The dragon's harem
Chapter 2271: Those Who Didn’t Do Well
Not all of Eris’s angels were great fighters, but even the worst of them were still far better than many other angels. So she didn’t want to be so harsh on them, as they didn’t deserve such harsh treatment.
Starting with the best of the worst, Eris looked at the scared angel’s eyes for a second, and then sighed. "Care to explain to me why you thought it was a good idea to start talking to an abomination? I know it was a brief exchange of insults, but that allowed another abomination to attack you."
"I’m really sorry; I’m not that good at dealing with insults. I allowed an abomination to taunt me, and I should’ve done better." As the angel looked down, Eris smiled. "I’ll teach you something great. If an abomination insult you, or someone you care about, don’t insults them back. Why waste your breath when you can just stab them? You’re in a war, so who cares what they said? They’ll be dead soon anyway."
After patting the angel on the back, Eris shifted her attention to the two behind her and sighed. "You two, I’m actually considering a punishment. I love tormenting abominations as everyone else does, but... I don’t waste time with it."
The two looked down and paled. "I’m really sorry, it won’t happen again." One of them gasped and the other just started shaking.
"You two, instead of killing the abominations, you thought it was fun to toy with them, which gave them enough of an opportunity to escape." She grabbed one of the angels by the head and glared right into her eyes. "Some of the abominations that escaped you two managed to attack everyone else from behind, and even got some angels injured."
She looked back at the angels who were attacked from behind thanks to those two angels’ careless behavior. "Have fun with them; you’ve got two hours. Or until I call you back. You’ve got one condition: they must cry."
The angels who got injured took the two with them and disappeared into Eris’s blood. Those who were harmed are the ones to punish those responsible for the harm.
Eris then shifted to the next three.
"I won’t even argue with you three. You’ve fought well, but starting fights with your comrades is far too stupid." She looked back at Zia. "Take care of them. I need to understand that all of their personal issues are postponed when a war starts."
Zia approached and glared at the three. "Infighting... and thanks to that, you three almost got killed." She looked back at the angels behind them and pointed at three of them. "You three back there are the ones those three wanted to fight; come forward."
As Zia gathered the six of them, she smiled. "Now, follow me." She waved her hand, and all of them disappeared into a burst of divine magic and blood.
Only four were left for Eris to deal with, and one of those four was the horny and happy-looking one. She approached and sighed. "You, the last one. Get back; I’ll deal with those three first."
The last ranked one backed away, and the other three gulped as Eris approached them. "Let’s see what we have here. First, a suicidal dive bomber... even if you are immortals and won’t die as long as I live, don’t you know how much divine magic it would take to revive you?" She grabbed the first by the hair and punched her in the guts. "Try that again, and I’ll make sure you’ll only feel pain. Speak, got anything to say?"
"Won’t... getting killed in battle give you power?" As the angel asked, Eris dropped her. "Yes, you are right." She immediately stomped on her head. "The funny thing is that the boost isn’t enough to revive you. It’s a net negative!"
She then shifted her gaze to the other two. "And you are even worse." She grabbed them by the necks and lifted them up. "You two actually thought it was a good idea to start a conversation with the abominations and hoped to convince them to retreat, and what did that get you? Almost killed." She started squeezing their necks. "And I know you were trying to trick them, but your acting is bad! It almost cost us the entire battle, and even Amaterasu sent me a warning about it."
She threw them back and approached the last angel, the one who did the worst and was panting in the back with an excited grin on her face. "You..." Eris stared at her, and the angel gasped. "Yes, please."
"I don’t even know where to start with you. You’re strong, fast, and didn’t make any conventional mistakes. But..." She crossed her arms. "You intentionally messed up everything just enough to rank last, hoping to get punished, right?"
"No... I just didn’t do well, that’s all..." The angel looked away, and Eris sighed. "You’re a pain to deal with." She swung her hand and absorbed the angel into her blood. "I’ll deal with her later."
She walked back to her chair and sat down, closing her eyes. "It seems the first void dragon is about to show up."
The massive golden platform outside started burning with divine magic, and all of the angels looked down. An adult void dragon was teleporting in, and to the angels, that was a big deal.
Void dragons are like aircraft carriers or moving bases. Thanks to their vast stomach, they can carry thousands of angels and supplies across vast distances and allow the god’s army to stretch its limbs far into the outer void. Without them, the angels won’t last long and won’t be able to go all out in battles.
As the summoning platform burned, a young man with short black hair and bright purple eyes appeared in the middle. He was tall, standing at nearly seven feet, with a thin but toned body, and looked more smug than a cat.
He looked at his hands, up at the dark void, and then at the angel of Amaterasu who approached him. "Peter Gemi. Specialty is martial arts and ranged spells. Stomach large enough to fit a planet. Medium regeneration, but impressive speed. Total score: 75/100."
The dragon smiled, "Impressive, right?" He looked forward, and the angel nodded. "Indeed, you’ve even finished the training camp quite quickly. But don’t get arrogant; the abominations are far too powerful. We angels will protect you, so please focus on moving and avoid direct conflicts."
The dragon looked almost offended. "I know, I’m not a fool. I’ll leave the defense to you, but I’ll fight if I start getting hit. Do your job well, and I’ll do mine."
The angel nodded. "You don’t have to worry about that most of the time. But..."
He sighed, "I know, this is war, everything can happen. Good to work with you." He extended his hand for a shake, and the angel took it. "Here as well, I’ll be your direct manager."
Eris was watching from afar, and she sighed. "Is that an Adult Void Dragon?"
