The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!
Chapter 339: Caveman!
Outside the fruit snack shop.
When Yang Zhen and Su Roxue arrived, they found a large crowd gathered outside the shop. Everyone had surrounded a strange-looking man standing in the middle of the commotion.
The man had a bulky, rugged figure that made him look more like a wild beast than an ordinary person. His long, unkempt hair was tangled and matted, while an equally messy beard covered most of his lower face.
His clothes looked as though they had not been washed in years. They were faded, torn in several places, and covered in dirt, with numerous signs of wear and tear. His trousers were worn thin around the knees, and his bare feet were blackened with grime.
He looked like a caveman who had somehow wandered straight out of the mountains and into the city.
"Huh? Is someone cosplaying as a caveman?" Su Roxue muttered.
"That guy..."
Yang Zhen stared at the man with a slight frown.
"What’s wrong? Do you know him?" Su Roxue asked, noticing his reaction.
"Not really. It’s just that this guy gives me the same disgusting feeling as that Ye Chen guy."
"That wanted criminal?"
Su Roxue’s eyes widened. Even hearing that name made her feel disgusted.
She looked at the strange man curiously.
"I wonder what’s happening here?"
The aunt standing beside her overheard her and immediately leaned closer, speaking in a gossiping tone.
"You two just arrived, girl. That wild man is simply outrageous. He ate enough food for more than a dozen men at the shop and then tried to leave without paying."
"Oh? How so?"
"When the shopkeeper asked him to pay, he said he had no money. Instead, he offered to give the shopkeeper a free diagnosis in exchange for the food."
"The shopkeeper told him there was no need for that and only asked him to pay."
"But that wild man wouldn’t listen. He pushed the shopkeeper onto the floor, grabbed his wrist, and took his pulse. Then he declared that the shopkeeper had weak kidneys."
"The shopkeeper became so angry that his face turned red, and that’s when this whole commotion started."
Su Roxue and Yang Zhen were both stunned.
What an outrageous turn of events.
"Help me! This guy wants to kill me!"
The terrified scream came from the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper’s face had turned pale when he saw the wild man pull out a small surgical knife—a scalpel.
"Please don’t kill me! You don’t need to pay! You can take whatever you want!"
"Stop moving around! I’m just giving you surgery!"
The wild man grabbed the shopkeeper with one hand and tried to drag him toward the table.
The onlookers were even more shocked by his audacity.
Yang Zhen’s sense of justice couldn’t allow him to simply stand by and watch someone get hurt.
"Stop right there! Don’t you dare hurt him!"
The wild man glanced at Yang Zhen and snorted.
"What’s it to you? I’m just saving this person in exchange for the food."
Yang Zhen stared at him for a moment before realising that something was seriously wrong with this man’s way of thinking.
"I won’t let you hurt him while I’m here."
There was no point wasting words on a psycho.
Yang Zhen immediately signalled his bodyguards to move forward and stop him.
However, the bodyguards weren’t even needed.
The moment Yang Zhen stepped forward, the other onlookers with a sense of justice also followed his lead.
Several uncles and aunts moved forward, while four particularly bulky men wearing sleeveless T-shirts rushed ahead. They looked more like bodybuilders or hunks than ordinary customers, but all four had the same determined expression as they moved to pull the shopkeeper away from the wild man.
"That’s enough, dude!" the first hunk said.
"What are you doing?" Second hunk continued.
The wild man became annoyed and raised his fists as if he intended to beat them up.
But when he saw the shopkeeper already being surrounded and protected by several people, he stopped.
"I am a doctor. I just want to help him."
"Do you have a medical certificate?" Yang Zhen asked.
The wild man glared at him.
Then, turning toward the crowd, he said, "...Listen to my explanation."
"No need. You can explain yourself to the police," the third hunk said.
"I’ve already called them." The fourth hunk raised his phone.
The wild man’s expression immediately turned ugly.
He took several steps back before trying to explain himself.
"It’s all a misunderstanding. That shopkeeper has weak kidneys. I only wanted to cure him."
"Cure him on a snack table?" the first hunk said.
"You take us for fools?" Second hunk added.
The wild man glared at everyone, but his eyes lingered on Yang Zhen for a moment longer.
Then, without another word, he turned around and ran.
"Stop him! He’s escaping!" Third Hunk shouted.
Unfortunately, the wild man was far too fast.
Despite his bulky figure and ragged appearance, he moved with astonishing speed. By the time anyone reacted, he had already disappeared down the street.
Yang Zhen and one of the bulky men helped the shaken shopkeeper back onto his feet.
"Thank you, everyone, for saving my life."
"It’s alright. Anyone would have done the same."
Yang Zhen shrugged before pointing toward the four men.
"They were the ones who helped the most."
The shopkeeper nodded before turning toward the four brothers with a grateful smile.
"Sam, Tom, Bert, Ron. Thank you all."
"It’s alright, boss. Your snacks are tasty." Sam said.
"If something had happened to you, where would we go to eat in the future?" Tom continued.
"We can’t lose our favorite snack shop." Bert added.
"That’s right." Ron nodded.
The four brothers grinned together.
The shopkeeper couldn’t help but smile.
"You guys know each other?" Yang Zhen asked.
The shopkeeper nodded.
"These four brothers are foreign students studying here. They often come to my shop."
"I see."
Yang Zhen nodded.
The four brothers looked at Yang Zhen with appreciation.
