The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 709-710

Chapter 709: Something’s Not Right?

Demon Realm, border region between the Succubus Territory and the Moon Demon Territory.

A streak of light zipped across the sky at astonishing speed, like a fleeting meteor, disappearing over the horizon.

Inside the light, Shien and his companions were enveloped in a tunnel-like passage, seeing the rapidly changing scenery outside without feeling any vibrations, as if flying on solid ground.

“We’re approaching the border between the Succubus Territory and the Moon Demon Territory,” Liel said, keeping an eye on their location.

After about half an hour, they were about to leave the Succubus Territory and enter the Moon Demon Territory.

“That was fast,” Shien commented.

The Moon Demon Territory occupied the central region of the Demon Realm, bordering the four other Demon Lords’ territories, excluding the Ghost Demon Territory, which was on the outskirts. Therefore, the Demon Lords traveling to Central City in the Moon Demon Territory would be coming from all directions towards the center, the distances roughly equal, with only the Ghost Demon Territory being the furthest, needing to cross another territory first.

But even traveling from the Ghost Demon Territory to the Moon Demon Territory with the crystal pen only took two or three hours.

Being able to travel between territories in such a vast Demon Realm in just a few hours was astonishingly fast.

“Half an hour more to the Moon Demon Territory?” Hart chuckled, then turned to Gray, “You haven’t been to the Moon Demon Territory before, have you?”

“…No,” Gray said after a moment of silence, “I’ve been in the Succubus Territory for over twenty years, rarely even leaving Succubus City.”

He glanced at Shafney, clearly indicating that he came here for her and stayed for over twenty years, always close to her, never wanting to leave.

This made Liel frown, glaring at Gray.

Ses, Sheen, and Hart couldn’t help but look at Shafney, seemingly wanting to observe her reaction.

However, Shafney seemed to have completely ignored their conversation, still yawning, her languid and indifferent demeanor making Gray both disappointed and infatuated, while the others were captivated, wanting to glue their eyes to her.

They didn’t know that Shafney was complaining inwardly.

(I’m so sleepy and tired. I want to lie in bed and sleep.) She still hadn’t recovered from last night’s activities.

(It’s all that guy’s fault, almost exhausting me to death.) She glared at Shien resentfully.

Meanwhile, Shien was looking outside the light tunnel with interest.

“I wonder if I can match the speed of this teleportation with my teleportation at full power.”

He wanted to try. If he unleashed the Holy Sword’s power and used [Samsara of Heaven’s Decree] to enhance his strength, it might be possible.

“I just don’t know if my magic power can handle it.”

Shien thought nonchalantly, not noticing Shafney’s gaze.

“This guy…” Shafney gritted her teeth, seeing his absent-minded look.

Why was he so energetic while she was so tired?

It wasn’t fair!

Shafney didn’t know that Shien was also feeling sore, but not as exhausted as the previous days.

The reason was simple: when he entered Shafney’s room last night, his Holy Sword was unsealed. In other words, he had the Holy Sword’s enhancement last night, increasing his skill levels by ten and greatly amplifying his abilities.

Therefore, although tired, he wasn’t as drained as before.

Shien even thought that the Holy Sword was his greatest asset, truly worthy of being the Hero’s companion artifact.

Shafney, unaware of this, continued to complain, not realizing that her frequent glances at Shien made the others uneasy.

Especially Liel, whose gaze towards Shien was filled with killing intent.

Hart frowned deeply, looking at the stunned Gray, and couldn’t hold back any longer.

“Gray,” he said hesitantly in a low voice, “Don’t you think Master Shafney’s attitude towards that Hero is a bit strange?”

“…It is a bit strange,” Gray said calmly, “Perhaps because he’s the Hero, and also her younger sister’s fiancé, Her Highness wants to show him some extra care.”

“Is it really just extra care?” Hart’s frown deepened, “I don’t think so.”

Gray remained silent.

Seeing this, Hart continued,

“Anyone who knows Master Shafney knows that she wouldn’t treat someone differently just because of their status.”

“So what if he’s the Hero? Haven’t there been Heroes who admired her before? And was their treatment any different from ours?”

“Only this Hero seems to have captured her special attention. She even personally went out of Succubus City to welcome him, acting intimately with him multiple times, without any sense of distance.”

“Would she treat him so differently just because he’s the Dragon Demon’s fiancé, her sister’s future husband?”

“I don’t think that’s Master Shafney’s style.”

Hart’s words had only one meaning.

Gray naturally understood.

But he didn’t want to hear it.

“Alright, stop talking,” he said, his expression still calm.

Unfortunately, Hart didn’t stop.

“Gray,” he finally said the words Gray least wanted to hear, “Do you think Master Shafney has feelings for that Hero…?”

He couldn’t finish his sentence.

“I said, stop talking,” Gray interrupted, his tone firm.

Hart closed his mouth, knowing that Gray understood what he meant.

And precisely because he understood, Gray didn’t want to hear it.

Because if it were true, it would be devastating for him.

“That’s the Succubus, whose beauty reigns supreme in Omnipotence, unparalleled in the three realms, a woman who has never looked at any man,” Gray said, his expression unchanged.

