Chapter 246: Space vs Time 2

  • Next Chapter

‎’This Nyssa girl..’ Damon thought. "If she were maybe a rank above me, she’d be extremely troublesome.’ He mused as he saw her blade splitting space apart for the nth time after failing to catch Anastasia.

‎If Nyssa was a rank above Damon, she would possess the physicality to be able to keep up with his stats, and while he was not certain that her spatial blade would be able to get to him in the mirror dimension, he wouldn’t want to test it.

‎But still, it was just a conjucture, Nyssa could split space, yes. However, the space in the mirror dimension was probably different since it mirrored the world. So Damon was still uncertain whether Nyssa could get to him or not.

‎’Sia though...’ Damon paused, staring at the spectacle on the battlefield. Even with her teleportation and her spatial blade, Nyssa hadn’t scratched Anastasia one bit. She hadn’t even gotten close to touching the redhead, not to talk of scratching her.

‎"What is her Zeta ability, I wonder?" The unruly prince mused. Out of all the high profile individuals in this convergence, the only one whose Zeta ability Damon didn’t know, barring a few unimportant individuals, was Anastasia’s.

‎Even when he gave out information on everyone’s abilities, he could only give out Anastasia’s initial ability.

‎However, though he didn’t know what it was, Damon had an inkling that it was somewhat bound to time just like her first ability. And judging from the way she moved, the micro movements of her muscles, and the way she seemed to know every time the Nyssa would reappear and from where, Damon had his suspicions, he just needed to confirm it.

‎So, standing up from his seat, he took his eyes away from the projection, Anastasia’s win was already guaranteed. Damon gaze turned towards two certain princesses, and he began walking in their direction.

‎The two noticed his intent almost immediately and two harsh glares got fixed in his direction.

‎"Do your highnesses mind if I sit here?" Damon asked as he reached them and sat next to Delilah without even waiting for their answer.

‎"What brings you here, and no, you’re not welcome here, so kindly stand up." Delilah replied turning away from him.

‎"Such harsh words, I fear my heart won’t be able to take it." Damon chuckled.

‎"Leave." Rose’s cold voice sounded. "Now." She said calmly, but in a chilling tone.

‎"Relax now princess, I was just leaving, but could you satisfy my curiosity a little?" Damon asked.

‎"What is it?" Rose asked.

‎"The redhead," Damon pointed at the projection. "What are her abilities, I wonder? Suppose you could tell me, I’ll be on my way."

‎"And why do you think we would?!" Delilah turned back to him.

‎"Because," Damon shrugged. "Hiding it won’t work, I’ll figure it out sooner or later when I fight her either way."

‎"Don’t make me laugh." Delilah scoffed. "Take a good look at who your next opponent is, before exuding such confidence."

‎"Who? Golden boy?" Damon gestured at Alistair who was sitting not too far away and staring at them. "You said not to make you laugh, and now you’re the one making me laugh." Damon chuckled.

‎"You actually think golden boy here could beat me?" he asked just as Alistair stood up and walked over to them.

‎"Is he disturbing you?" Alistair ignored Damon entirely and asked the princesses.

‎"Disturbing them? Gods no. I’m a rather good company if I do say so myself." Damon replied.

‎"You’re the imposter right?" Alistair then turned to Damon with a smile. "I couldn’t help but overhear that you think I couldn’t beat you."

‎"I suppose you heard right." Damon smiled in return.

‎"What makes you think so, I wonder?" Alistair asked.

‎"It’s only right to think so, after all..." Damon paused. "I am the strongest."

‎"Strongest?" Alistair asked genuinely puzzled for a moment, before he chuckled. "Then I hope we have a nice match."

‎"Oh that we will, golden boy, that we will." Damon replied before walking back to his seat.

‎After Damon left, Alistair then sat down in the seat the unruly prince formerly occupied.

‎"Do not worry, he won’t disturb you any further." Alistair flashed a bright smile.

‎"Are you sure you can beat him? His abilities seem extremely bizarre, and he’s a rank above you." Delilah asked just to be sure.

‎It wasn’t that she didn’t have faith in Alistair. It was just that she knew full well that Anastasia was stronger than him, and even Anastasia herself said she would have to be careful around that creep.

‎"I am fully confident that not even Sia could defeat me now." Alistair said.

‎"Well, we shall see about that after you defeat him and be the one to face her." Delilah replied.

