The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2417: Morningstar

Chapter 2417: Morningstar

Mirena and the remaining Blutlinie of the Aztorus Kingdom hesitated, uncertain how to react.

What the Royal Guard had just done could easily be considered a direct act of hostility against their kingdom—and a blatant violation of the fragile alliance with the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

Yet Kriz himself had effectively nullified that alliance the moment he ordered a full retreat. In doing so, he had essentially abandoned the Ocean of the Blood Sun to be destroyed, so there was no way he could claim the authority to issue a command toward the Royal Guard.

The white man, for his part, seemed utterly unconcerned. For him, those Blutlinie were insignificant, and whether they acted or not, he was confident he could still change the tide and protect the blood ocean.

He stood there smiling, his expression sharp and feral, bloodlust burning openly in his gaze as he turned toward the remaining two Royal Blutlinie of the Dark Blood Kingdom.

Satan and Hades reacted instantly.

Their eyes sharpened, and their energy surged explosively as they attacked Gilgark in perfect coordination. Their claws descended from above and below, crossing paths in a deadly pincer strike.

The moment their attacks landed, the chains binding Gilgark shattered.

But the Royal Blutlinie barely had time to savor his freedom.

The twin claw strikes tore straight through the dense muscles of his chest, ripping apart condensed layers of flesh and bone before sending him flying through the air like a bloddy cannonball.

Gilgark was monstrously powerful. His Ancestor Power allowed him to fuse the muscle mass of other Royal Blutlinie into his own body, compressing and refining it into overwhelming strength and resilience. Yet that same power made healing extraordinarily difficult.

The damage to his chest was severe.

Unfortunately for the Royal Blutlinie, he had no time even to assess his injuries.

Satan and Hades were already upon him again, the Royal Guards burning their life force in order to win the battle.

Mirena witnessed the exchange, her fists clenching as she turned her focus back to Orfin. Her mind raced. Kriz had made it clear that retreat was the logical choice—but abandoning everything she had worked toward filled her with bitterness.

Just as hesitation threatened to paralyze her, Cain’s voice echoed within her mind.

"I apologize for Morningstar’s actions," he said calmly. "He has only just been born. His ego is... lively. However, with him, we now have a chance. You saw his power."

Mirena’s eyes narrowed.

There was no denying it. Morningstar had sent Sky Terror flying with a single strike.

"We can win," Cain continued smoothly. "You can secure this victory—and claim all the credit. Become a hero of your kingdom. The one that defeated the Crown Prince and the warriors of the Dark Blood Kingdom."

Images of glory, triumph, and recognition surged through Mirena’s thoughts. Her hesitation shattered, replaced by burning resolve.

In the next instant, she surged forward like a meteor of light.

Her fist struck Orfin squarely in the face.

"BOOM!"

A shockwave rippled across the Ocean of the Blood Sun. Orfin’s chains shattered as her skull fractured, and she was sent tumbling through the air, blood spraying behind her.

The moment Mirena committed, the battlefield reignited.

The Prima Deity and Archdeity Blutlinie of the Aztorus Kingdom roared as they resumed their assault, slaughtering Kalous warriors and casting their bodies into the blood ocean.

Delight surged through Cain’s consciousness as the situation stabilized—but it was quickly replaced by a more complicated stream of thoughts as he turned his attention toward Morningstar.

"His ego and individuality are far stronger than Satan’s and Hades’... Is that because of his higher cultivation, or the Blutlinie souls I used to nurture him?"

Cain analyzed the situation briefly.

Then dismissed the question.

"The only thing that truly matters is his strength—and in that regard, he exceeds my expectations."

As Mirena and the other Royal Guards reengaged their opponents, Morningstar moved.

He shot forward like a beam of light toward Sky Terror, which had just regained control of its massive body and was unleashing a barrage of dark plasma spheres.

Morningstar’s grin widened.

He brought his two batons together, and they fused seamlessly into a single halberd. With impossible agility, he dove toward the Omen Beast, dodging some blasts and cleaving others apart, until he crashed directly into the creature’s neck.

His eyes locked onto the Crown Prince.

"ZNNNNNNNNNN—"

The sound of tearing flesh echoed as Morningstar carved a blazing path along Sky Terror’s back, blood spraying in his wake as he closed the distance, halberd raised to split the Crown Prince in two.

At the final moment—

The Crown Prince melted into Sky Terror’s body, vanishing from sight.

Morningstar’s gaze sharpened. He raised his halberd, ready to crush the Omen Beast’s skull and rip the Crown Prince out by force—

When countless spikes erupted from Sky Terror’s body.

Morningstar leapt upward instinctively as tens of thousands of spikes launched outward, filling the sky and converging on him from every direction.

He smiled.

The halberd split apart, transforming into two slender swords. His arms moved faster than sight, weaving them into a furious blur that formed a whirling domain around him.

Every spike that entered it shattered.

Cain’s excitement grew as he watched.

When forging Morningstar, he had used the templates of the Primordials and the Masked Race—two races known for possessing overwhelmingly powerful physical bodies. Cain had been unable to create a form where soul, energy, and body functioned as a single perfect whole.

Instead, he achieved something different.

A body where soul and energy were infused directly into every cell the moment it formed.

Morningstar could not release energy externally. He could not use techniques or abilities in the conventional sense.

But in exchange—

His body itself existed at the Late Alpha–Omega Overgod Rank.

As for the weapons in his hands, they were the transformed remnants of his broken cocoon, capable of shifting into multiple forms, each with distinct properties and effects.

A perfect weapon—

For a being like Morningstar.