His meaning was clear, he thought the idea was absurd.

“I don’t believe that such a Succubus would favor a man she just met less than a week ago.”

This was what Gray used to convince Hart, or perhaps himself.

However, it was a convincing argument.

“That’s true,” Hart’s frown relaxed unconsciously, “That’s the Succubus. How could she possibly be interested in a human she just met?” He convinced himself with this reasoning.

He didn’t notice that Gray’s gaze had shifted to Shafney, then to Shien, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions.

Ses and Sheen, however, remained silent.

But as they were about to cross the border into the Moon Demon Territory, the two brothers exchanged glances, a strange glint in their eyes.

“Big brother,” Sheen whispered to Ses.

Ses nodded discreetly.

“We’re approaching the designated location,” he said in a deep voice, “Prepare to act.”

Sheen nodded, understanding, but his eyes couldn’t help but glance at Shafney, a hint of reluctance in them.

Ses naturally understood his brother’s thoughts.

“Don’t even think about it,” he said indifferently, “We have no choice.”

These words extinguished all hesitation in Sheen’s heart.

“We have no choice,” he sighed, his heart turning cold.

Soon, magic power began to seep from the two brothers.

This immediately caught everyone’s attention.

“Ses, Sheen, what are you doing?” Liel asked from within the light tunnel.

“Hmm?” Even Shafney, who had been glaring at Shien, looked over, puzzled.

“This is…?” Shien also noticed the brothers’ unusual behavior, his eyes narrowing.

At this moment, Ses and Sheen simultaneously detonated their magic power.

“Bang—!” At the border between the Moon Demon Territory and the Succubus Territory, the streak of light that was about to enter the Moon Demon Territory suddenly trembled and exploded.

Figures tumbled out of the light, appearing in mid-air.

“Master Shafney!” Liel’s cry echoed.

“This is bad!”

“What!?” Gray and Hart’s faces also changed drastically.

Only Shien and Shafney reacted immediately, their figures freezing in mid-air.

“They…” Shien looked at Ses and Sheen, who were falling freely.

“Hmph!” Shafney snorted, looking at them and extending a hand. She was clearly angry.

But just as she was about to capture them, the surrounding environment suddenly changed.

“Weng!” With a tremor in the air, the entire world was dyed a blinding blood-red.

The earth shook.

The sky shook.

Space itself shook.

Everything around them trembled.

Then, a voice echoed,

“I’ve been waiting for you, Succubus Shafney.”

Chapter 710: Crimson Sun Hell

When that aged, raspy voice echoed through the blood-red world, everyone present finally calmed down.

Even Shien raised an eyebrow, ready to watch the show.

Shafney didn’t respond to the voice, but looked around the blood-red world.

Liel, Hart, and Gray, however, moved to Shafney’s side as if protecting her, their faces wary.

“Who…!?” Liel demanded coldly.

“An attacker?” Hart murmured.

“It’s the Old Demon Faction, right?” Gray guessed the other party’s origin immediately.

This wasn’t a difficult guess. After all, no one in the Demon Realm would be foolish enough to attack a Demon Lord. The Demon Lords ruled their respective territories, and their subjects were completely subservient to them. Before their transcendent power, rebellions like those in the Human Realm were impossible. Even if all their subjects rebelled, a Demon Lord could suppress them single-handedly. Therefore, there were no rebellions or usurpations in the Demon Realm.

Moreover, the Demon Lord sisters had a good relationship, without any major conflicts, so territorial disputes were also unlikely.

Under such circumstances, the only ones who would dare to attack a Demon Lord were the Old Demon Faction, who had betrayed the Demon Race.

And it was true.

A gust of wind, smelling of blood, materialized before Shien and the others.

Three figures emerged from the bloody wind.

The leader was an elderly man in simple clothes, holding a cane, his head bald but with a long white beard and eyebrows, looking quite weathered.

Behind him were two middle-aged demons, a man and a woman.

The old man appeared with these two, facing everyone with a smile.

“Greetings, Succubus,” he said, bowing respectfully to Shafney.

Shafney, however, ignored him, simply glancing at him with an indifferent expression.

“Who are you?” Liel asked, as if speaking for Shafney, her gaze towards the old man filled with killing intent.

The pressure she exuded was considerable. After all, Liel was a level ninety-nine expert, only one step away from Limit Level. If she unleashed her killing intent seriously, it would be terrifying.

However, bathed in Liel’s killing intent, the old man remained unfazed, still smiling.

“My name is Parion,” he introduced himself.

“Parion, the Sun Apostle of the Original Demon, an Old Demon Faction, one of the three generals under the leader.”

These words made Liel, Gray, and Hart’s expressions change.

“Original Demon…” Shafney finally looked at Parion, surprise in her eyes.

“Sun Apostle…” Shien’s eyes flickered, and he couldn’t help but think of Machi, whom he encountered in the Tegor Forest.

That troublesome Demon Spirit had said that under the leader of the Original Demon were three Apostles, each with four subordinates, all at least Legendary Level. And below the Apostles were the ordinary soldiers called Envoys.

