The Disfigured Beauty Becomes a Succubus to Repay Her Debt
Chapter 181: Witch’s Feast (2)
Chapter 181 -177: Witch’s Feast (2)
But in Dusk’s stories, the Western Emperor was a foe he had already vanquished.
Excitement! A thrill!
Jin Meiting tied Zhang Shi’ai’s hair into a high ponytail, leaned back slightly, and admired her masterpiece:
“So pretty. This is how you’re meant to look.”
Zhang Shi’ai averted her gaze:
“Am I… really pretty?”
Jin Meiting frowned:
“Go to the fourth floor, Year Three, Class Six. Go and do some work for the Proud Witch.”
‘This girl already has Supernatural Power, so how can she still be so insecure?’
‘Could it be she hasn’t felt the Witch power inside her?’
‘That shouldn’t be possible, should it?’
‘So, Zhang Shi’ai, just how deep does your insecurity run?’
‘No matter. Once she gets to the Proud Witch, even a sow would become confident enough to think she’s a world-class beauty!’
…
Zhang Shi’ai didn’t even know how she made it to the fourth floor.
She was in a daze the whole way.
‘To think that just a few hours ago, I was a jinx, unloved by my father and unwanted by my mother.’
‘Now, someone loves me. It’s Dusk! It’s the Witch Association!’
A smile unconsciously crept onto Zhang Shi’ai’s lips.
‘The school has something as terrifying as the Western Emperor’s Curse?’
‘What does it matter?’
‘If I die, I die.’
‘The important thing is that someone loves me!’
“Look at that ugly smile. I have no idea what you’re so pleased with yourself about.”
An icy voice cut in.
Zhang Shi’ai froze for a moment and looked up.
An ice queen stood at the entrance to Year Three, Class Six.
With just one glance, she knew this had to be the Proud Witch.
Zhang Shi’ai instinctively lowered her head and walked timidly before the Proud Witch:
“Sister Proud, Sister Jealousy sent me to help you.”
The Proud Witch looked Zhang Shi’ai up and down, her expression full of disdain:
“You? What help could you possibly be to me?”
Zhang Shi’ai’s insecurity surged back, and she twisted her hands together anxiously:
“I… I… I can do anything.”
The Proud Witch snorted derisively.
Zhang Shi’ai was mortified, her face flushing beet red with shame.
She had just joined the Witch Association, after all, and needed to get on good terms with the senior members. Steeling herself, she desperately searched for something to say:
“Why aren’t you going inside the classroom?”
The moment the words left her mouth, Zhang Shi’ai regretted them.
‘I’m really just grasping at straws here. What business is it of mine whether she goes into the classroom or not?’
‘Sister Proud probably won’t even bother to answer me.’
But to her surprise, the impossibly cold Proud Witch actually deigned to reply.
The Proud Witch glanced into the classroom with a look of contempt:
“A pack of stupid pigs. Vermin. Absolutely disgusting.
Sharing the same air as them makes me want to vomit.
I absolutely cannot stand being in the same room with them.”
The Proud Witch’s eyes darted to Zhang Shi’ai as an idea struck her:
“Why don’t you go in and handle them for me? I really can’t be bothered to speak to them.”
Zhang Shi’ai blinked, taken aback:
“You won’t speak to them, but you’re willing to speak to me?”
Her train of thought was a bit strange.
She was just desperate for validation from others.
The Proud Witch looked down and frowned at her:
“You’re a stupid pig, just like them.”
Zhang Shi’ai kept her head down:
“Alright. I’ll handle them for you, Sister.”
Zhang Shi’ai felt a bizarre power stirring within her.
‘Managing a class of students shouldn’t be too much of a problem, right?’
As Zhang Shi’ai started walking toward the classroom, the Proud Witch’s voice followed her.
“However, you do have the face of a femme fatale, which is at least easier on the eyes.”
Her tone was still just as disdainful as before.
Zhang Shi’ai shuddered.
It was the first time anyone had ever called her beautiful.
‘Sister Proud might have a bad temper and a foul mouth…’
‘But…’
‘She called me beautiful!’
