Chapter 259: I have lost

?The next day arrived in high spirits for the whole of Nahaar. The semi finals was taking place today, and it would be determined which of the remaining three races would reach the finals.

?That was especially true for the participants who had lost from the beginning of the convergence till now, who were allowed to come atop the floating platform once more to witness the matches.

?Of course, the platform had been maximized to be able to shelter all the the new participants.

?Kaal next to Isolde amongst the demons. Such was the same for Mayura and Ivis who sat at one side with the rest of the elves.

?Namor, Nymeria, Nyssa, and Vael also sat together with the rest of the merfolk, and Alistair sat next to Elsa along with the humans.

?Damon was the only outcast who didn’t seem to belong among any of the groups. He sat a reasonable distance away from any of them.

?The first match of the day was between Kaal and Namor. The commentator called for them and they were transported to the ground.

?Kaal summoned his blood red spear and stared at Namor with a levelled gaze. He had no intention of letting this fight last. H had let his guard down repeatedly, during his fight with Nymeria, and then during his match with Rose. He intended to go all out this time.

?Namor seemed to think of the same as his mace appeared in his hands. All traces of his usual smile and expression vanished from his face. This was a high caliber opponent, any mistake could cost him defeat.

?Kaal and Namor disappeared from their spots with explosive motion, the very air shattering like fragile glass before them.

?One was shrouded in an ominous red light and propelled by explosive blood, while the other was shrouded in a translucent light and propelled by powerful shockwaves.

?The world was bathed in a red light for a brief moment as the two combatants clashed, spear against mace, before Kaal was sent shooting backwards.

?The river of blood that had at some time appeared behind Kaal cushioned his momentum and shot him out towards Namor once more like a cannon ball.

?Kaal appeared before Namor almost instantly, his spear piercing towards his neck. Namor reacted instantly, a concentrated shockwave bursting out from his front to blow Kaal away.

?However, Kaal vanished a moment before his spear could make contact with the shockwave.

?’A feint.’ Namor realized at the last moment and blurred sideways, but Kaal’s spear still pierced through his shoulder from behind and came out the front all while pushing Namor skidding forwards.

?Another shockwave blew out from Namor, pushing out kaal’s spear out of his shoulder, and pushing him further away from Kaal.

?A massive blood rider appeared behind Kaal and down at Namor with all its titanic might.

?An AOE shockwave shot out from Namor to tank the attack. The immense spear and the spherical shockwave collided for a brief moment in an earth shattering explosion, before the shockwave was overpowered.

?The spear continued it’s descent and smashed into the ground with a cataclysmic force. The earth was rendered asunder as chunks of rocks and debris exploded upwards.

?’It seems uncle Kaal isn’t playing around this time.’ Isolde thought with her eyes fixed on the battlefield.

?An earth shattering shockwave burst the debris apart as a wild aura that shot into the atmosphere radiated from Namor.

?Namor looked completely different than he did when the match began half a minute ago.

?One of his hands hung limply at his side of the hole on his shoulder, his body was covered in blood and soot, and most parts of his clothes had been torn to shreds.

?For the first time since the convergence of races began, Namor looked angry. And with the blood falling over his face from his head, he looked even more menacing.

?Kaal however wasn’t even bothered by the aura radiating off the merfolk prince. He had already been pissed off at being caught off guard twice in a row, he wouldn’t allow a third time.

?And it just so happened that his current opponent was a relative of one of the individuals who had given him a hard time. Nyneria had almost drowned him, it would be a mistake to give Namor any leeway.

?A massive shockwave manifested from Namor’s feet, propelling him forwards at immense speeds.

?Kaal eyes moved locking onto the incoming merfolk prince with his rapid neural activity.

?Whips made of blood formed around Kaal and launched towards Namor at immense speeds.

?Namor swept his mace at the blood whips scattering them with a precise shockwave and closing in on Kaal.