So…

“Is this Parion one of the three Apostles of the Original Demon?”

Shien narrowed his eyes, activating the appraisal ability of [Outer Awareness of Heaven’s Decree] to check Parion’s level and skills.

At this moment, Liel shouted at Parion furiously,

“Trash of the Original Demon, an Old Demon Faction! It’s you!” she shouted angrily, “You dare to attack Master Shafney!?”

Gray and Hart’s eyes also turned cold.

The Old Demon Faction was hated and opposed by all races. They opposed the peace between the three races, claiming to uphold the Demon King’s will, believing they should return to the era of a thousand years ago and wage war against the God Race and the Human Race.

Therefore, they saw the current Demon Race as a disgrace, believing their surrender and pleas for peace were shameful acts of groveling.

So, they betrayed the Demon Race, calling themselves the Old Demon Faction, and relentlessly caused trouble and destruction for a thousand years, trying to reignite the war between the three races.

They genuinely despised the God Race and the Human Race, even more so the Demon Race, whom they saw as traitors, truly enemies of the world, having harmed all three races, hateful and disgusting beings.

And among these Old Demon Factions, the Original Demon was the oldest, largest, and most mysterious.

“For a thousand years, you’ve repeatedly performed Demonic Refining Rituals in the Demon Realm, harming your own kind, using demons and even your own people as sacrifices to create Demon Lord Larvae, even attempting to create a seventh Demon Lord, doing such filthy and hateful things, and now you dare to appear before us and attack our noble master?”

Liel’s emotions were out of control, her magic power surging and shaking the atmosphere.

Not just Liel, but even Hart lost his composure, his face contorted as his magic power surged.

For demons, the Old Demon Faction were truly hated enemies.

They betrayed the Demon Race, saw them as a disgrace, tarnished their reputation, and caused countless cruel and inhumane incidents over the past thousand years, leading to the Demon Race being condemned by the God Race and the Human Race multiple times.

If it weren’t for them, the Demon Race would have been more accepted by the other two races, and peace would have come more easily.

They destroyed the Demon Race’s hope for peace, acted in the Demon King’s name, and committed despicable acts, making all demons hate them deeply.

Even Shafney’s gaze towards Parion turned cold. Although she wasn’t interested in them, if they were from the Old Demon Faction, and even a Sun Apostle, then even Shafney would want to kill them.

However, facing Liel’s condemnation, Parion’s smile didn’t falter.

“Those were necessary sacrifices, Clan Chief of the Stone Woman Clan,” he said, his words chilling despite his kind appearance.

“As long as we can resurrect the Demon King, restore her glory, and take revenge on the God Race and the Human Race, those sacrifices are just minor matters we can endure with a moment of silence.”

These words made the aura of Liel and the others surge, transforming into a tangible pressure that crashed down on Parion. Even Gray’s face turned cold, his aura no weaker than Liel’s, joining the others.

The combined aura of three top-tier Legendary experts was enough to crush Parion’s aged body.

However, before Parion could react, the two middle-aged demons behind him stepped forward, releasing their own auras. Their auras were surprisingly able to withstand the pressure from Liel, Hart, and Gray.

“Both are level ninety-eight?” Shien immediately discerned their strength. They were only slightly weaker than Liel and Gray, even stronger than Hart.

“Apostles under a Sun Apostle, none of them are simple.”

Machi, as an Apostle, was also level ninety-eight, her strength comparable to Sophie, the Elven Queen. If it weren’t for Shien’s “cheats,” even he wouldn’t have been able to easily defeat her.

Now, these two Old Demon Faction members were no weaker than Machi. Undoubtedly, they were Apostles under Parion, the Sun Apostle.

Of course, although they were strong, Liel, Gray, and even Hart could still contend with them.

However, despite this, their auras were evenly matched.

“This space…” Shien sensed something and looked around.

The superb perception of [Outer Awareness of Heaven’s Decree] told him that this blood-red space was unusual. It completely controlled the surrounding magic power, drawing it towards Parion and the others, enhancing their power and allowing them to withstand the pressure from Liel and the others.

“You…” Liel and the others also sensed something was wrong.

Shafney, who had been observing the blood-red world from the beginning, murmured,

“The effect of a Unique Skill?”

“Your insight is truly remarkable,” Parion said, impressed, chuckling.

“This is a special space created by my Unique Skill. Or rather, it separates the inner and outer spaces, transforming the space within my Unique Skill’s range into my personal ‘hell,’ under my complete control.”

“In this space, I’m practically a god, able to even extract the magic power of this world and use it to enhance myself or my subordinates.”

“This is my Unique Skill – [Crimson Sun Hell].”

As he spoke, a blood-red sun rose, hanging in the middle of this crimson world. Endless magic power was vaporized by the blood sun’s heat, transforming into pure power and increasing the gravity of this space.

“Ugh…!” Liel, Gray, and Hart felt a heavy pressure, almost collapsing.

Shien and Shafney also felt it, but unlike the others, they quickly steadied themselves.

Parion watched this scene, his creepy laughter echoing.

An aura far surpassing Liel and the others emanated from him.

Level one hundred.

This person was a Limit Level expert.
