The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard
Chapter 2843
The thought sprang up, and Carson Flores found it hard to resist.
This Jorren Jaramillo was a Master Refiner, renowned as the best in the entire Bitter Sea Immortal Domain. If he could help refine artifacts for Carson, or even teach him the craft, the benefits would be immense!
What would he have to offer in return?
Nothing more than lending some fire!
It’s much like a smoker craving a cigarette, only to find the lighter won’t ignite, then seeking to borrow a flame from someone else, without any loss at all.
Carson Flores quickly analyzed the pros and cons of this situation; currently, he was in the favor of True Sage Grand Void, a friend of Kaelithra Nixon, having just visited Grand Void Mountain. With this background, surely Jorren wouldn’t do anything untrustworthy, would he?
Besides, however formidable Jorren Jaramillo was, he was merely a Peak Great Land True Immortal. If he truly intended something untoward, Snow Zane would soon recover. With the aid of Theo, it would be more than he could handle!
This was Carson’s first encounter with Jorren Jaramillo, so naturally, he thought things through thoroughly. But considering it all, Carson felt this was something worth pursuing!
Jorren Jaramillo found an elder, greeted him, chatted for a while, and then prepared to leave.
Carson Flores sent a message to Kaelithra Nixon: "I’m going out to handle something, accompany me, and don’t let Othric Whitmore follow."
Carson left first, and shortly after, Kaelithra found an excuse to avoid Othric Whitmore and followed.
"What’s this about, so secretive?"
Carson Flores smiled: "What is Sect Master Jaramillo like in terms of character?"
Kaelithra Nixon, slightly puzzled as to why Carson asked this, replied cheerfully, "Highly respected, renowned throughout the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain."
Carson nodded: "I’m planning to discuss a deal with him."
Kaelithra looked at Carson in surprise: "You don’t mean to ask him to help you refine a Flying Sword, do you?"
Carson laughed: "I indeed have that intention. Of course, the specifics depend on how the negotiations go."
Kaelithra asked, puzzled: "If he refines the sword for you, what do you offer him?"
"Isn’t he trying to borrow fire?"
Carson smiled: "I’ll lend him some fire. I brought you along precisely to use Grand Void Mountain’s tiger skin for protection. Just in case he’s tempted by the fire and decides not to return it, or worse, has other thoughts, I’d be done for."
Kaelithra instantly understood Carson’s reasoning and smiled: "Alright, I’ll go with you."
The two walked side by side out, quickly catching up with Jorren Jaramillo in the corridor.
"Sect Master Jaramillo, please wait,"
Jorren Jaramillo stopped in his tracks, turned to look at the two, and smiled: "You must be True Sage Grand Void’s junior disciple, right?"
Kaelithra Nixon saluted: "Junior Kaelithra Nixon, greetings to the elder."
Jorren Jaramillo smiled: "You chased after me, what’s the matter?"
Kaelithra Nixon pointed to Carson: "This is Carson Flores from the Ten Thousand Immortals Domain, highly regarded by my master. He asked me to visit you with him, saying he has business to discuss."
Jorren Jaramillo glanced at Carson, scrutinizing him, only to realize he couldn’t see through Carson at all.
This young man is remarkable!
"Young Flores, what business do you have to discuss with me?"
Carson smiled: "Elder, shall we find a quieter place to talk?"
Jorren Jaramillo, not putting on airs, smiled: "Sure, follow me."
With a wave of his large sleeves, Jorren Jaramillo instantly enveloped the two in an invisible force. Moments later, his body shifted positions, appearing in an open space, now far from Profound White Valley.
Jorren Jaramillo released them, smiling: "No one is here now, what’s the matter?"
Carson stated honestly: "Earlier, I saw the elder looking to borrow fire from True Sage Grand Void and Elder Compton. So I wanted to discuss lending fire with the elder."
Jorren Jaramillo’s eyes lit up: "Do you have Miraculous Fire? A fire of exceptionally high temperature yet extremely stable?"
Carson nodded: "Phoenix Fire."
Since Spectral Elemental Fire wouldn’t suffice and True Solar Fire could invite trouble, Carson opted for Phoenix Fire.
Jorren Jaramillo hadn’t heard of Phoenix Fire, and inquired curiously: "Forgive my ignorance, what kind of fire is Phoenix Fire?"
Carson took out the porcelain bottle holding the Phoenix Fire and released it.
Jorren Jaramillo’s eyes suddenly brightened, instinctively reaching out, but abruptly paused, asking for permission: "May I test it?"
Carson smiled: "Please!"
Jorren Jaramillo might not have known Phoenix Fire, given the plethora of Miraculous Fires in the world and his isolation in the Bitter Sea Immortal Domain, but as a Master Refiner, he naturally had an absolute ability to discern Miraculous Fires.
After a few simple tests, Jorren Jaramillo’s face lit up with immense delight.
"This Phoenix Fire not only has an extremely high melting point but is extraordinarily stable; just a few simple tests brought immense delight to Jorren Jaramillo’s face.
"This Phoenix Fire not only has an extremely high melting point but is extraordinarily stable;
