The Extra who regained his past life memories
Chapter 215 - final adventure before the academy.
I woke up in the morning, got ready, and went to have breakfast with Luna.
Then we talked about today’s plans and how we were going to visit Cecilia.
As soon as we finished breakfast, we left the hotel and were once again on the road. I stretched a little.
"Ahh..."
Luna looked at me with a smile. "Okay, enough stretching. Let’s go."
I nodded and vanished into thin air as I kept pace with Luna.
There was still some distance to the church, so we picked up the pace.
Luna took the lead. Her speed was unquestionable.
If I didn’t have Space as support, I couldn’t even imagine catching up to her.
That only strengthened my determination to become more powerful.
I used my Void Step, becoming like a phantom that appeared and disappeared.
We had already covered a considerable distance by then.
As for our stamina, we recovered much faster than we spent it.
We could maintain this pace for much longer.
And finally, we caught sight of the church. There were quite a lot of people present as well.
We steadied ourselves and looked at each other.
Then we walked towards it. I noticed that we attracted a little attention because of our cloaks, but if we weren’t wearing them, we would have attracted much more attention.
We approached the church, but a Holy Knight stopped us.
"State your purpose."
Luna took the conversation this time and said, "We came to see Cecilia. Is she available?"
The Holy Knight paused for a moment. "You need to meet our Saintess?"
Luna nodded while still wearing her hood.
The Holy Knight frowned a little. "Has the Saintess been notified beforehand, and has a time been arranged?"
My eyes twitched behind Luna.
Luna replied, "No..."
Then the Holy Knight shook his head and said, "Then you can’t meet our Saintess."
But Luna interrupted him.
"But she told me to come and see her anytime. We are friends."
The Holy Knight paused again.
"A friend...? Please state your identity. We can’t allow unknown people to meet the Saintess."
Luna nodded. This was a completely reasonable demand.
She took out her insignia and stated her name.
"My name is Luna, and I’m the third princess of this..."
Before she could even finish, the Holy Knight bowed to her.
"It’s an honor to meet you, Princess. Your presence is always welcome."
All the Holy Knights respectfully bowed.
Then a few of them led us the way while the others remained on guard.
As soon as we entered, we removed our cloaks, revealing Luna’s otherworldly appearance to everyone.
Then Luna asked in her elegant tone, "Is Cecilia busy?"
They nodded and replied, "The Saintess is currently training, Princess Luna."
Luna nodded at that and asked, "Is it okay if we visit her?"
The guards nodded and said, "Lady Cecilia ordered us to let the Princess meet her whenever she pleased, so it’s no problem."
Then they looked at me with questioning gazes.
Luna noticed and introduced me.
"This is my fiancé, Gray. He’s from the Starlight Family."
They nodded and gave me a respectful bow as well.
I nodded, and we went to see Cecilia.
The guards waited outside the door. We gave them a nod before entering the room.
As soon as we entered, a stray Light attack came towards us.
I used Devour to absorb it completely.
I blinked as I looked towards the center of the room, where Aunt Evelyn was training Cecilia.
As soon as they heard our footsteps, they looked at us in surprise.
Cecilia’s eyes lit up.
"Luna..."
Luna simply smiled and waved at her.
"Hello! We were just passing by, so we decided to drop by for a moment."
Cecilia looked at Evelyn and got her permission before running towards Luna.
Her face showed just how excited she was.
As soon as she came closer, Luna noticed that she seemed tired.
So she simply sighed and used her Moon Affinity on her.
"Here, this is my new affinity. Try it."
Cecilia looked at Luna with curiosity as she felt her recovery speed increase massively and her exhaustion fade away.
Her eyes brightened considerably, and she thanked Luna.
Then the first thing she said was, "Wow, you’ve become more beautiful as time goes by."
Luna smiled brightly and replied, "I awakened my physique, so I went through a little change."
Then Aunt Evelyn came over to greet us as well.
We returned her greeting.
While Cecilia talked with Luna, Aunt Evelyn came over to have a conversation with me.
"Hmm, little Gray, what brings you here?"
I smiled at her and explained, "After Amy and Elena went to the academy, we began adventuring. So, when we arrived in this area, Luna suggested that we come and see Cecilia."
Aunt Evelyn nodded and asked, "So, how did your mother and Luna’s mother respond to your little adventure?"
My mouth twitched as I said, "Ah, they didn’t even talk about it."
Aunt Evelyn laughed and asked, "What happened, little Gray?"
I said dramatically, "Aunt Aurelia dumped us while we were returning from the academy and said it was a surprise adventure."
Evelyn blinked in disbelief before laughing the next second.
"Hmm, it seems you’ve had a hard time."
I simply shrugged. "Not really. We just travelled everywhere we wanted, saw many things, and visited many places."
She smiled warmly as we continued our conversation.
Then Luna and Cecilia came over to our side as well.
Evelyn went to talk to Luna while I stayed nearby, but Cecilia came over to my side and started a conversation as well.
We exchanged greetings, and I asked about her training.
She scratched her head awkwardly.
"Ahh, about that..."
"The academy is going to start soon, so I’ve been practising a few offensive spells."
"Until now, I’ve mainly focused on healing and blessings."
I nodded. "Hmm, that explains how that Light Spear came flying towards us."
Her awkwardness intensified as she remembered her sloppy attacks that had gone all over the place and almost hit us.
Then Luna returned as well, accompanied by Evelyn.
Cecilia offered to show us around the church and spend some time together.
But before that, she got permission from Evelyn.
Evelyn didn’t show any disapproval and simply nodded.
Then Cecilia came with us and began showing us many things, explaining how the church worked and so on.
However, even she didn’t take us to certain places. It wasn’t because she couldn’t, but because it wasn’t suitable for us to visit them for now.
We completely understood and shared our adventure stories with her.
She listened calmly, her expression brightening as we talked.
Then Luna looked at her and showed Cecilia the teddy bear I had given her.
"See? This is the birthday gift he gave me today."
Cecilia’s eyes widened as she saw the massive teddy bear. Then she realized something.
"Today is your birthday...?"
Luna nodded, and Cecilia immediately wished her a happy birthday and apologized for forgetting it.
Luna simply waved her hand and said, "Oh, it’s fine. Even I forgot about it until he surprised me this morning."
Cecilia smiled as she looked at the massive teddy bear. Then she said, "Hmm, that teddy bear is adorable."
Luna nodded with shining eyes.
"Isn’t it? I like it a lot."
The conversation continued like that until it was finally time to leave.
Luna gave Cecilia a hug before leaving and told her that they should meet at the academy.
She nodded as I went over and said goodbye to her as well.
Then we once again looked at the map and decided to travel to the Imperial Capital.
It would also take a few months to get there with our way of travelling.
We didn’t simply travel straight to our destination. We went around exploring the surroundings and visiting many cities before arriving at our intended destination.
After saying goodbye to Aunt Evelyn and Cecilia, we began our journey again.
This was our last adventure before the academy.
So we didn’t rush and instead travelled at a leisurely pace.
Luna enjoyed the surroundings while I kept an eye out for monsters.
I couldn’t let her fun fade away, so I created a sharp Ice Spear and made it rotate like a drill, augmenting it with Space Aura.
Then, whenever a monster came closer, I killed it by teleporting the attack towards it.
As for why I couldn’t simply teleport it inside their bodies, it was because they were awakened and covered in mana. I couldn’t just teleport an attack directly inside them.
If I really focused and used most of my mana, I could do it, but it wasn’t worth it.
So we continued our peaceful journey, looking everywhere we could and having pleasant conversations.
