The Devil's Sweetheart

"Who told you that I am in a meeting?" The door was pushed open and entered the strikingly charismatic man. It was frightening to see his dangerous tranquil expression but at the same time intimidating. With the temerity of the voice, Blake trembled, his body shook like a flame ready to be blown away by the wind. He sucked his uneven breath to calm down from the brooding of the fierce man but nothing was helping him for the moment. He didn't expect Devin would know about it. He has planned it way perfectly. How did he know it?

"D_evin..." He turned pale and began to stammered I_I was_

"It's Mr. Wang for you." His ominous voice with an air of aristocratic insouciance was bone-chilling. While Devin treated every employee in the company equally and not establish seniority by age, he has made his employees address everyone with their names even if it is the CEO. But Blake has crossed the limits by cornering his treasure today. Devin hastily approached Leena and held her hand. The airy atmosphere around him cooled down a little when he held her in his arms. With a soft gaze that was only allowed for hers, he added. "How long you have been here?"

"Two hours." Leena was still in shock at the turn of events. So was it a lie that this stupid man told? But why? Even if he doesn't like her, what gall he has to separate me from Devin?

"Two hours?" He chuckled, a sound that was threatening the person in front of him. "Do you know who she is?" His question was calm, but it delivered the warning to Blake.

"I was just trying to keep you busy during office hours." Blake gathered the courage and voiced out his opinion but the moment he gazed into Devin's eyes that have dispersed the color with angriness, he flinched. When Regina went into his room to talk about the final designs, he thought of creating an opportunity. She got to know that she has been liking Devin for a long time and even he felt that she is a suitable partner. So, he wanted to create an opportunity. But he never knew Devin was so protective of this woman to the point that he started criticizing him.

"To the point of fabricating the truth? Or are you in cahoots with someone else?" Devin gnashed his head at Blake, trivializing his eyes at him. When he was working, Regina was in his office showing off the final designs since Harley was in another place. So he didn't have any choice except to bear her perfume smell. At a point in time, he got a call from Harley to check for a file in the office, and in between, she asked if he is busy with Leena. He got confused and when Devin asked further, he got to know that Leena has come to the office to have lunch with him. He instantly left the room and when he came to the guest-chamber room, he heard Blake's voice criticizing Leena. He was enraged and the urge to slice his neck was at the tip of his fingers.

"I_I am sorry. I did not want to lie. I was concerned for_"

"Keep your yap shut!" He snapped.

His gravelly voice not only throbbed Blake, even Leena gulped down a mouthful of saliva. It was the first time she has seen Devin's anger. All the time, she has been seeing his funny and jovial side, and for the first time, she saw it with her own eyes.

"Just because I am lenient, it doesn't mean I have given the decision to involve in my personal affairs. Should I sign a death warrant for your misconduct?" Pulling his mobile, Devin called a number, and he just uttered the word, the person immediately entered the room.

"Devin, you called me for?" Daniel asked entering the room and he could feel the atmosphere in the room was as cold as Antarctica watching Devin's eyes. He glanced at the woman in his arms and he immediately recognized it was Leena. Although he was not there on the day of her arrival, Harley vomited everything. Finally, he was happy that Devin found his soulmate.

"Handle a one-week suspension letter in the name of Mr. Blake Harvey and put the announcement in the bulletin board for all the employees to see. Give them the reason that he has degraded our respected business partner. Each employee should know the consequences of his unethical behavior." His words knocked the stuffing out of Blake. He accepted the one-week punishment but the relations and pacts he built-in WD would be crumbled into pieces if the notice is hanged on the bulletin board. If word goes out to his parents, his dad would kick him out of the house, after all his is a strict military officer.

"I will apologize to Leena, Mr. Wang. Please don't put it on the bulletin board." He looked at Leena with but there was only displeasure on her face. He couldn't believe Devin is criticizing him for such a simple thing.

"The damage is already done." Devin declared and was about to leave, but Leena pulled him and glanced at Daniel. "Uncle Daniel, I heard that you studied Law before joining the business industry."

"Umm...Yes...But how did you know?" Daniel asked. Very few people know about it and how did Leena get a hand on his profile. Even if she has made a knowledge check on him, she shouldn't know.

"I have my ways." She smiled and added. "As I have signed the contract as your model, I am being considered as your patron to this company right?"

"Yes."

"Then I am offended by your company's hospitality today. None have treated me like your pathetic director has behaved today." Leena released herself from Devin and looked at both the men intently. "I have wasted my two hours here waiting, I would have done productive work if I was at the office. I want justice." Leena showed her damsel and distress look. While Devin knew her acting, Daniel was scared that she got seriously hurt with the feelings.

"I deeply apologize for the misconduct and understood what you meant, Leena. I will take immediate action." Daniel enunciated. When Leena asked about the law, he understood, she was informing him that she wanted Blake to be punished according to law.

"I will look forward to it," Leena proclaimed. She wouldn't sit and act pitiful like others if she was offended. If it was a mistake, she would have subdued but Blake has crossed the limits.

Leena turned to face Devin to see any kind of animosity, after all, Balke seems to be close and the employee for a long time.

"You did the right thing." Devin was anticipating she would voice out her opinions. He knew Leena always tries to be the upper hand and she did exactly what he expected.

Blake protested and fought but Daniel dragged him away out of the room to knock some sense on him.

Devin outstretched his hand and took Leena to his office. The moment they entered, he locked the door and asked. "Why didn't you call me?"

"I wanted to surprise you, but who would have known, I would get the surprise?" She teased him.

"I am sorry, sweetheart. There would be no next time. I promise." Devin declared. It was mortifying him when he got to know that she was castigated in his premises.

He wrapped his arms around her lower back while his eyes were docked onto her lips as if ready to devour her. Leena knew this would turn into no good when they were in the office. Before he could capture her lips, she whispered. "No office romance."

"Then can I have outside?" He muttered. Devin was only teasing her and even he was against the office romance. He has prohibited sexual relationships to avoid the negative impact on the work environment. This would show a lot of favoritism when making business deals and as a CEO, he has to stand in that position when he has to decree it.

"Depends on my mood." She added. "I am hungry, Devin. Let's go. Are you making me starve for the whole day?"

"Let's go. I will take you to the best hotel where you can fill your stomach to the fullest." Devin grabbed Leena's hand and pulled her along with him. Right when they reached the elevator, Leena noticed someone waiting, a little distance away from her.

Leena instantly remembered the scene she created in her office. If she had not taken a step and went to meet Devin on that day, she would be forever misunderstanding that Devin has past love. Such a chance, she doesn't want to waste today.

While Leena was in her plans, Regina was seething in anger seeing Leena holding Devin's arms. She wanted to slice her neck and kill her but controlled. She doesn't want to look bad in front of Devin.

She has been planning it for a long time and it's only a little time to claim him.

But to provoke her further, Leena encircled her arms around his waist.
