Chapter 612: Chapter 334: That’s Right, I Killed Them All
Jiang Man looked at the remaining six people, feeling somewhat helpless. These individuals were incredibly strong. If a real fight broke out, it would be extremely troublesome.
Seven days ago, he had used the Evil God’s Technique to scout the Sword Tomb. At first, he found nothing, but later he discovered a strange location that he couldn’t find a way into. As he continued his investigation, he unexpectedly noticed traces of an Array within the Sword Tomb. He then realized that triggering that strange spot caused the Array to react. Ultimately, he left behind an Array to trigger the spot and traced the hidden Array’s source. The trail finally led him here.
Empowered by the Evil God’s Technique, he had quickly and silently closed in, eliminating the guard, Old He. The man had been quite skilled, and Jiang Man had nearly caused a commotion taking him down. He had originally planned to thoroughly study the Array here, turn it against these people to trap them, and then report the situation. They were simply too strong; he wasn’t confident he could take them all on. But now, he had been discovered and was forced to act.
At this moment, he was utilizing the Evil God Power, but he hadn’t assumed the identity of Zui Fusheng. He feared that if he failed to wipe them all out, it would tarnish Zui Fusheng’s prestigious reputation. Maintaining the persona of such an important figure was truly no easy feat.
However, the Evil God’s Technique was undeniably useful. It allowed him to conceal himself and use certain traits of the Evil God to perceive things ordinary people couldn’t. Yet, Jiang Man was also somewhat curious about these seven individuals. They didn’t seem to be followers of the Evil God.
"Who are you? What is your purpose for infiltrating us?" The leading white-haired man’s pupils shrank when he saw the intruder kill one of their own with a mere flick of a finger.
The enemy’s sheer power left him shaken. He had assumed that with his level of Cultivation, roaming the land and even encountering prodigies of the Wuyun Sect on a mission would be a walk in the park. It had always been true in the past, so how had he run into such a formidable expert now? Was this person from the Wuyun Sect? Or from another faction?
"What kind of ancient artifact did you come here for?" Jiang Man asked. His tone was as flat as if he were asking about the weather. He had overheard them mentioning an ancient artifact earlier.
The white-haired man’s expression slightly shifted, a glint of cold intent flashing in his eyes. "How much did you hear?"
Had the intruder not brought up the ancient artifact, he would have preferred to just go their separate ways. But since it was mentioned, that was no longer an option. If word got out, their mission would end in absolute failure with far-reaching consequences—especially if it drew the attention of the Wuyun Sect. Then, there would likely be no second chances.
In an instant, the remaining five people slowly fanned out, surrounding Jiang Man from different directions. The Array beneath their feet began to expand outwards. Pale gold patterns spread across the ground, intertwining and wrapping around like living creatures.
"Why must you make things difficult for us, sir?" Before Jiang Man could answer, the white-haired man stepped forward.
Instantly, terrifying power erupted. Vast Qi and Blood surged and burned, the scorching heatwaves distorting the air around him. In the blink of an eye, he arrived right in front of Jiang Man and threw a punch. His speed was so immense that the air didn’t even have time to whistle.
Jiang Man watched as the fist engulfed his entire field of vision, his expression remaining unfazed. The punch, carrying formidable force, roared toward him, its wind causing his robes to flutter wildly. However, right before it could connect with Jiang Man’s face, it seemed to be blocked by an invisible barrier, unable to advance even a fraction of an inch further.
Divine Technique: Inch and Mile.
For a moment, the white-haired man felt as if his attack had been stretched out into infinity. Though it was right in front of him, it felt as if it were separated by thousands of mountains and rivers. No matter how much strength he exerted, his fist couldn’t advance another inch. Veins bulged on his forehead, and the muscles in his arms tensed to their absolute limits. His ocean-like Qi and Blood Power burned frantically, but to no avail. He could only watch helplessly as that calm face stayed right in front of him, yet entirely out of reach.
At that moment, Jiang Man slowly raised his hand and lightly tapped the air in the direction of the man’s fist. His movement was casual and effortless. However, in the very next instant, a powerful wave of Primordial Spirit Power howled forth, striking like three mountain peaks crashing down simultaneously.
Divine Technique: Three Mountains Subduing the Peaks.
BANG!
The immense Primordial Spirit Power slammed brutally into the white-haired man like an overturning mountain range. His expression changed drastically as he thought, "So strong!"
Immediately after, the overwhelming impact instantly shattered the Qi and Blood Power within his body. It was as if a giant, invisible hand had swatted him, subjecting his entire frame to a terrifying crushing force. His bones emitted a dense series of cracks, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, drawing a long red line through the air. With a heavy thud, he was sent flying backward at breakneck speed, smashing into the ground dozens of feet away and creating a deep crater. Rubble and dirt scattered everywhere as a cloud of dust plumed into the air.
Jiang Man didn’t press his advantage, because the attacks from the other four had already arrived.
BOOM!
Four powerful Magic Skills bombarded him from different directions. Sword Intent, Magic Skills, and other forces intertwined, instantly causing the earth beneath his feet to shudder and fracture. Fissures spider-webbed out in all directions. The soil under Jiang Man evaporated in the blink of an eye, revealing the pitch-black bedrock beneath.
However, as all these forces surged toward him, none of them could get close. Then, a suppressive force as heavy as a mountain peak erupted from his entire being. The incoming attacks were entirely deflected, detonating in midair and scattering into a sky full of shimmering spiritual fragments.
"An opening! Now’s the time!"
The very moment the attacks were repelled, a bald man abruptly appeared at Jiang Man’s side. His speed was incredible, his figure almost blurring into an afterimage. His hand had already grabbed Jiang Man’s shoulder, his five fingers locking down like an iron vice.
"Let’s see how you dodge this." ℯℯ𝑙.
Power erupted from the bald man’s hand as he attempted to shatter his opponent’s shoulder blade directly.
