Chapter 2569 We are Adam!
Chapter 2569 We are Adam!
Adam's body bounced off the ground with such force that it felt as though every bone in his spine might shatter. Yet there was no time to dwell on pain. Anark was already descending from the sky, his figure cutting through the air like a falling star, intent on crushing the Curse Eater beneath overwhelming force.
Adam's eyes widened as instinct screamed at him, and just in time, an explosive burst of energy erupted from the soles of his feet,
propelling him out of the impact zone.
Unfortunately for Adam, escape did not mean safety. Before he could fully regain his balance, Anark closed the distance in an instant and seized his left leg with an iron grip. Adam clenched his teeth as jets of flame burst forth from his feet once more, the searing heat scorching the flesh of Anark's arm.
However, the True Primordial showed no intention of letting go. Tightening his hold, he lifted Adam into the air and slammed him into the ground with devastating force, cracks spreading across the surface beneath them like a shattered mirror.
Adam coughed up a mouthful of blood as the impact drove the air from his lungs and made his internal organs quiver in pain. Before he could recover, Anark hurled his body forward with relentless brutality.
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
Adam's form crashed through streetlights and structures alike, each
collision worsening the fractures within his body. The sounds of destruction echoed across the landscape as debris scattered in all directions.
Anark's eyes narrowed as he observed the extent of Adam's injuries. The battle had been far from easy-Adam's flames and explosive techniques carried undeniable Fourth Realm power, capable of scorching his flesh-but something felt off.
The Fourth Realm Curse Eater and King of the Tenth Empyrean World was far weaker than expected.
The True Primordial had anticipated some level of weakness after Adam sent so many of the Tenth Empyrean World's high-level Alpha Omega Overgod into the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, but this degree of vulnerability was surprising. Still, Anark was not one to question fortune when it favored him. A cold smile spread across his face as killing intent surged within him. Without hesitation, he leapt forward, intent on ending the battle.
At the last possible moment, Adam twisted his body midair, regaining control and narrowly evading the incoming strike. Landing lightly despite his injuries, he adopted a battle stance, golden light flickering within his eyes. Anark did not slow. He rebounded from the ground and lunged once more, the Void Primordial Force surging through his
arms.
Both fists collided the next second, a burst of flames hotter than any second collided with a blast of violet plasma that could freeze the fire of a supernova. The attacks match their strength for a moment, but not even a heartbeat later, Adam's eyes twitched due to the pain of his cracked bones.
Anark did not lose his chance, pushing Adam's fist away and landing a ferocious hook in the next second, right into the left ribs. Adam's released a mouthful of blood, only for Anark's kick to land the next second, sending him rolling through the cracked ground.
Adam's wounds were already hindering his battle power, but there
was no time to rest, as the True Primordial already lunged forward. The Curse Eater began to gather energy for another explosive counter, but then a dangerous glint flashed through his eyes.
Instead of attacking, Adam clasped his hands together and summoned the Golden Lotus. Thirty-three radiant petals unfolded around him, forming a luminous barrier.
Anark frowned. He had already demonstrated the ability to break through that defense. Why summon it again?
The answer came an instant later.
Anark's eyes widened as he looked up. From the sky above, missiles composed of burning crystal and metal descended upon them, streaking through the air like meteors.
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"
A massive explosion engulfed the area, the force of it causing nearby buildings to tremble and crack. Flames and shockwaves spread outward, consuming everything in their path. Moments later, Anark burst from the inferno, landing atop the roof of a nearby structure. Burn marks covered parts of his body, but he ignored both them and the lingering pain as his gaze locked onto a figure hovering in the sky. Defying gravity on Earth was no simple feat, yet this figure did not rely on levitation alone. A pair of real, tangible wings extended from his back, carrying him effortlessly through the air.
He resembled a fierce, otherworldly being-a devil-like entity with glowing golden eyes and a confident, almost predatory smile. Jagged crystalline formations protruded from his arms, radiating fiery light as though constantly forming and shattering. At the center of his chest. burned a brilliant core, like a miniature sun pulsing with unstable, raw
energy.
His entire existence exuded volatility-creation and destruction intertwined in an endless cycle.
Anark's fists clenched as realization struck him. The being in the sky
and the one he had been fighting on the ground... they were the same entity.
The True Primordial knew that Curse Eaters were beings composed of multiple souls, and that powerful ones could manifest more than one body. Still, he had assumed the Adam he fought contained the entirety of those souls. That assumption had been wrong.
There were at least two enemies before him now, and both radiated the unmistakable aura of Fourth Realm life forms.
And an even more unsettling possibility lingered in his mind-that the young man he had been fighting might only be one Aspect, while the true core of Adam had yet to reveal itself.
The airborne Adam observed the fading flames and gave a slight nod, clearly satisfied that the Golden Lotus had shielded his counterpart from the collateral damage. His attacks were immensely powerful, but controlling their destructive range was not always precise.
Slowly, the winged Adam turned his gaze toward Anark. The smile remained on his face, a seemingly permanent feature, yet his eyes betrayed a hint of sadness.
"I truly wish you had not come here," he said, his voice calm yet heavy. "Killing old friends is something I had hoped never to do again."
Anark sneered, his eyes blazing with fury and killing intent.
"I don't care about the feelings of a mere Aspect," he replied coldly.
"You weren't even there when it happened. Where is the real Adam?
Or is he too afraid to face me himself?"
The flying Adam shook his head.
"You are mistaken," he said quietly. "I may be an Aspect, but I am also
Adam. I am the one who fought alongside you billions of years ago. To reach the Fourth Realm, one's will and ego must be flawless. Other Curse Eaters may have discrepancies between themselves and their Aspects... but not me."
Below them, the Golden Lotus dissolved into particles of light as the Adam on the ground rose to his feet. His expression mirrored that of his counterpart as he spoke.
"Each of us possesses a mind, a body, and a personality," he said. "Yet each of us is also Adam. Where I come from, they might call this... multiple personality disorder."
Then, in perfect unison, both figures spoke, their voices merging into
a single echo that resonated across the battlefield:
"We are Adam!"
