Chapter 2477: The war between the Realms started
Jasmir’s eyes narrowed as she listened to Cain’s proposal.
She could feel his strength—there was no denying that. The fact that he had managed to approach her unnoticed, despite her exceptional perception abilities, was impressive. Few warriors of her level could have been caught off guard like that.
However, she had not been chosen for this mission because she was the strongest.
There were many warriors within the Immortal Nirvana Kingdom far more powerful than her. And in her mind, even if the Scarlet King possessed unusual abilities, someone from the Ninth Realm could never compare to the true elites of the higher Realms of Paradise.
Every doubt, every calculation, every flicker of caution passing through her thoughts was laid bare before Cain.
Through the Flow, the movements of her mind were as clear as ripples on still water.
Yet he only smiled faintly.
With a casual wave of his hand, the invisible restraints vanished, allowing her to regain full control of her body. At the same time, he tossed a small crystal toward her.
"I understand that associating with someone from a foreign Realm may be beyond your authorization level," Cain said calmly. "Feel free to contact your superiors. If they’re interested, use the crystal to reach me."
Jasmir caught it, studying him for a moment before giving a small nod.
Then she vanished.
She maintained her concealment techniques, but once she was out of sight, her speed increased dramatically. She moved farther and farther away from the Scarlet King—and from any strongholds of the Eternal Soul Kingdom—until she reached a remote region where no major forces operated.
Only then did she allow herself to relax.
A thoughtful expression crossed her face as she began to analyze Cain’s offer. But after a moment, she shook her head dismissively.
"Sooner or later, the Ninth Realm will be forced to surrender its fragment of the Sacred Treasure," she muttered. "There’s no point getting involved with someone like—"
Her words stopped.
Her eyes widened.
A sword tip had emerged from her chest.
Shock and horror froze her expression.
Her Royal Blutlinie nature reacted. Instinctive defensive mechanisms activated as her energy exploded outward, attempting to counterattack.
It lasted less than a second.
A torrent of white flames flooded her bloodstream, spreading through her body, freezing every atom and particle in absolute stasis.
Her power died.
Her movement ceased.
Her consciousness faded.
Behind her, Cain withdrew the Blade of the End of Times in a smooth motion. He caught her body before it could fall and disappeared, vanishing without a trace.
Before leaving, he burned away every residual fluctuation of their energies and auras. Even if someone later detected that a battle had occurred, there would be nothing to identify the participants—no signature, no direction, no trail to follow.
Half an hour later, Cain reappeared above what looked like a tranquil lake.
The surface was calm and mirror-like.
But the water was anything but ordinary.
It was a phenomenon born from the Omen of Time. The moment an ordinary being approached it, their lifespan would begin to erode, their existence slowly worn away by temporal decay.
For Cain, however, it was ideal.
Thanks to his mastery over the Omen of Time, the lake posed no danger to him. More importantly, it was a place few would dare approach—a perfect hiding location.
He descended through the waters until he reached the bottom.
Only then did he turn his attention back to Jasmir.
The Quietus Force had preserved her exactly as she was after falling unconscious. The horror in her eyes remained, frozen.
Cain shook his head slightly.
The truth was that her fate was sealed the moment he found her.
The reason he hadn’t killed her immediately was simple: he wasn’t certain he could eliminate her before she released her full power. In the current state of war, the Eternal Soul Realm’s forces were extremely sensitive to any abnormal energy fluctuations. Even the smallest outburst could trigger a large-scale investigation.
Secrecy was essential.
That was why he had approached her first.
When he made contact, he had already marked her with Karma. Even after he released the restraints, the karmic threads remained attached, subtly disturbing her instincts and perception.
They would not stop her.
But they made it impossible to feel Cain’s presence.
As for his offer of cooperation with the Immortal Nirvana Kingdom...
That had been a lie.
Cain had not come to the Eternal Soul Realm to form alliances.
He had come to kill.
To grow stronger.
Working alongside the Nirvana agents might have provided temporary cover, but it would also restrict his freedom. At best, they would slow him down. At worst, they would try to turn him into a tool.
That was unacceptable.
Still, the fact that the Immortal Nirvana Kingdom was operating in the Eighth Realm was important.
Not because he wanted to work with them.
But because war created chaos.
And chaos created opportunities.
If the Seventh and Eighth Realms were already clashing, Cain could use the confusion to strike deeper into enemy territory—and harvest far more lives than he could alone.
"Let’s see what you know," he murmured.
He placed a hand on Jasmir’s head.
His soul force drilled directly into her mind.
Cain had no intention of preserving her soul, so he showed no restraint. He tore through mental barriers, memory seals, and instinctive protections, extracting everything—every mission report, every command structure, every deployment route, every strategic objective.
He needed the full picture of the Seventh Realm’s operations in the Eternal Soul Realm.
And he would not stop until he had it.
The process took time.
But eventually, he unraveled every secret contained within the mind of the fallen Alpha-Omega Royal Blutlinie.
When he finished, surprise flickered across his face.
"The Immortal Nirvana Kingdom isn’t just attacking the Eighth Realm," he said quietly. "They’re also defending against the Sixth Realm’s forces... who are themselves holding back pressure from the Fifth."
His eyes narrowed.
He had assumed the conflict was limited to the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Realms, since a single Sacred Treasure fragment had been distributed among them.
Clearly, his information had been incomplete.
"The war between the Realms started long before the Ancestors’ Tomb opened," Cain realized.
Which meant something far more dangerous.
By the time the various Realms entered the Tomb...
The hostility, the grudges, the blood debt—everything would already be at its peak.
And when they finally met inside that closed space—
"The slaughter," Cain whispered, "will be absolute."
