The Devil's Sweetheart

Leena was enchanted watching Regina simmering in anger to the point that her inner self was doing a happy dance. A satisfied smile was docked on her face when Regina tried to greet Devin but he ignored her and strolled into the private lift along with her.

"I don't like her, Devin. You should be a little careful around that woman. She gives me all creepy vibes." Leena started. She feels that Regina is something up her sleeves. Leena doesn't want to concede but Regina's designs are the real deal. If her behavior was doing well, she would have accepted her.

"Are you jealous?" Devin chuckled igniting the engine. He doesn't want Leena to get jealous but right now he was finding her cute and he did not want to miss the opportunity to tease her. A little jealousy is healthy in a relationship because it shows that she cares for him.

"I am not jealous but I will punch every girl in the face if they give you a second look."

"That's my girl. You never cease to amaze me." With one hand controlling the steering, his other hand grabbed her arm and kissed the knuckles. "But don't worry about her. She is not even worthy of your jealousy, Leena. Have trust in me."

"That I do." She swore with a smile and by the time their talks ended, they were in a high-end restaurant. When Leena saw the name of the restaurant, her face was filled with wonder all of a sudden.

"Le Notre dame! How did you manage to get a table? I mean, you just told me that you would take me to a restaurant right?" She asked in a stupor. To dine in Le Notre dame, one has to reserve at least a month before.

"By now you should know that I am good at everything." He winked.

"Now tell me the truth." Leena did not buy his answer.

"Can't you praise me at least once, Monster?" Devin pinched her cheeks scolding her under his breath. "My uncle owns it. As a family member, I have privileges."

"What? Callison Moreau is your uncle?" The sudden revelation has knocked the socks out of Leena. He is the most loved chef and none can forget the signature unique dishes he makes. "I want to meet him once."

"When I take you home, I will introduce you to him." Seeing her bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, the smile on his face became ardent.

"Thank you babylicious. But is it alright if we get down together?" Remembering their deal, she suddenly asked. "What if the media_"

"It's highly secured and not even a word will travel from here." Devin wanted to announce their relationship to the world as soon as possible but Leena wanted to inform their families first before taking it to the media. He did not have any problem with it, so went along with her.

He took her to a private room and ordered all her favorite foods. While Leena was gobbling her food, Devin propped his arm on the table, watching her smiling face. He was glad that their relationship is sailing without any ups and downs. Even if he encounters anything in the future, as long as Leena is by his side, he can fight them.

"I will miss you." He started wiping her lips with a tissue.

"You are talking as if you are leaving me."

"I am going on a business trip to Korea," Devin stated. It was an ongoing project which he has planned to spread the roots of his brand in Asia. So, he has to examine the place and talk with the investors before finalizing it. Their relationship has just started but they are getting temporarily separated for a while. If not the deal was an important one, he would have cancelled but it has to be finalized to kick start.

"Oh! How many days?" Leena asked, her happiness left her face in a shot. She knew as a powerful businessman, he is imposed to travel often for business, but she did not expect it would be too early. I miss him already.

"Perhaps a week. But I will call you every day."

"Okay." She pouted. "You better not forget."

"Ahh...my sweet girl is being so cute now." He cupped her face and slowly pushed his body towards her. Leena involuntarily squeezed her eyes shut. But the anticipating moment did not arrive and when she opened her eyes, a laugh was dancing on Devin's lips. Did he tease me just now and I even puckered my lips that he would kiss me?

"I was trying to remove an eyelash on your check. Were you expecting a kiss?" He was taking the piss out of Leena to further annoy her.

"I_I didn't." She looked away in embarrassment. She thanked all the gods that it was a private dining room and no one has witnessed the scene.

"But you were lips were puckered up as if you were expecting_"

"Stop it, Devin." Leena was about to get up to the storm out of the room but he pulled back and canoodled her. "Don't get mad at me, Leena. I will be away from you for a week."

"Only if you bring the souvenirs when you come back, I will not get mad at you," Leena grumbled settling in his lap. Cheesy idiot. He always has his ways to soften my heart.

"What do you want?" He asked putting his head on her shoulders while his hands nuzzled across her waist. He would not bring the dresses even if she pleads. Her walk-in-closet is filled with all types of clothes to the point that searching a needle in the haystack was better than rummaging for the blanket on that night.

"I will write down the list of things for tonight."

"Alright, Madam."

Right after the office, Devin picked Leena. Since he was going on a business trip fo a week, she allowed him to stay with her for tonight. "I will take you to my family once I am back. Is that fine?"

Leena nodded her head and even she wants to take Devin to her mom when he is back. She has already talked about Devin and even showed his picture when she last visited the hospital and she instantly got a green signal from her mom although she has not met him.

Leena asked a little about his family to know more about them before the meeting and in the middle, she drifted to sleep in his embrace peacefully.

A large mansion stood as if the surrounding nature has embraced it. The outlines of the house were serving to be clear and the leaves of the trees were looking greener welcoming the dawn. It was quiet and peaceful where the people in the house were tucked into sleeping beds and sleep was pooling on their eyelids but they knew it would a short while. Like a shot, a continuous long sad crying sound echoed around them.

Owooooo....Owooooooo.... Owoooooo...

The buzzer in the home jolted them out of deep sleep. With the deep howling sound, everybody in the house jerked with a start.

"Eve, get up. Dad will kick us if we are not present for the class." A man strikingly handsome for his age groaned in frustration with the continuous woofing sound. He tried to wake her wife up but she rolled to the other side incoherently mumbling in her sleep. "Make that howling sound stop, Rick. I am going to kill that old man today."

"Get up, lazy bum before dad increases the volume." He smacked her ass, lifted and threw her into the bathroom to get fresh. When she entered the bathroom, he slumped on the bed to catch a wink for a minute but the whining sound was sending vermins down his spine.

"Can't he come up with something pleasant? Why does it have to be a wolf growl?" Rick cried. He felt like the sound was making him think someone was dead. At first, it was pleasant music and nobody gave a damn about waking up and they even slept peacefully. So, his dad has come with this trick.

While the couple was combatting, another woman in the same house was covering her ears with a pillow to prevent that howling voice from penetrating her ears. "Dad!!! I am going to kill you by myself one day."

"Where did that troublesome husband run off?" She threw her pillow and gazed at her sides but there was no sign of her husband.

"He will face dad's wrath today." Involuntarily she got up and rushed to the bathroom before her dad comes with a wand. In a jiffy, she came back and scrambled to another room to wake up her niece.

In no time, around Fifteen to twenty members were present for a class including the maids and servants of the house waiting for the person to arrive.

Just then a man confidently strolled into the room in his track suits and glanced at the people.. He nodded his head in satisfaction.
