The Extinction Healer of the Beast Husbands

Chapter 77: Ch 77. Stoner’s Statement

  • Next Chapter

Selena, who had been listening, finally let out a sigh. "All right, I’ll try to limit my time away from the palace. But I’m actually not that weak—yesterday I just ran out of energy from doing too much, which is why I fainted. Now I’m feeling much better—I could even knock out the Wolf King’s Second Uncle," Selena replied casually, making Janson’s eyes widen.

He looked at Stoner, who immediately nodded. "That’s true—even I’ve never been able to defeat my uncle, but she did. Selena is actually very strong; after she awoke as the Healer of Extinction, she gained various ways to protect herself," he said, making Janson swallow hard.

Could it be true that this woman—with her slender figure and elegant, graceful appearance—could defeat the Second Wolf Lord? For years, Stoner had been in conflict with his father and his two uncles; they’d been locked in a back-and-forth struggle, each taking turns winning and losing, but none had ever truly emerged victorious.

On several occasions, Stoner had even had to return home with fairly severe injuries, yet as the Wolf King, he hadn’t even been able to bring his father or uncles to their knees. It was quite shocking that Selena had managed to knock that man unconscious.

"But as the leader of the Eagle military forces said, it really is better for you to minimize your time away from the palace," Stevan said seriously, causing his other husband to nod in agreement. "If there’s anything you want to do, just ask someone else. Whoever you need is willing to come see you because you’re the queen. Your safety is more important than anything else, Queen. Don’t put yourself in danger."

"That’s right, we’re not underestimating you—in fact, we’re all starting to realize just how strong you are. But we don’t want what happened last night to happen again; once was enough. Let the authorities handle this; you should just rest and enjoy life peacefully in the palace," Vylen said, causing Selena to sigh.

"All right, I don’t want to cause any trouble either. I’ll stay at the palace, but it seems that if he really wants to kidnap me to bring me before his king, I won’t just stand by and do nothing," Selena said, causing all five—or rather, all six—of them to breathe a sigh of relief.

Selena casually looked at Janson, who also seemed relieved. Selena knew that as members of the Eagle Clan, they were trained every day to protect and ensure the safety of all Eldoria’s citizens. The problem was that while everyone else was safe, Selena was the one being targeted—and naturally, their sense of responsibility multiplied many times over because this woman was the only Queen in Eldoria.

"All right, that’s all I wanted to say. There isn’t much information yet, but if anything else comes up, I’ll come report it," the man said, making Selena smile and nod.

"Thank you so much for helping me yesterday. If anything happens to you, come to me. I’ll do my best to help," Selena said sincerely, making Janson smile.

"Of course, Your Majesty. Protecting you is our duty and obligation, as directly ordered by the Young Master. You don’t need to worry; we protect everyone," he said, making Selena smile.

She stood up and saw Janson off, followed by her five husbands. After the man flew away so quickly, Selena watched the sky but saw nothing more after he had left.

"The Eagle Clan is truly formidable. Even their new squad leader is incredibly capable. I’m curious about the strength and abilities of Young Master Hawksen as the heir to the title of God of War," Selena said candidly, even though she knew her husbands were right beside her.

"Of course, Young Master Hawksen is even more formidable, with unmatched abilities within the Eagle Clan, Your Majesty. He is of pure blood and was destined to become a military commander and a great general; that title automatically falls to him since Grand Master Hawksen—his father—has passed away," said Vee, offering a response that made Selena murmur in admiration.

"The woman who becomes his wife must be very lucky—to have a husband who’s strong yet gentle. He’s so gentle and kind to me; he’ll surely be even better to his partner," said Selena, making Vee smile and nod.

"That’s for sure—any woman would be very lucky."

"It’s such a shame it’s not me—"

"Ahem!"

Almost simultaneously, her five husbands cleared their throats loudly. Their antics made Selena turn her head, her eyebrows raised as if asking a question with an innocent expression.

"In front of your husbands, how can you admire another man, Queen?" John said gently and cautiously.

