The Extra who regained his past life memories
Chapter 155 - Reword 1
The wyvern screamed and charged toward us in rage.
We spread out around it while keeping our distance, making sure that if someone needed help, we could reach them without being too late.
Elena created a giant crystal, coated it with Light Aura, and threw it toward the wyvern.
The wyvern saw it coming and decided to meet it with a fire attack of its own.
It opened its mouth and unleashed a massive stream of fire.
I took that moment to move behind the wyvern and attacked with Eclipse, augmented with Ice Aura.
I was already using mana to augment my body, so there was no doubt about my physical strength.
But my attack didn’t go through.
It didn’t even damage the wyvern.
Its skin was simply too tough to be damaged by my attack.
My eyes widened, and I immediately backed away toward Luna.
At that moment, Amy threw a massive Ice Spear at it.
It was augmented with Ice Aura and flew straight toward the wyvern’s face.
The wyvern was still preoccupied with Elena’s attack and didn’t have time to react.
The Ice Spear crashed into its face.
The ice began melting from the sheer heat radiating from the wyvern’s body, but it had finally managed to deal some damage.
Then Elena took her sword and rushed toward the wyvern.
Amy didn’t stay back either.
But the wyvern did something none of us expected.
It aimed its attack at the floor and breathed fire directly onto it.
A wave of flames spread across the ground.
Amy and Elena immediately formed shields using Ice and Crystal.
My mind went to only one person.
Luna.
I immediately teleported to her and used Devour on the flames, absorbing all the fire that came toward us.
As for Elara, she had already gone to Amy and Elena’s side, so she was safe as well.
My eyes darkened.
I used Space and Darkness together to form a lethal Abyss Bullet.
I compressed it as tightly as possible, covered it with my Aura, and fired it at the bastard lizard.
The bullet shot forward like a flash of light.
It pierced through the wyvern’s tough skin and began devouring some of its life force.
The wyvern screamed in agony.
Amy and Elena looked slightly surprised when they saw me.
My mana was already getting low, so they immediately went forward and attacked it with their swords, both augmented with Aura.
But suddenly, we were all teleported away into a different room.
I blinked and looked around.
Luna was beside me, and the others were there as well.
Then the big rabbit appeared again.
"Congratulations! Your team has successfully won the final trial."
"You were the last team remaining in the trial, so you will be granted the first-place reward of the Secret Realm."
"You will each receive your reward one by one. Once you’re ready to receive your reward, you can enter the next room."
"But I warn you: don’t even try to take the reward twice. If anyone attempts it, it will end with their death."
Then the rabbit disappeared into thin air.
We looked at each other.
I went to Luna’s side and asked,
"How are you? Did you get any injuries?"
She shook her head.
"I’m completely fine. How about you?"
I spread my arms.
"I’m completely fine as well. No injuries. Even if I did get one, Eclipse would heal me."
She smiled at that.
"Yeah. With your ability, how could you get injured by that thing? It’s only possible if you try to protect someone."
Then Amy came to our side with the others and placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Hmm, little brother, your last attack was amazing. You actually managed to injure that wyvern."
I nodded.
"I poured everything into that attack. You could say that’s the most powerful attack I have right now."
Then I asked the most important question.
"Who is going to get the reward first? Like that rabbit said at the beginning, this is an amazing reward. It can even grant us elements and upgrade our talents."
Amy nodded.
We looked around at each other, and we decided to wait until everyone had recovered to some extent.
Finally, Elena stood up.
"Okay, I’m going first. Anyone have any objections?"
We looked at each other.
No one had any objections.
Elena smiled and turned toward the reward room.
Then Luna called out,
"Good luck, Sister."
Elena smiled at her and entered the room, her white hair disappearing from our view.
I looked at the others and asked,
"What do you think she’s going to receive?"
Amy replied,
"I think she’ll definitely get an element if that rabbit wasn’t lying."
Luna thought about it as well before replying,
"Yeah. Her talent is good, so she must get a new element."
"I hope I get a new element as well."
I raised an eyebrow.
"Why? Aren’t two elements enough?"
She glared at me.
"You have three, but we only have two. Of course we need more elements. That way, we can be more versatile."
I joked,
"What if you get an element like Earth? It’s similar to Ice and won’t give you much."
Her glare intensified.
"If that happens, I’ll drop a boulder on you. Humph!"
Amy watched us and laughed.
"Oh, I would love to see how my little brother acts when a boulder falls on him."
I glared at her.
"I’ll cut the boulder in two or blast it into pieces."
Then I looked at Elara and asked,
"What do you want from this Secret Realm, Elara?"
Everyone turned their attention toward her.
She thought for a moment before replying,
"I’d prefer a talent upgrade. I have an S-rank talent, but it can become even higher."
We nodded.
Amy then asked,
"What do you want, little brother?"
I thought for a moment.
"I don’t know either. A new element would be nice, or maybe something else that can help me."
Luna chimed in,
"Another element? You already have three! Isn’t that enough? Don’t be so greedy, Gray."
I rebutted,
"It’s always good to have more options. And who refuses free power?"
"And I’m greedy. I’m not denying that. I believe one must be greedy. Otherwise, other people will come and take everything away without you even noticing."
Luna tilted her head.
"But I’ve never seen you try to take things from us."
I smiled.
"That’s because you guys are different. I’m not taking anything from you guys. But other people are a different story."
"Didn’t you notice? Every time someone challenged me, I started with a bet. Then I chased them out and got everything I could from them."
She remembered all the bets.
The dragon’s blood, the mana stone mine, and the money.
An involuntary smile appeared on her face.
Then I turned to Amy and asked,
"What do you want, Amy? That rabbit said we can get what we desire from there, or something close to it."
Amy nodded.
"Hmm, as for me, I want another element as well. But if I get one, I’ll have to practice from the beginning and change my moves to create better ones. I’ve already made some preparations for other elements."
I tilted my head.
"What do you mean? Isn’t it impossible to get an element unless you’re born with it?"
Amy nodded.
"That’s true. But once we become SS-rank, we can access other elements as well. Not perfectly, though, and it’s really hard to attain them."
"Space is basically impossible to attain if you weren’t born with an affinity for it. You can use parts of the element, but not as well as someone who awakened with it naturally. However, at SS-rank, you can control Concepts. That’s one of the requirements for reaching SS-rank."
I became even more confused.
"Is it like the Law thing you mentioned before?"
Amy nodded.
"When you reach S-rank, you need to form a Domain. At SS-rank, you need to master a Concept."
"As for SSS-rank, you need to master a Law of the world itself. You can master any Law, but if you choose something unrelated to you, it’s incredibly difficult to learn. You might not even master it in your lifetime."
"You’ll have a much easier time mastering a Law or Concept that aligns with your element or something related to you."
I listened to her and gained a better understanding of the world’s power system.
Then I asked,
"So, in the end, anyone can use Space?"
She simply tapped my forehead.
"Didn’t you listen to a word I said, Gray?"
"Space is an extremely difficult element to master. Even people who are born with an affinity for Space struggle to understand it. So how do you think other people can simply master it?"
"With an element like Water, you know the fundamentals and can try to master it. Most people with good talent who put in enough effort can eventually master it, although it’s still very difficult."
"But Space is in a completely different realm."
I listened to her.
Even the others listened closely to her explanation.
This was new information for all of us.
