Chapter 258: ... isn’t it?"

"NAMOR STORMBORNE WINS!!!"

"Well I guess the Elven race is out of the race." Regulus smirked.

Both the two alpha ranked powerhouses of the elven race had a scornful expression on their faces.

Their race was officially out. What did this serve to prove? That they were the weakest race in Nahaar? They felt indignation at that, but what could they do, throw a tantrum? That would only make them sore losers.

The elven youths lost fair and square after all, so they could only get their teeth and console over the fact that between the remaining three races, two were bound to lose anyway,t was only a matter of time.

"I for one think the eleven youths did quite well, especially young Mayura who reached the quarter finals." Lucas spoke, like a true academic who appreciated hardworking students.

"Are you trying to mock us?" The elven empress who was on the verge of exploding turned to Lucas with a frown.

"It’s not mocking. Lucas is merely giving points where it is due." Selene said. "As much as I do not want to admit it, your daughter did quite well, it’s just that she met someone stronger."

"Hehehe! That’s a nice way of putting it." Sevas chuckled. "Even when admitting it, you didn’t forget to praise your own son."

"Don’t poke your nose where it isn’t needed." Selene glared. "I still haven’t forgiven your past transgressions."

"I do not care if you forgive them or not." Sevas shrugged under both Selene and Celeste’s glares.

"Yes, the girl indeed did do quite well." Rhudeus commented.

"I admit..." Amon spoke. "She was just at her limits. The only person among the quarter finalist she could reasonably defeat is tht boy." He said, referring to Calum.

"Wow didn’t think I’d hear you praise someone in my life." Sevas immediately quipped.

"I do praise... but only those that deserve it. My daughter for one did quite well than I expected, if she had anymore aether I suppose she would win against that demon child."

No one refuted him because he they knew he was right. Rose could heal from any injuries no matter how dire from what they had seen earlier.

"My guess is you’re not going to praise her to her face." Alexa shook her head with a smile.

Amon didn’t reply, but his silence was more than enough.

----------

Back on the spectator cinema, the runner up youths were watching the tournament from, Ivis clenched his fists until they bled.

Mayura had lost. The elven race had pinned their hopes on both the shoulders of their prince and princess, but the two had let them down.

At least Mayura’s case was better, she managed to reach the quarter final before being eliminated, whilst he, the illustrious prince had only lasted till the round of thirty two.

How utterly embarrassing it was. ’This is unbefitting of a prince.’ He thought, his body shaking, making the youths around him scurry away from the overwhelming aura he was unintentionally leaking out.

Another thing that vexed him was that most elves would probably even blame Mayura more than they blamed him, with the mentality of ’how could she lose after making it this far?’, on the account that she was more closer to victory than he ever was.

After a few more minutes of reflection, he walked away from the cinema and towards the infirmary. Just like his sister reassured him after his loss, he needed to do the same to her.

----------

Meanwhile, after Namor won, he was transported back onto the flavoring platform while Mayura’s unconscious body was transported out of the pocket realm.

"Ooh, that was a tough one, but I already knew the elf would lose against that guy." Damon leaned in to whisper to Calum much to the young man’s chagrin.

"I didn’t ask for your input." Calum hissed.

"Well, too bad, you’re the only one on this platform I can reliably speak to." Damon shrugged.

Kaal looked like a brooding stone, Namor who had just returned had this perpetual battle thirsty smile plastered on his face, and then there was Anastasia.

Damon didn’t know what was wrong with her. Ever since he returned from his match with Alistair, he had been getting these incredibly creepy vibes from her. If he didn’t know any better, he’d say she had gotten a few loose screws.

So that only left Calum who he could repeatedly annoy.

"FOR OUR NEXT MATCH, WE HAVE THE SEER OF PATHS, ANASTASIA NECRON!!! AND AGAINST HER IS THE DRAGON MONARCH, CALUM FORGE!!!!"

