The Extinction Healer of the Beast Husbands
Chapter 78: Ch 78. Miss Tyra?
Selena was putting away some herbal remedies she had made when she suddenly thought of Dorven. He was her quietest and most composed husband; Selena felt she was paying too much attention to her other husbands and neglecting Dorven.
Perhaps it was time for her to visit his palace, to find out what Dorven was doing and determine whether treating him was urgent or not.
"Your Majesty, what are you thinking about that made you stop preparing the remedies?" asked Vee as she helped Selena tidy up her remedies.
"Nothing. I’m going to the Lion’s palace today. I’m curious about what he’s doing to help—if there’s anything urgent he needs from me," Selena said, then stood up. "Please organize the rest; I want to change my clothes."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Before long, Selena was walking calmly toward the man’s palace. It had been two days since she’d received the healing—or restoration of her life energy—from Stoner. She’d rested enough and even intended to announce to her husbands who the second one was who had the right to make love to her.
However, some of her other husbands were busy attending to their official duties. Selena also didn’t want to be the first to bring it up, so she decided to let it be for now. Besides, they weren’t pressuring her, so she didn’t want to say much.
"Your Majesty, you’ve arrived," said the Lion guard who greeted her politely. "Should I inform the King of your presence?"
Selena raised an eyebrow. "Is he here?" she asked calmly.
"Yes, the King is reviewing several business matters and official affairs from the Lion territory. There are some reports from envoys he needs to review; he hasn’t left his office all day," the guard said, causing Selena to nod.
"In that case, I’ll just go straight there—don’t tell him about this. He’s been displaying too many exaggerated expressions and behaviors these past few days; I’m worried he’s not the same as he used to be," Selena said, causing the guard to nod and show her the way.
Selena smiled and strolled casually into the Lion Palace grounds. The area turned out to be quite lush, clearly featuring several elements of a wild forest that had been deliberately preserved. As a lion, Dorven was indeed meant to live in a world like this—after all, he was the King of the Jungle.
But since he was a Beast King—a half-human, half-beast—he had no choice but to follow all the rules established by the Eldoria World Court to live like the other beastkin.
"The Queen is here? My goodness, that’s quite a surprise," said one of the servants, bowing politely as she passed by.
That made Selena raise an eyebrow; she found this visit surprising because it was so unusual. But her memory reminded her that even the previous owner of this body rarely came to the palace because Dorven didn’t feel pressured by his curse.
The man considered the time he’d been given to be ample, so he didn’t want to pressure Selena too much into having intimate relations. But the point was, he was still one of the men who had pushed for Selena to be sentenced to death for showing no signs of her powers.
"The Queen is here—why didn’t you report it? Goodness, Miss Tyra is in the King’s private chambers, bothering him. The Queen might get the wrong idea if she sees them," said another servant as Selena passed by.
Selena stopped when she heard the name Tyra—Miss Tyra. Wait a minute—that name wasn’t in her old memories. Who was that woman?
"Oh my gosh, Her Majesty the Queen just stopped! Oh no, did she hear what I said?" the servant asked anxiously.
"You did speak rather loudly; she must have heard you," her friend replied, and they both bowed their heads as Selena stepped back and turned to face them.
"Excuse me, could I get some information about what you were saying?" Selena asked politely, her relaxed gaze causing the servant to lift her head hesitantly.
"Your Majesty, are you asking me?" she asked in a trembling voice.
Selena, realizing that this lion-eared woman with golden hair—a hallmark of the Lion Clan—was frightened, immediately nodded.
"Yes, I’m asking you because I accidentally overheard you mention Miss Tyra’s name in the Lion King’s private chambers. May I ask who she is? Why does it seem like she’s so close to the Lion King?" Selena asked, deliberately maintaining a calm and gentle expression so the lion servant wouldn’t be frightened.
Besides, she needed answers, because she didn’t know everything that went on here. Each of her husbands had their own problems, and Selena didn’t fully understand them all yet. She didn’t want to act impulsively by flying off the handle for no clear reason.
She’s the queen and the lawful wife, okay? Not some teenage girl who’d confront a woman who has a crush on her husband.
