Chapter 1059: Chapter 1059: Long Eared God (Part 1)

Before leaving the cultivation world, Shen Mo and Chen Mengze assisted the disciples of Godslayer Palace, led by Leader Ma, in relocating the village deeper into the border mountains.

Now, nearly three hundred years have passed, and Leader Ma and others have long turned into dust. Nevertheless, he must have passed down the identity of the Godslayer Palace disciple. Whether that unnamed mountain village is still in place remains unknown.

With this thought, Shen Mo slightly moved his mind, controlling the clouds beneath him to fly towards Thorn Mountain.

After two days, Shen Mo and his companions found the unnamed mountain village in a valley.

The village had once thrived during Shen Mo and Chen Mengze’s active periods, but quickly declined under the suppression of fake god disciples after they left.

Fortunately, the two True Immortals, Yuquan and Hollow Venerable, stirred a great divine war in the cultivation world after entering it. This caused the demise of many fake gods in Qing Country and Ji Country, which haven’t yet recovered. Thus, as a force of Godslayer Palace, the unnamed mountain village was doing better than the dilapidated state seen by Shen Mo and his companion years ago.

As Shen Mo had thought, Leader Ma, who had once welcomed them, had long since died of old age, and even his grave had been buried underground in an earthquake.

Fifty years ago, Leader Ma’s tenth-generation descendant went out collecting herbs but accidentally fell off a cliff and died, leaving no direct bloodline behind, only an adopted son.

The unnamed mountain village has now been renamed Ma’s Village, and the village chief is named Yu, a descendant of the adopted son of Leader Ma’s tenth-generation descendant. Shortly after Leader Ma’s descendant died from the cliff fall, the adopted son reverted to his original surname, and now, four generations later, Village Chief Yu is that adopted son’s great-grandson!

Shen Mo has no favorable impression of Village Chief Yu’s ancestors; they eagerly reverted to their surname after the foster father’s death, effectively ending Leader Ma’s line from a mortal viewpoint.

However, as an outsider, he couldn’t say much.

Village Chief Yu inherited the legacy of Godslayer Palace from his ancestors and is a current disciple of Godslayer Palace. His family still treasures portraits of Shen Mo and Chen Mengze, the two "Immortal Masters."

After Shen Mo and his companions revealed their identities, Village Chief Yu compared the ancestral portraits and believed they were the "Immortal Masters" who descended to the mortal realm centuries ago. As for why there is now an additional Immortal Master, Village Chief Yu wasn’t very concerned!

It’s Shen Mo’s second entry into the cultivation world. The current Godslayer Palace offers limited help to them; coming to Ma’s Village was to find a place to settle and avoid being disturbed by fake god disciples.

Facing Immortal Masters from the Upper Realm, Village Chief Yu was as respectful as Leader Ma had been years ago. He quickly prepared two clean rooms for them to rest and arranged for people to gather herbs that replenish Essence and Qi. He initially intended to offer three hundred years’ worth of accumulated precious metals to forge Divine weapons, but Shen Mo stopped him, as they had brought enough "Divine weapons" and didn’t need the village to provide weapons!

Inside Shen Mo’s room.

A dim oil lamp cast a faint glow, but all three were cultivators, and even without activating their Immortal Dao cultivation, they were far more perceptive than ordinary people.

Shen Mo loosened his robe armor and took out a specially refined beast skin scroll from his pocket, densely filled with words...

When Guan Ling led contracted cultivators out of the cultivation world, she gleaned vast amounts of information about the cultivation world and Deities from them. Over tens of thousands of years, she accumulated deep knowledge about all aspects of this world. Upon formally signing a contract with her, she would provide detailed intelligence so that contracted cultivators wouldn’t be completely in the dark when entering the cultivation world.

The original intelligence had many outdated, erroneous pieces of information. Shen Mo reorganized it and memorized it; the beast skin scroll now contained many key points he noted down.

"To spark off a divine war, targeting the Long Eared God is our primary choice!" Shen Mo pointed to several small words and said to Chen and Jiang.

Through normal routes, slaying a fake god is extremely difficult and convoluted...

One must first locate the disciple closest to the fake god, inscribe a spiritual mark on them, and then employ various means to compel them to sacrifice themselves, activating the spiritual mark using fake god’s power. This grants entry into the "fake god’s domain," and after a grueling battle, one can kill this fake god.

Chen Mengze and Jiang Yingying owed no debt of godslaying achievements to Guan Ling. If unwilling to risk it, they could directly slay a fake god and return to the Immortal Realm.

Yet Shen Mo needs to slay over a hundred thousand fake gods, each one-by-one, even if killing one per day would take nearly three hundred years. Moreover, having lost Immortal Dao cultivation, even special destiny won’t allow him to efficiently hunt fake gods.

He might exhaust his remaining eight thousand years of lifespan, unable to settle the debt, so he must emulate True Immortals Yuquan and Hollow Venerable, inciting a world-spanning divine war in the cultivation world to involve numerous fake gods.

Only then could numerous fake gods fall in the shortest time!

To start a divine war, Shen Mo first must become a disciple of a fake god, otherwise, he could not earn the trust of other disciples.

This raises a new issue... Becoming a fake god disciple requires sacrificing oneself, as the primal Essence and Qi would continuously drain toward the worshipped fake god, resulting in substantial self-loss affecting cultivation realm and lifespan and fortune, possibly leaving one short-lived!

Shen Mo couldn’t sacrifice himself recklessly like True Immortals Yuquan and Hollow Venerable.

However, he already devised a countermeasure, the plan being to support a weakened fake god... In the cultivation world, Deities vary in strength. The powerful possess unfathomable divine might, surpassing even Martial Might God, while the weaker fail to surpass their disciples, and the Long Eared God Shen Mo mentioned is relatively weak.

According to Guan Ling’s intelligence, the Long Eared God possibly incarnated from Empyrean Fairy’s left ear lobe, lacking the strength compared to Martial Might God.

Since the birth of "Deities" from Empyrean Fairy’s corpse, a fake god named Ear Wisdom God has slain many pseudo-gods related to hearing and ear sensation during disciple seizures, leaving Long Eared God and his disciples in a precarious situation. The Long Eared God was a Righteous God but branded as an Evil God; his disciples are further huddled in Qing Country’s wilderness forest, living in fearful existence.

"Do pseudo-gods wage wars among themselves?" Jiang Yingying asked in confusion.

"Naturally! Otherwise, why are there distinctions between Righteous and Evil Gods, why do divine wars occur?"

Pseudo-gods lack independent personalities and gnosis, but their disciples have their own thoughts. All disciples of pseudo-gods hope the authority held by the worshipped "Deity" is supreme and unique.

The pseudo-god disciples will attack and hunt pseudo-gods and their disciples with conflicting authorities, vying for the so-called "Divine Nature"!

The aforementioned "Divine Nature" arose from Empyrean Fairy’s corpse, its flesh, hair, internal organs "nurtured" the pseudo-gods’ authority, each different, and what the disciples actually contest are fragments of her corpse.