"Go beat her up, I’m rooting for you." Damon whispered in Calum’s ear.

"Tsk!" Calum clicked his tongue before standing up.

"I forfeit!" He called out.

"BOOOOOOOO, WHAT A LET DOWN!" The commentator’s voice boomed as he gave a thumbs down.

"Dude what is wrong with you? Don’t tell me you’re scared now?" Damon asked tugging on Calum’s sleeves.

"Let go of me!" Calum snapped. "What do you know? You think I can beat her? I okay know my own limits, and I know for sure that I can’t defeat her currently. So please, Mr not so scared, face her yourself." Calum finished ranting just in time for him to be transported outside the pocket realm.

"Well, that was a lot, I guess it’s you vs me tomorrow." Damon muttered, before turning to Anastasia who was looking at him with a creepy smile that sort of sent chills down his spine.

"Uh.... is there something on my face?" Damon asked.

"You do know that I could hear every single thing you two were talking about right?" Anastasia asked in return, but before Damon could respond, a booming voice echoed throughout the pocket realm and beyond.

"THESE FOUR ARE OUR SEMI FINALISTS, TWO HUMANS, A MERFOLK, AND A DEMON!" He paused letting every spectator take in his words as the images of the four were casted on the screens.

"THEY HAVE SHOWN THAT THEY ARE THE PINNACLE OF THE CURRENT GENERATION, THE BEST NAHAAR HAS TO OFFER!

FOR THAT, WE WILL ALLOW ALL RUNNER UPS TO BE PRESENT ON THE FLOATING PLATFORM FOR BOTH THE SEMI FINALS, AND THE FINALS, JUST TO WITNESS WHO AMONG THESE FOUR WOULD EMERGE AS THE CHAMPION!!!"

A moment later, the four were transported back from the pocket realm back to Nahaar. None of the four had any intentions of conversing with each other so each of them went their way.

Though, Damon felt Anastasia’s gaze lingering on him for a tad bit too long, just before he disappeared into the mirror dimension.

He traveled through the mirror dimension, changed his appearance before reappearing back in the information hub.

"Damn, this is tiring." Damon muttered with a sigh. Wearing a disguise and having to hide was starting to wear him out.

’The tournament is ending in two days anyway.’ he mused. After that, the disguise would have to go.

He didn’t know going the dark horse way was this tiring. Damon had realized something, he didn’t like hiding his prowess or his strength, especially now that he was a cut above the rest.

-----------

After Damon disappeared, Anastasia proceeded to leave the building along with the other two. She walked straight towards the residential district reserved for the human entourage.

Along the way she met up with the others who had been eliminated.

"Sia!" Delilah waved the moment she sighted her. Walking over, she held her hand. "I thought the last match today was yours but that coward forfeited."

"Hey, like I said, I know my limits." Calum argued. He wasn’t about to get into a fight with Anastasia. It wasn’t a secret that she was absolutely ruthless, not only that he had witnessed her fight with Nyssa, and knew that even with his new ability, Anastasia could play him like a fiddle.

So in his opinion, it was best not to get entangled in that fight. He decided leave her to the insufferable bastard who had been annoying him to no less.

"Why do you two look as if you spent the whole day watching ghosts." Anastasia asked noticing the vacant looks in Dion and Aric’s eyes.

"...Huh?!..." The two snapped out of their thoughts almost instantly. "Uhm, it’s nothing." Dion quickly shook his head, but no matter what, his ears couldn’t seem to erase the words he heard during a match earlier today, and such was the case for Aric.

"They’ve been acting weird ever since the match between Alistair and that imposter." Delilah rolled her eyes.

"Speaking of Alistair, I hope he’s doing okay." Delilah said. "Maybe we should go check on him, Elsa is most likely already there." She said dragging Anastasia off with her, making the others follow.

Gradually, Dion and Aric fell at the back.

"It’s him, isn’t it?" Dion slowly muttered.