"Miss Tyra is King Lion’s cousin; you could say they grew up together since childhood, so Miss Tyra has had a crush on King Lion for a long time," said the servant, looking timid. "Miss Tyra’s father holds a position of responsibility in the formation of the Lion Army. So you could say they have a hold over King Singa."
"That’s why, all this time, King Singa hasn’t been able to reject her outright or make Miss Tyra back off—because he’s worried that doing so might cause Miss Tyra’s father to rebel, leading him to mobilize the hundreds of thousands of Lion Army troops under his command," the servant explained at length.
Selena nodded. "No wonder he seems to have no time to visit or pester me. He has very serious problems within his own palace," Selena muttered, causing the servant to nod.
"Besides, Miss Tyra always prevents the King from visiting you, Your Majesty. It seems she’s doing this on purpose so the King never recovers and remains under their control. That’s why the King can only stay inside the palace and handle the issues brought to him by his envoys. You could say that King Lion is currently in the midst of a silent coup—no one realizes it because everyone is too busy with their own affairs," the servant added, causing Selena to sigh.
She thanked the servant and walked away. Vee, who was following her, asked cautiously after hearing what the lion servant had explained.
"Your Highness, this issue seems bigger than the conflicts you’ve had with the Old Fox King, Miss Briella, or Amena Cots. It involves military matters—or troops—that are absolutely crucial. They’re also insiders and, you could say, members of the Lion Royal Family; getting involved in their family affairs is likely to be complicated," Vee said worriedly, making Selena smile.
"You’re right, this will be very complicated. It turns out I came to this world not just to be a healer of extinction, but also to be an advisor and a helpful person in resolving the problems of these foolish kings who can’t manage their own affairs." Selena sighed, then stretched out both her hands until her knuckles cracked.
"So you’re still going to meddle?"
"Yes, I happen to like meddling. Besides, I’m not just anyone, am I? I’m King Singa’s lawful wife—let me help him this time. But first, let me see if he even needs my help," said Selena, making Vee nod in agreement.
"After spending a few days with you, serving you, and seeing how capable you are at handling problems, I’m sure this matter will also be resolved easily," Vee said, making Selena smile. "I believe you’ll definitely be able to handle it well."
"Yeah, if I fail, I’ll just have to learn from my mistakes," Selena replied casually, until they finally arrived at Dorven’s private office.
The door wasn’t completely closed. Selena stopped at the doorway and saw a sexy, beautiful girl wearing revealing clothing sitting with Dorven, who was staring blankly at the documents in his hand.
"Your Highness, I’ve been here for a while now, waiting for you to have an afternoon snack together. You’ve been turning down my invitations since lunch—don’t just ignore me like this..." the woman said, her voice sounding spoiled.
She was probably Tyra, the girl the servant Singa had mentioned earlier.
"You’ve been ignoring me for days now—are you hoping your Queen will come to keep you company? She’s never cared about you and has never even treated you. Are you still pinning your hopes on her? How can you be so foolish, Your Majesty?"
"I’m here with you every day, keeping you company and always waiting for you to come home. Why not just open your heart to me? Your queen wouldn’t even know if I became your mistress," Tyra said again, making Selena smile slightly.
The girl seemed to keep teasing Dorven—holding his hand, massaging his shoulders, and speaking in a coquettish yet provocative tone. But Dorven didn’t care at all; his gaze never once turned toward Tyra, and his gestures even showed disgust as he brushed her hand away.
"Your Majesty... What’s wrong with showing me a little respect? Let’s just try a secret relationship for now—no one will find out. You’re lonely, aren’t you? I can keep you company and satisfy you well. The Queen won’t care anyway..." Tyra said again, resuming her whining and flirting.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk," Selena clicked her tongue as she walked in gracefully.
Dorven immediately looked up in disbelief upon hearing Selena’s voice in his room, as did Tyra, whose eyes widened in shock at her arrival.
"Miss Tyra, you’re quite the expert at playing the little slut in front of someone else’s husband, aren’t you? I’m quite impressed..."