‎Meanwhile, the match between Anastasia and Nyssa was still ongoing. Even Anastasia didn’t dare to cross blades with Nyssa, she knew none of the weapons she possessed could possibly withstand Nyssa’s spatial blade.‎

Likewise, she still couldn’t allow Nyssa’s spatial blade to make contact with her. Not that it could ever touch her in the first place.

‎Even before the fight began, Anastasia had already seen multiple futures than she could count on how this fight would go.

‎Any move Nyssa had made, is making, and would make, had all been seen by Anastasia before the fight even began. So, for Anastasia, it was like she had entered a state of ultra instinct, where her body moved on its own to evade all foreseen danger.

‎But that didn’t mean Nyssa relented with with the seemingly Omni perception Anastasia possessed. If anything, she only increased her teleportation tempo, each afterimage becoming more lifelike.

‎Nyssa appeared above Anastasia with an overhead slash but under the effects of Anastasia’s ability, even the blade cutting through the space itself seemed as if it was dragging through the viscous current of time.

‎Almost nonchalantly, Anastasia took a step aside, and the blade fell towards the ground and inch away from Anastasia’s body.

‎To Nyssa, the redhead’s figure might as well be a blur, but Nyssa still saw the movements, and twisted her blade at the last second, vanishing from her spot and reappearing behind Anastasia, her sword making a beeline for the redhead’s back.

‎But for someone who could see everything that would happen, Anastasia blurred to the side faster than thought, then before Nyssa could react, blurred behind her and kicked the back of her knee.

‎However, before the redhead could attack again, Nyssa pulled the same disappearing trick and appeared at the side of Anastasia.

‎Anastasia tilted her head to the side, letting the spatial blade pass by her face, cutting a few strands of her scarlet hair, before she weaved forward, caught Nyssa’s wrist, and disarmed the spatial blade from her hand.

‎While the blade was still suspended mid air, Anastasia delivered a crushing punch to the guts that folded Nyssa in two. Nyssa’s eyes bulged outwards, but a roundhouse kick to the head tilted her entire world view.

‎Hr head snapped to the side before she was launched a few dozen meters away. Anastasia flickered away from her spot, leaving a human shaped vacuum. The next moment, her figure reappeared before the injured and bleeding Nyssa who just flipped herself back on her feet.

‎Anastasia grabbed her neck, and mercilessly crashed Nyssa against the ground. Athinderous shockwave blasted outward, shrouding everything in their immediate surroundings.

‎But an instant later, Nyssa appeared completely away from the crash zone. At the last moment, she had managed to hit Anastasia’s arm off her neck, and teleported away.

‎Hence, it was Anastasia’s hand that had hit the ground, not Nyssa’s back.

‎’Just what the hell is her ability?’ Nyssa wondered. She knew Anastasia’s initial ability was slowing down or increasing the flow of time in a certain radius, but she didn’t know her Zeta ability.

‎Which meant two things, either Anastasia was already using her ability and Nyssa was none the wiser because it affected her in subtle ways, or Anastasia hadn’t even begun to use her ability, which was arguably worse.

‎Clap! Clap! Clap!

‎From within the cloud of debris, clapping sounds began to ring out.

‎"I must say, Nyssa, you’re no longer the timid girl you sluse to be." Anastasia said, as her figure slowly emerged from the veil of debris.

‎"If that is all you have to show me, then I’m afraid this match would be coming to an end this instant." she smiled.

‎"I do know you were stronger than I was eventually going to lose." Nyssa muttered.

‎"Oh?" the redhead tilted her head.

‎"But that doesn’t mean I’m going to give up without giving it my all."

‎Up on the floating platform, Damon felt to burst out laughing out of sheer amusement. "What is she, some shonen protagonist?" he muttered under his breath.

‎"It does not matter whether you want to give up or not." Anastasia said, as a longsword appeared in her hand. "I’m going to end this match now."

‎"Fine then," Nyssa muttered as another dagger appeared in her hand which she proceeded to turn into a spatial blade. "Lets end it."

‎Before Nyssa’s words could even echo through the air, Anastasia’s figure has already disappeared from her spot. Sensing danger, Nyssa immediately teleported a few dozens meters away, but to her shock, she teleported right in the way of a longsword.

‎The sound of steel cutting through flesh and bone echoed as Anastasia’s longsword pierced into Nyssa’s back and emerged from her chest.

‎Keuk!

‎A gurgle of blood sprouted from Nyssa’s mouth. "It was a good fight, Nyssa?" Anastasia muttered, withdrawing her sword form Nyssa’s body.

‎The merlady fell to the ground soon after, unable to continue the fight.

‎"ANASTASIA NECRON WINS!!!!"
