working for someone else. Upon mastering divine power, he would attempt to "counter-devour" the Long Eared God.

Afterward, he would leverage the grudge between the Long Eared God and the Ear Wisdom God, involving himself in the warfare between the two major fake god factions, using it as a breakthrough point to incite a war affecting the entire cultivation world, involving countless fake gods!

Chen Mengze and Jiang Yingying had no objections to his plan, but were slightly worried whether he could successfully subdue this fake god after becoming the Long Eared God’s disciple. After all, God Path and Immortal Path are two fundamentally different systems of power.

Shen Mo was quite confident, though he couldn’t explain this to them due to the Destiny Panel.

The next day, after consuming the nourishing herbal soup prepared by the villagers, the three of them flew towards the wild forests within Qing Country territory, carried by auspicious clouds.

During their journey, they encountered several flying disciples of fake gods, some with wings transformed on their backs, some controlling air currents to lift themselves, and others transforming into flames or clouds floating in mid-air... all were outstanding among the disciples of fake gods.

Shen Mo, not wanting to waste time on them, noted down their appearance locations and propelled the clouds beneath him to avoid them.

Due to the frequent appearance of foreign cultivators everywhere, the strong ones of this world knew it was time for the "Catastrophe of Godfall," which occurs once every few centuries. They tacitly paused conflicts with other forces or factions of fake gods. Seeing Shen Mo and others flying on clouds and being too far away to discern if they had divine power flowing on them, they mistakenly assumed them to be disciples of some fake god, and thus, did not cause trouble!

Only one disciple, whose worshiped fake god was formed from the flesh around the eyes of the Empyrean Fairy, perceived their identity.

Thanks to this, this person’s eyesight was exceedingly sharp, able to see from hundreds of miles away that they had no divine power, knowing the three were not "worshipers" but "Outer Zone Evil Demons." At once, their eyes emitted two sword-like beams striking towards the three.

Realizing their identity and whereabouts were exposed, Shen Mo and the others weren’t polite, immediately descending the clouds to capture this disciple of the fake god alive.

Subsequently, they engraved spiritual marks on his back, forcing him to sacrifice himself, opening the strange space where the fake god he worshiped resided.

Within the "God Realm," Shen Mo, along with Chen Mengze and Jiang Yingying, encountered a fake god resembling a giant eyeball. This god possessed many strange techniques related to vision, but its overall strength was far inferior to Martial Might God. Before Shen Mo could make a move, Chen Mengze and Jiang Yingying charged in and exploded the giant eyeball.

Guan Ling manifested once more within the God Realm through the fake god’s dissipating origin power, retrieving an Immortal Corpse Fragment resembling an eye membrane.

Originally, Chen Mengze and Jiang Yingying could have seized the opportunity to return to the Universal Realm, but they had planned to stay with Shen Mo in the cultivation world to stir up divine wars, earning a large share of god-slaying achievements to exchange for more top-notch resources from Guan Ling, and thus, decided to remain.

Shen Mo and his party did not waste the power sent by Guan Ling, taking Elixirs out in the "crude grass hut" to restore the primal Essence and Qi constantly waning in the cultivation world.
