The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2416: The last Royal Guard

Chapter 2416: The last Royal Guard

For over half an hour, the battle raged with overwhelming ferocity. Waves of blood surged and collapsed as power beyond reason clashed again and again, shattering the sky.

Even with the Ocean of the Blood Sun pumping immense vitality through the veins of Mirena and Kriz, they were simply unable to keep pace with the terrifying might of their opponents.

It became clear that those who managed to secure a place in the Dark Blood Kingdom were monsters whose powers defied reason.

Then—

A scream of pure agony echoed across the blood ocean.

Kriz clenched his teeth as his left arm exploded, torn apart by brutal force. Shattered bone and flesh scattered through the air before sinking into the crimson sea, vanishing beneath the waves as if they had never existed.

The Royal Blutlinie staggered back, his breathing ragged. His eyes flicked toward Sky Terror. Aside from several wounds on its chest and neck, he had failed to land a single truly meaningful blow.

Now, with one arm gone, his chances of winning this battle were nonexistent.

"If I keep fighting here, I will die."

The moment that thought crossed his mind, cold determination hardened his expression. Without hesitation, Kriz turned toward the massive obsidian obelisks he had brought onto the battlefield.

Those artifacts had remained dormant throughout the battle, radiating only faint static. Many had wondered why Kriz even brought them. But now, they began to glow.

In the blink of an eye, countless chains erupted from the obelisks. They shot forward at shocking speed, wrapping around Sky Terror and the two Royal Blutlinie from the Dark Blood Kingdom.

"Do not attack!" Kriz roared.

His command stopped Mirena, Satan, and Hades just as they were about to seize the opening and strike.

As confusion spread across their faces, Kriz continued, his voice sharp and urgent. "These chains are extremely powerful—but they function through causality. If the sealed targets are attacked, the seal will shatter instantly."

Surprise—and disappointment—flashed across the faces of Mirena and the Royal Guards. Still, the explanation made sense. For a treasure capable of restraining a Late Alpha–Omega Overgod Omen Beast alongside two Middle-Stage Royal Blutlinie, its limitations had to be severe.

Even without being attacked, the chained trio thrashed violently. The chains trembled, creaked, and warped under the strain, making it clear they would not hold for long.

Mirena, Satan, and Hades turned toward Kriz, waiting for his plan—some strategy to exploit this fleeting opportunity.

But what followed was not what they expected.

"Every warrior of the Aztorus Kingdom," Kriz shouted, "retreat immediately!"

Shock rippled through the battlefield.

Those words made it clear: Kriz had activated the obelisks not to turn the tide, but to buy time to escape. He was abandoning the Ocean of the Blood Sun entirely.

"Elder Brother, we—" Mirena tried to protest.

Kriz cut her off with a cold glance. "We cannot win. And I will not give my life for this pool of red liquid."

Mirena fell silent.

The influence of the Power of Chaos ran deep within her mind—but not deep enough to make her choose the blood ocean over her own survival. After a brief pause, she nodded and prepared to retreat.

Satan and Hades stared at the two Royal Blutlinie with undisguised fury.

Those two were supposed to be their allies.

And yet they were fleeing, leaving them behind to face annihilation. The rage was so great that they even considered attacking them.

Before either of them could act on impulse—

"Hahahaha..."

A calm, echoing laugh rang out within their minds.

Cain’s voice was composed, almost amused. "I already told you—we can only trust each other. Everyone else is either a tool to achieve our goals... or an enemy to be eradicated."

At first, Kriz’s retreat seemed like a devastating blow, but Cain was not worried and the reason was simple.

"CRACK!"

A deafening shattering sound erupted from the heart of the Ocean of the Blood Sun, echoing upward until it reached the highest reaches of the sky.

The entire battlefield froze.

The next instant, a figure rose from the blood ocean.

He possessed a humanoid form with bone-white skin, sharp features, and short white hair. His eyes were black, with deep crimson irises burning at their centers, as if the might of the blood ocean ran in them. Though his gaze was intense and focused, it could not hide the thrill and excitement etched across his face.

His body was muscular, perfectly honed—not grotesque like that of the Royal Blutlinie, but refined to absolute perfection. Veins stood out along his arms and neck, radiating otherworldly strength. In each hand, he held a short red staff.

All eyes locked onto him.

Yet his gaze ignored everyone present.

It fixed solely on the strongest being on the battlefield.

Sky Terror.

With speed that left everyone speechless, the white-haired man vanished—and reappeared directly before the head of the Alpha–Omega Overgod Omen Beast.

"Stop!" Kriz shouted instinctively, commanding the newcomer to halt.

The white-haired man merely smiled.

He struck.

Both staffs came down simultaneously against Sky Terror’s head.

"BOOM!"

The chains from the obsidian obelisks shattered instantly. Sky Terror was hurled backward through the sky, blood pouring from its maw as its massive body almost fell into the blood ocean.

Kriz’s eyes widened in disbelief.

The power behind that single strike far surpassed anything he himself could unleash.

Even more shocking—

He felt no energy fluctuations at all.

That attack had been executed through pure physical power alone.

Awe surged through Kriz’s heart—only to be immediately drowned by fury.

"How dare you disobey my command—"

Before he could finish his sentence, the white-haired man appeared directly in front of him.

Those black-and-crimson eyes locked onto Kriz, freezing his blood.

"How are you," the man asked coldly, "qualified to give me orders?"

The next instant, the Royal Guard sent a brutal kick forward.

It struck Kriz squarely in the stomach.

The Royal Blutlinie was sent flying through the air like a broken doll, vomiting mouthfuls of blood as he vanished into the distance.