?The two began a high paced close combat battle, but Namor was at a disadvantage. For one, he was below Kaal in terms of physical stats, and second, his mace was too big to be used effectively in close combat, especially with someone who excelled in combat like Kaal.

?Kaal effortlessly suppressed him while making sure to steer clear of Namor close combat shockwave.

?Namor swung his mace at Kaal’s head, but was once again too slow. The demon Prince sucked under it with effortless grace before kicking towards Namor’s jaw.

?The kick connected with a bone sickening crush, sending Namor flying into the skies. Almost immediately blood bullets weaved into existence around Kaal and shot towards Namor.

?Namor sensed the danger at the last minute, and released an overwhelming shockwave from his body blowing all the bullets away, before rapidly falling towards the ground.

?As he fell, Namor extended his hand towards Kaal, using vibration as a medium, a shockwave exploded right in the same space as the demon Prince.

?But Kaal had already blurred away from his spot. The battle continued like that, with Namor trying to manifest a shockwave right in the same space Kaal occupied, and Kaal constantly reappearing and disappearing across the battlefield, evading every targeted shockwave with ease.

?Then suddenly, the blood Namor has on his body suddenly rose up, solidified into a dart and shot towards Namor’s eye.

?The merfolk prince barely tilted his head, avoiding the lost of an eye but did end up losing an ear. Hisvear came clean off as a gurgle of blood rushed out from where it had once been.

?

?A raspy scream escaped Namor’s lips as he clamped onto the bleeding stump with his hand.

?To his shock and horror however, even the blood and coming out of his ear started to rise up. Namor utilized a quick burst shockwave to scatter the gathering blood, before turning his attention to kaal.

?However, Kaal was nowhere to be seen in his sight. ’’Behind me.’ He came to a chilling realization the moment he sensed the surrounding through vibrations. But it was already too late, the pointy tip of Kaal’s blood red spear was already inching towards his heart from behind.

?A shockwave escaped from Namor’s left pushing him to the right in an instant, but a dull thud still sounded as something hit the ground a moment later.

?Silence.

?

?That was the reaction of every spectator. Nothing surprised them more than the sheer ease with which Kaal completely suppressed Namor. And now he had even cut his left arm.

?To say they were shocked speechless was understating. Namor was the one who had battled Mayura earlier yesterday with a grin on his face the entire time, as if she could barely scratch him.

?And now there was Kaal who was beating the merfolk prince as if he were a defenseless child. What everyone didn’t think about however, was that each time Kaal had gone against a notable opponent, their abilities had been a hard counter against his, and that he wasn’t particularly active as he was in this match.

?’As expected.’ Damon thought. Kaal was unstoppable once he decided to end the fight as fast as he could.

?If he was this active against Rose or Nymeria they wouldn’t have lasted half the time they did. But then again, Rose could heal herself from injuries no matter how severe.

?’I never had any chance of winning the convergence.’ Mayura thought bitterly. Then she thought of the other monster who had defeated and humiliated her brother and sank into even moe self doubt.

?"That goes without saying." Aric muttered but couldn’t help taking a glance at the imposter, before bringing his eyes back to the battle.

?Meanwhile, Namor froze as his arm dropped to the ground. Blood sprutted out like a red fountain from his stump while he looked on dazed.

?’A single blow...’ Namor’s mind kept repeating. ’I haven’t landed a single blow since this match began.’

?’No... this won’t do.’ he thought as his aura began to leak off him lika a raging storm.

?Kaal narrowed his eyes, but was forced to leap away as shockwave began erupting everywhere with reckless abandon.

?"HAHAHAHAHA!" The shockwaves kept exploding out of nowhere, and in extreme randomness under Namor’s unhinged laughter.

?However, Namor’s laugh was cut short as his body suddenly froze. No, it felt like his control over his own body was seized... and that too, through the very blood inside his body.

?Before Namor could even think of anything else, he saw a blood red spear exiting through his chest from behind.

?

?Blood flowed down in a gurgle as Namor smiled wryly in realization.

?’I have lost.’ His eyes closed into unconscious slumber.
