Chapter 555: Chapter 305: Big Shot, Zui Fusheng

Hearing the contents of the message, the middle-aged man was visibly thrilled. Beside him, however, the old woman’s pupils shrank in absolute shock.

Knowing your enemy was the key to survival. As an enemy of the Immortal Sect—and especially as someone who frequently clashed with the Zhenyue Bureau—she understood their rules better than anyone. Many within the Zhenyue Bureau could transmit location coordinates, but those capable of broadcasting a message on such a massive scale were exceedingly rare. And among that small minority, the number of people who warranted the term "descended" could be counted on one hand.

Only individuals of paramount status and immense power were qualified to have the entire Zhenyue Bureau system announce that they had "descended."

When encountering such a figure, there was no need to think. There was only one thing left to do. Run! Flee as fast as humanly possible!

Without another moment of hesitation, she erupted with every ounce of power in her body, fleeing for her life. The same scene played out elsewhere. Even those kept in the dark received urgent orders to evacuate. The plan had gone awry; an unknown powerhouse had suddenly intervened. They didn’t know who Zui Fusheng was, but they understood the terrifying weight of such a high-level broadcast.

The middle-aged man had originally intended to go meet this senior expert, but he had no choice but to prioritize chasing down the old woman. However, the moment he turned his head, he realized the senior had abruptly vanished, seemingly slipping into the Void. With that, he no longer hesitated and immediately moved to prevent his formidable enemy from escaping.

Because of Zui Fusheng’s appearance, the tables had completely turned. The hunters were now the hunted.

Meanwhile, Jiang Man successfully returned to Mu Kong’s side. He felt a bit nervous, yet also a little perplexed. After breaking through the blockade, he had indeed sensed numerous gazes locking onto him. But as soon as the Zhenyue Bureau’s broadcast went out, those gazes shifted. Scrutiny morphed into sheer awe and terror. Soon after, he noticed the hostile forces scrambling to flee.

Was the Zhenyue Bureau’s announcement really that shocking? He didn’t think it was a big deal. They had simply announced his name and stated his arrival.

Beside him, Mu Kong kept his head bowed, his entire body trembling uncontrollably.

In truth, the Evil God had initially planned to teach Jiang Man a minor lesson. Sure, he would pull him back, but only when *he* felt like it. He had wanted to delay the three-breath window to four breaths, if only to make the other party realize his true value.

However, upon hearing the Zhenyue Bureau’s broadcast, he had tensed up in a panic and genuinely missed a breath. But an even more shocking event followed. The coordinates activated on their own. The other party had locked onto the location without him exerting any control whatsoever, successfully making the return trip.

In an instant, stormy waves crashed through his mind, and an overwhelming sense of dread washed over him.

"Why are you acting like this too?" Jiang Man asked.

"Please forgive my transgressions, Senior!" Mu Kong immediately threw himself flat on the ground.

Jiang Man was puzzled. "Because you failed to trigger the coordinates?"

He hadn’t actually minded that. After all, to err was human, and it was normal for an Evil God to make mistakes too. Situations in combat were often complex, and a momentary delay was to be expected. Besides, he could directly control the coordinates himself anyway.

"It was this junior’s negligence," Mu Kong replied respectfully.

"Just because of that? It can’t be just because of that, can it?" Jiang Man asked. He remembered how everyone else had fled. He had originally thought his bluff would merely make them somewhat wary, buying him three breaths of time without them daring to attack. The actual result had far exceeded his expectations.

"You don’t know, Senior?" Mu Kong looked at Jiang Man with a trace of suspicion.

"Enlighten me," Jiang Man said.

Mu Kong then explained the nuances of the Zhenyue Bureau’s broadcast. When ordinary personnel were announced, the phrasing usually stated they were ’on their way,’ ’had arrived,’ or were ’approaching within a certain distance.’ Only legendary figures warranted the term ’descended.’

Jiang Man fell silent. He hadn’t known any of this; he had merely activated the function. The broadcast’s content had been automatically generated by the Zhenyue Bureau. The good news was that the crisis in the Black Spirit Abyss had been alleviated. The bad news was that the prestige of the word "descended" had just taken a massive hit.

Jiang Man decided not to dwell on it. The Sect would likely receive the news soon, so they wouldn’t be trapped here for long.

He looked at the Evil God before him. He had to admit, the guy was incredibly useful. If he could bind him like the Ling Hua Immortal Spirit, he would be a massive asset for Zui Fusheng. He could go practically anywhere. As long as he sent Mu Kong ahead to set up coordinates, he could instantly teleport over.

The problem was that he currently had no way to control the Evil God, nor could he take him away at this moment. As for a solution... there was none. He wasn’t Ting Fengyin; how could he possibly come up with a brilliant plan on the fly? Old Huang wasn’t by his side either. Therefore, his only option was to leave. Staying here any longer was too dangerous.

Jiang Man took out a piece of paper and stamped his name on it using his Jade Token. He then handed it to Mu Kong. "Take this. If you’re caught by people from the Sect, tell them I plan to interrogate you later and to hold you in custody until I do."

With that, Jiang Man turned to leave.

But before he had gone far, Mu Kong suddenly asked, "Will you kill me?"

Jiang Man merely raised a hand and waved, signaling a casual goodbye. As to whether he would kill him or not, he’d let the Evil God guess.

Afterwards, Jiang Man retracted the Evil God’s Technique, reverting to his normal self. However, he felt a lingering sense of danger. The Evil God’s Technique contained a highly potent poison, and the slightest misstep could put his own life at risk. If he ever got into a real fight, he would probably have to expel the poison first. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to unleash his full strength. Furthermore, fighting at full power consumed a massive amount of Evil God Power, meaning he wouldn’t be able to sustain it for long.

Returning to the corner where they had been taking shelter from the attacks, Jiang Man deactivated the Array and woke everyone up. He hadn’t wanted them waking up midway and searching for him, which would have easily exposed his secret.

Still, he was rather curious as to why no one had come looking for trouble after all this time. Were the people from the Bai family unable to make it over? He had used the Magic Skill Fang Yong gave him ages ago. His location had long since been exposed, yet stubbornly, no one showed up.

"We’re still alive?" Tao He was the first to regain consciousness.

"You’re stronger than that demon from the Primordial Spirit Demon Race," Jiang Man praised.

Tao He felt a surge of joy at the compliment, but quickly asked, "What’s the situation now?"
