The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!
Chapter 340: Su Menghao Meets Her Engaged Partner!
"You are very brave, dude," Sam said.
"We are impressed." Tom continued.
"What’s your name?" Bert asked.
"I am Yang Zhen."
Yang Zhen shook hands with each of them.
Afterwards, he bought some fruit snacks before leaving the shop.
Outside, he found Su Roxue waiting for him with a teasing grin.
"Welcome back, my hero."
Yang Zhen scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"I just tried to help. But it seems it was unnecessary. Those four brothers saved him in the end."
"You’re wrong."
Su Roxue shook her head with a smile.
"It’s your kind heart that matters. So many people were watching, but you were the first one to step forward. In my eyes, you were the true hero."
Yang Zhen was stunned by her words.
He hadn’t expected her to see things from that perspective.
After a brief pause, a slight smile appeared on his face.
"Do you want to eat mine too? I really don’t have enough room left to eat more."
"Then why did you buy it?"
"To accompany you while eating."
"Hahaha! You’re so silly."
Su Roxue laughed before accepting the snacks.
"Fine, I’ll eat them. But don’t force yourself next time."
"I won’t."
The two continued walking together.
Somehow, the little incident at the fruit snack shop had erased the invisible sense of distance that had existed between them.
At this moment, Yang Zhen was genuinely beginning to treat Su Roxue as a friend, rather than simply as Su Menghao’s cousin.
---
Meanwhile, after running for a short distance, the wild caveman finally stopped and cursed under his breath looking offended.
"Damn! Those ignorant fools!"
"Instead of being grateful and begging this Medicine Master for treatment, they would rather treat me like a sham! They will regret it!"
His expression darkened as he recalled the incident.
"Especially those four muscleheads and that sissy in luxurious clothes. The next time I see them, I’ll have to teach them a lesson."
However, after a moment, his attention shifted.
"But first, let’s find the meeting place."
Thinking of this, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a photograph.
The moment he saw the woman in the picture, a foolish grin appeared on his face, and a little drool gathered at the corner of his mouth.
"What a beauty!"
His eyes practically sparkled.
"You truly are the best, Master! You even arranged such a beautiful fiancée as a graduation gift for me!"
He carefully looked at the photograph one more time before putting it back into the only intact pocket of his ragged clothes.
"Since I’ve come to this country as you suggested, I, David, your disciple, promise I won’t let you down."
With renewed enthusiasm, he looked around and stopped a passing pedestrian.
The moment the passerby saw him approaching, his expression immediately became defensive.
"I don’t have any change!"
David froze.
His expression darkened.
"I am not a beggar! I’m just asking for directions!"
The passerby looked him up and down suspiciously. "Ask."
"Where is Malein Fountain?"
"Go straight, then turn left."
After getting the answer, David snorted and walked away.
The passerby watched his retreating figure before muttering under his breath.
"What a weird guy."
His expression then became dejected as he continued walking.
"I’m sorry to disappoint you, Sister Rui."
Yes, this passerby was none other than Lin Fan, who had recently resigned from his new job as Lin Yaorui’s assistant.
---
Lin Fan’s situation aside. For now, let’s focus back on David.
After learning the direction, it didn’t take him long to find Malein Fountain.
A huge fountain stood at the center of the square, surrounded by people coming and going.
David looked around.
’Is this Malein Fountain? She should be nearby.’
His eyes narrowed.
It was as though some mysterious beauty radar had suddenly activated inside him.
His gaze swept across the surroundings.
One woman after another was eliminated from consideration.
Until finally...
His eyes locked onto the most beautiful woman in the area.
’Found her!’
Su Menghao was standing beside a Bugatti parked near the fountain, repeatedly checking her watch with an increasingly impatient frown.
David’s eyes widened.
’She looks even more beautiful than in the photograph.’
An arrogant grin spread across his face.
He straightened his back and confidently walked toward her.
"Menghao~"
Su Menghao, who had been staring at her watch in annoyance, suddenly froze.
A hint of anger appeared on her face.
’Who dared to call her name so intimately?’
She turned around, ready to confront the person.
But the moment she saw David, her mind went blank.
David saw her stunned expression and immediately smirked.
’As expected. She’s completely dazed by my handsomeness.’
However, his smugness lasted only a moment.
"Where did you come from, you beggar? And how do you know my name?"
Su Menghao questioned him warily.
Her hand had already slipped into her handbag, searching for the pepper spray.
David was stunned.
’Beggar? Me?’
’How dare this woman?!’
He almost exploded on the spot.
But after looking at her beautiful face, he quickly calmed himself.
’Forget it. She’s my fiancée, after all. I can give her some slack.’
Besides, when he looked down at himself, he realized that his current appearance wasn’t exactly flattering.
’Well... I suppose she can’t be blamed for mistaking me for a beggar.’
"I am David, the person you’re waiting for."
He paused, then continued with a grin. "Your engaged partner."
Su Menghao’s eyes widened.
What the heck did this beggar just say?
My engaged partner? Who is he kidding?
But before she could say anything, David reached into his clothes and pulled out a pendant.
The moment Su Menghao saw it, her expression changed.
It was the exact same pendant shown in the photograph her grandfather had sent her.
Her eyes seemed to lose their luster.
Is... this real?
The person Grandfather chose for me to engage is this beggar?
No! Even an actual beggar would look more civilized than him!
This guy is practically a wild caveman!