‘There was nothing insincere about Sister Proud’s compliment.’
‘It was as if she was earnestly applying a label to a person.’
‘And that label was fact.’
‘If she said someone was beautiful, they were beautiful. If not, they weren’t.’
‘Average was average, and gorgeous was gorgeous.’
‘She said I was on the level of a femme fatale, so that’s what I am!’
The confidence that had been locked away inside Zhang Shi’ai for seventeen years suddenly burst forth.
‘I’m a siren, the kind who can bring ruin to a nation!’
Zhang Shi’ai turned to look back at the Proud Witch and broke into a captivating smile:
“Thank you, Sister.”
The Proud Witch frowned deeply, confused:
“I have no idea what you’re thanking me for, but you look even better when you smile.”
With that, the Proud Witch waved her hand impatiently:
“Hurry up and get to work. Stop trying to cozy up to me.”
Zhang Shi’ai quickly strode into the classroom.
…..
This was a class she was very familiar with.
The girls who bullied her and the boys who spread indecent rumors about her were all from this class.
It was the most notorious class in the entire school, full of delinquents.
The classroom was currently in chaos.
Some students were roughhousing, others were playing on their phones, and a few young couples were kissing for all to see.
Worst of all, a few tall boys were bullying a timid-looking boy in a back corner of the classroom.
They had indeed quieted down when the Proud Witch was there earlier.
But when the Proud Witch, thoroughly annoyed by them, stepped out for some air, they reverted to their usual behavior.
Zhang Shi’ai stood on the podium, her eyes turning grim as she looked toward the back of the classroom.
That meek boy reminded her so much of her former self.
Zhang Shi’ai frowned:
“That’s enough! Sun Bailun! Li Tian! What do you think you’re doing?!”
Her voice was loud enough that everyone fell silent.
Sun Bailun and Li Tian stared at Zhang Shi’ai in astonishment.
They were the ones who had given Zhang Shi’ai her nickname, ‘Dairy Cow’.
‘Why is this cow acting so different today?’
‘Did she get prettier or something?’
‘How did I never notice she was this good-looking?’
‘Is it because she tied her hair up?’
‘Well, if she’s pretty, that just makes her more fun to bully.’
Sun Bailun grabbed the younger boy’s hair, smirking at Zhang Shi’ai:
“What, did you two sleep together last night? Why else would you be so concerned about him?”
Zhang Shi’ai ignored him, looking straight at the younger boy:
“Can you stop being so weak!
When he hits you, hit him back!”
These words were meant for herself as well.
The younger boy paid no mind to Zhang Shi’ai’s words, his eyes fixed on Sun Bailun, his face full of terror.
Li Tian, realizing he could get a rise out of Zhang Shi’ai by bullying this kid, found his entertainment.
Li Tian reached out and humiliatingly patted the younger boy’s cheek:
“You like having some broad stick up for you, huh? You’re pathetic!”
The younger boy looked up at Zhang Shi’ai, a trace of shame in his eyes.
Of course, Zhang Shi’ai knew what the boy was thinking and the helplessness hidden in his gaze.
Some people are just raised that way.
Don’t fight. Don’t make a scene.
If you get into trouble, your family can’t afford the consequences.
If you don’t bother others, they won’t bother you; one hand can’t clap on its own.
It’s precisely this kind of idealistic thinking that fuels the arrogance of evil people.
Once you get used to being bullied, you just get used to it.
Zhang Shi’ai said softly,
“This isn’t you being a coward. I know. I’ll help you.”
For some reason, her gentle tone became strangely enthralling, enough to make one’s bones tingle.
A heat began to build in Zhang Shi’ai’s lower abdomen. The power of the Witch was brewing.
The younger boy stared blankly at Zhang Shi’ai.
‘A beautiful girl is encouraging me! How can I let her be shamed because of me?!’
Tears streamed from the younger boy’s eyes.
Tears of grievance, anger, and indignation.
Driven by that bizarre power, an endless rage exploded violently in his chest!