"You’re behind me, not in front of me," Selena said casually, silencing them. "Besides, there’s nothing wrong with me praising another man—I’m just praising him, not asking him to marry me."

They seemed to let out a heavy sigh. "Come inside and get some rest, Queen. Standing for too long might cause your condition to take a turn for the worse again, just like last night," Stevan said gently. "After today, you won’t be able to go anywhere because the situation is dangerous, so enjoy your time resting. There’s no need to worry about anything—all your needs will be well taken care of."

Selena sighed. "I’m already better and not that weak—don’t treat me like a baby, as if I were as fragile as glass," she snapped, making them take notice. "Go handle your work; I want to rest in my room."

Her five husbands nodded, letting her go, and none of them moved to accompany her. Selena was in a rather bad mood, so they didn’t want to make the wrong decision and cause a big problem.

"Sometimes I want to thank that Young Master Hawksen and hate him at the same time," Stevan grumbled with a look of resentment.

"You’re right—Selena seems to like that guy. It’s so annoying to hear her praise Dali Hawksen right in front of us," Jhon replied, joining in the jealousy.

"You guys seem to be overreacting a bit," replied Stoner, who was casually folding his arms behind them.

The four men turned to look at him; he was already smiling slightly.

"What do you mean, Wolf King?"

"Selena is a woman who has changed since she rose to become the Healer of Extinction. Her nature is certainly different now than it used to be; she’s become an ordinary woman who admires handsome men—especially since that man is her savior. Dali Hawksen is her savior, so she praises him like someone in love—that’s why she acts this way now," he said calmly, causing the four men there to exchange glances.

"You just let your wife admire another man, Wolf King?"

"She’s just admiring him, but she knows her place and what she’s supposed to do. I know how she thinks—it’s as if she’s deliberately trying to make us jealous." Stoner shrugged and gave a small smile.

"She’s a sweet wife, especially when she spent the night with me last night. She was so sweet and obedient, but now she’s back to playing hard to get—she’s doing it on purpose to test us. If we truly love and want her, we’ll do whatever it takes to keep her from leaving."

"Don’t you guys know she’s already given us a choice? After each of us has made love to her, we’re free to part ways with her or do whatever we want. Selena also didn’t ask us to stay with her constantly, pamper her, or obey her every whim—she never forced that on us. From the start, we were the ones who wanted to do it because we thought she was starting to be useful," Stoner said at length, causing them to let out heavy sighs.

"You’re healed," Dorven said, causing Stoner to look at him. "Do you intend to divorce Selena, Wolf King?"

Stoner gave a small smile. "No, she and I are bound as mates; there will be no separation between us," he replied casually yet firmly, causing them to look at him as he smiled again. "Even if you two choose to set her free—to part ways with her—even though divorce isn’t permitted in Eldoria, I’m the only one who will continue to consider her my wife."

"I have no intention of divorcing her either."

"That’s right, I don’t intend to either. She’s a delightful woman now that she’s risen as the Healer of Extinction. Even though she’s a bit arrogant and outspoken, her heart is truly sincere and full of feeling."

"Yes, besides, we’re destined to be with her. The gods say we won’t be able to have children with anyone but her. It’d be a total waste of time for me to look for another woman and get nowhere."

"I have no intention of divorcing her; I’m actually trying to win over her heart, which feels as high as the sky. I’ll love her, and she’ll love me too."

Stoner smiled slightly as he listened to their words. Finally, he turned around and said, "Well, good luck. Although I do hope you two give up so she can be mine alone," he said pointedly.

The four men glared at Stoner as he walked away, clearly displeased, but they knew sharing a wife wasn’t easy. They had to be patient and understand one another, because Selena truly couldn’t belong to just one King.

They all needed her, and she was the only woman they could marry because she possessed superior qualities compared to the other women of Eldoria.

After the Beast Kings dispersed to attend to their duties, Selena emerged from behind the room, where she had been eavesdropping quietly the whole time.

"Your Majesty, the Kings truly have no intention of divorcing you."

Selena snorted softly. "But none of them have admitted to loving me either."
