The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 649 - 647: Schrödinger’s God
"Th-Thank you."
Hai Wei’er was still shaken and expressed her thanks repeatedly.
Although she felt the Magic Puppet’s speaking manner was very different from Hilia’s, in her fearful state, she didn’t notice the difference.
Others also noticed the situation here. Aiman looked at Hai Wei’er, "What are you doing?"
Hai Wei’er shook her head in confusion, "I don’t know, just a strange feeling, making me want to touch this thing..."
Her heartbeat was still very fast at the moment, but it was no longer matching the frequency of the enormous monster’s sound, slowly calming down.
While Aiman was questioning Hai Wei’er, Hilia was quietly asking Rose.
"Master Rose, is it settled?"
"Yes." Rose’s apparition nodded.
It was he who had just stopped Hai Wei’er, seeing her recklessly reaching out, he controlled the Magic Puppet to pull her back, preventing her from touching the ’heart’ monster in front.
"Did Miss Hai Wei’er encounter something?" Hilia asked curiously.
"Her situation is somewhat special, mm, something inside her resonated with this big fellow. These things, perhaps, have to do with the Recovery Temple."
"Recovery Temple?"
Hilia blinked.
Speaking of the upcoming Beast Tide, it was triggered by the Recovery Temple. Does Hai Wei’er have anything to do with the Recovery Temple?
"No relation, you can ask her if she has ever entered the Recovery Temple and received treatment there."
"Hmm..."
Hilia understood.
"Is it the Recovery Temple’s treatment of her, that special life essence, resonating with this monster?"
"More or less."
Rose nodded.
Seeing Hilia’s enlightened expression, Rose smiled slightly.
"Why do you think after being treated by the Recovery Temple, she would have a peculiar resonance with this thing?"
"Because..."
Hilia was stuck, her mind flashing through various thoughts quickly.
After a moment, she had a sudden realization, "It relates to the Gods?"
"Correct." Rose nodded, directly telling Hilia the origin of the meat mountain monster before her: "This thing, the raw material is Haroldias’ heart."
"What?!"
Hilia’s eyes widened sharply.
Even though she had followed Rose for so long and accepted various worldview-shattering news, Hilia was still shocked by this.
"The heart of the God of Life and Death... Is he dead?"
"Having the power to control life and death, Haroldias isn’t that easy to kill." Rose smiled slightly, "Of course, right now he’s Schr?dinger’s God. You say he’s alive, but he looks dead, yet if you say he’s dead, he doesn’t seem to be; if he were dead, those servants wouldn’t be trying so hard."
"Schr- Schr?dinger?"
"Don’t mind it, you can just consider Haroldias is in a state of superposition of life and death, and until we truly confirm him, his life and death cannot be detected."
"Alright."
Aiman was approaching with Hai Wei’er, looking at Hilia’s Magic Puppet, and then asked, "Miss Xi, have you found anything?"
Hilia paused her exchange with Rose, looked at the still beating heart of the gods, a complicated look flashing across her face. After pondering for a moment, she said, "This thing is one of the core components of this underground area. Its function is equivalent to a human heart, transporting pollution power across the entire underground tunnel, adding a life element barrier to freshly absorbed pollution."
She didn’t reveal that it was Haroldias’ heart, she only stated that it was the core part of the underground world, explaining the function of this massive ’heart’ monster.
After hearing this, Aiman frowned, looking at the violently beating monster, "So, if we destroy this thing, can the flowing pollution underground stop, thereby resolving the crisis here?"
Hilia shook her head, "It’s unlikely... I mean, we can’t destroy this thing."
After all, this was created by the Gods, how could it be something the Mages present could destroy?
Hilia murmured silently.
No wonder the Female Mage from the Recovery Temple referred to the god who ’killed’ Haroldias as the Evil God; this action was truly evil.
Based on various clues, Hilia thinks the ’Evil God’ is likely God King Zeus, whom Rose mentions often.
Perhaps.
Anyway, after all this time, Hilia has accepted this setting.
Everything Rose has done until now has already made her accept Rose as the god wrongfully labeled as the Evil God, yet truly caring for the world.
Whether or not this is the case, she’d find the answer in due time.
Only then... Hilia felt she was past the point of return.
No, even now she’s past the point of return.
"Can’t destroy it?"
Aiman frowned at the giant heart monster, eager to try.
He looked at Hilia again, "Miss Xi, have you tried attacking it during your investigation?"
Hilia knew what he meant, nothing more than wanting to try and see if it can be destroyed, but worrying that attacking it would cause some negative effects.
As a member of the investigation team, boldness and caution are both necessary.
Before acting, if needed, he wanted to be fully prepared.
"No problem, you can go ahead and try."
Hilia said, paused, and looked outside at the group of demons still rampaging, she added, "But, quickly, after the investigation is done, we need to leave."
"Alright."
Aiman nodded, immediately controlling the Magic Puppet to rush forward, unleashing magic power, a spell hit the huge monster heavily.
Boom!
The magical aftermath even caused a cavity to form around the explosion area.
The monster seemed to shudder slightly, its thumping sound growing more urgent.
When the dust settled, the unharmed monster appeared before everyone.
No different than before being attacked.
The only difference was the demons’ attack rhythm had quickened, some demons even approached the giant monster as if trying to start an attack from inside.
"See, no use." Hilia said.
Aiman tightly stared at the monster, also perceiving from the elemental level.
After a moment, he said, "If this thing can be destroyed, maybe we can eliminate this large hidden danger."
It would also cause severe pollution leakage. Hilia thought to herself.
Hilia didn’t say it.
Because destroying this ’heart’ also means destroying this underground Array.
A strong entity capable of destroying the Array likely has the power to resolve these pollutants.
At least for ordinary Mages, it’s impossible.
Maybe only by requesting a legendary Mage who surpasses human limits, there might be a slight chance.
Seeing Aiman still surveying, Hilia said, "Alright, Lord Aiman, Elina and I will be going first, we won’t interrupt your research further."
Aiman snapped back, startled, quickly said, "No, let’s leave together."
With so many demons, they don’t have the ability to deal with them.
Better follow Hilia’s lead.
