The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2073: Alpha-Omega Overgod Natural Inheritance (I)

Chapter 2073: Alpha-Omega Overgod Natural Inheritance (I)

Cain noticed the golden glow blooming in Meylin’s eyes, and a wide smile spread across his face. Thanks to the Imperium Dream, their primordial essences were now fully connected, allowing them to share powers and unique abilities. That link elevated their strength to an entirely new level—and Cain knew it would only grow stronger the more the Imperium evolved.

"If I could implant Scarlet Suns in others," Cain thought, "and share their unique abilities... my power would skyrocket at terrifying speed."

The idea tempted him, but he immediately shook his head. To forge a single Scarlet Sun required fragments of his primordial essence—a process so taxing that it could cripple anyone else. Even with the Imperium Dream guiding him, the only reason he had survived the process was because his True Name was already teetering on the edge of evolving toward the Alpha-Omega Overgod’s Realm. Attempting it again would almost certainly plunge him into a coma he might never awaken from.

And that wasn’t the only danger. Even if he could forge another Scarlet Sun safely, he could not implant it into just anyone.

The vessel had to be someone with abilities and a cultivation path drastically different from his own, or else the bond would yield no true gain. The vessel also had to be someone he trusted beyond doubt—because the bond worked both ways. Through it, another could weave curses or mental strikes directly into his soul. Even if the vessel did not betray him intentionally, if their Soul Dimension shattered, the Scarlet Sun would collapse with them, dragging Cain into a grievous wound that even the Scarlet Throne might not heal.

For all those reasons, Meylin was the perfect vessel. Their natures were opposite yet complementary. Her Dream, her Depravita essence, meshed seamlessly with his Neo-Demon power. More than that—he trusted her with his soul.

Once they had adapted to their upgrades, Cain and Meylin exchanged wide smiles, their excitement impossible to contain. They could feel the strength in their bodies, the resonance in their souls. The connection between them was alive, pulsing with growing might.

But there was no time to bask in victory. Even with all their efforts to cloak the battlefield, the eruption of the Crimson World Matrix had unleashed a storm of energy that would surely draw the gaze of powers across the Second Realm. They had to leave before anyone arrived.

Cain raised his hand, summoning the Scarlet Throne. Its aura lashed out like crimson chains, binding the four massive Puppets Catherine had left behind. Though the spiritual link to their mistress had been severed, their bodies were still brimming with vitality and power. It would be wasteful to abandon such treasures.

One by one, the colossal Puppets rose into the air and vanished into the Scarlet Realm. There, their immense frames would be dismantled, their flesh and bones broken down into streams of vitality that would nourish the throne and its master.

The gates of the Scarlet Throne closed with a resounding boom, and a wave of cleansing flame swept across the battlefield, incinerating all traces of what had transpired. When the last ember faded, Cain and Meylin had already vanished into the distance as if they had never been there at all.

Far from the battlefield, the duo finally slowed their march. For a brief moment, they allowed themselves to breathe, to savor the quiet after such an intense struggle. But the respite was short-lived. Focus returned to their eyes, sharp and calculating, as they turned their thoughts toward their next prey.

Meylin’s Dream demanded evolution, and for that, another life had to be claimed. Their next target was far more dangerous than Catherine. There was a reason the Puppetmaster had been chosen first—she was powerful, yes, but still manageable.

The true prey was Corintio, a Peak ArchDeity with infamous soul skill and survival abilities. He had once escaped an ambush led by another Peak ArchDeity with three Late ArchDeities, a feat that elevated his reputation as nearly unkillable. Even with their upgrades, Cain and Meylin knew the only chance of victory lay in catching him by surprise. And Corintio was not the kind of foe to be taken unawares easily.

Their expressions grew solemn. Every fiber of their being was on edge as they began to analyze the battlefield, preparing for the hunt.

Just as they were about to plan their strike, the crystal containing Zarazel’s consciousness began to glow.

"Return to the Heart of Sin," the voice commanded. "An important matter has arisen that requires the strongest warriors of the Life Path."

Cain and Meylin exchanged startled looks. They had made it clear to Zarazel that they would act independently, outside the army’s chain of command. The man had agreed—under the Demon King’s instruction, no less. For him to summon them despite that agreement meant something enormous had happened.

Cain’s frown deepened. They had a hunt to pursue, but he knew well the truth—if not for Zarazel shielding their movements, warriors of the Freedom Path would have already hounded them across the Second Realm. His cover gave them the freedom to strike from the shadows.

That protection came with obligations.

The two nodded silently to one another, their decision made. They tore open the void and left the mainland, diving into the Void Beyond the Realm, pushing their speed to the absolute limit. Their bodies blurred into streaks of light, crossing space millions of times faster than thought.

It did not take long for them to reach the Heart of Sin, the colossal fortress of the Life Path. As they ascended to its highest level, their eyes widened. Dozens of ArchDeities were already gathered, each radiating immense pressure.

Cain’s gaze sharpened as he recognized three among them: the Lord of the Void, Tiamat, and the Enlightened One. They were not just ArchDeities. They were top-tier powerhouses of the Second Realm. Normally, they kept to themselves, guarding their Divine Kingdoms and surrounding territories. They rarely, if ever, involved themselves in direct military offensives.

For all three to stand here together... Cain felt the weight of it in his bones. This was no minor gathering. Something beyond comprehension was about to unfold.

The trio noticed Cain and Meylin’s arrival.

Tiamat offered only a curt nod, her serpentine eyes unreadable. The Enlightened One and the Lord of the Void both smiled, raising their hands in respectful greeting. Cain and Meylin returned the courtesy, though their focus had already shifted forward.

There, at the center of it all, was the one they had been waiting to see.

The Alpha-Omega Overgod True Depravita, his aura ready to explode at any second.
