Chapter 641 - Dragon's Pride
Chapter 641 – Dragon’s Pride
“Oh..” The chubby man looked at the token in Qingyi’s hands and smiled, his eyes sparkling.
“Senior Brother Qingyi is truly blessed! Come on, I’ll show you our premium ships!” He laughed, guiding Qingyi through a massive hangar.
There were many different types of ships there.
Some were hundreds of meters long, designed for cargo or passenger transport.
Others were small, with room only for the pilot, while some, though still lightweight, could accommodate entire families.
“So, what kind of ship does Brother Qingyi need? We have some that even allow travel between multiple star systems, though the most advanced ones, capable of reaching the central regions, are limited within the sect main palace.”
Qingyi looked at the many ships around him until, suddenly, his eyes fell on one in particular.
It wasn’t a warship or a transport, but rather a luxurious cruise ship. And it wasn’t just any cruise ship either.
Its cannons were capable of blowing up asteroids, and its powerful barrier could protect against any expert below the Star Sovereign realm, even withstanding the blow of one if all energy were allocated to the shields.
It was about sixty meters from the sleek, beautiful cabin to the powerful twin engines at the rear.
“What about this one?” Qingyi asked.
It was like seeing a Ferrari in the middle of a bunch of economy cars. Well, in this case, a yacht in the middle of a bunch of fishing boats.
Obviously, it drew attention. Especially for Qingyi, who saw relaxing with his wives as a priority.
“Oh… this is our most luxurious model. It costs a few million celestial spirit crystals, and technically, only noble families can purchase it, but since the sect leader himself ordered it… let’s take a look at it.”
The chubby man smiled, sending a voice transmission to someone on the upper floors.
Apparently, he was rejected, and his anger erupted.
Fortunately, it didn’t take long for permission to come through.
Who in the Cosmic Dawn Sect would dare to deny someone sent by the sect leader himself? The most powerful expert in that entire region?
After all, almost all the staff there were sect disciples and viewed the leader almost as a god.
“Come on, senior brother! Don’t be fooled by the luxury, this ship is a true war machine! Even our best combat models of similar weight can’t compare!”
Qingyi just nodded as he followed the chubby man.
He had no interest in the ship’s combat capabilities. What he wanted to know was about the comfort and, of course, the speed.
After all, if it was too slow, it would be better to just fly on his own.
With a big smile, the chubby guy showed Qingyi everything.
The ship was spacious, with a modern kitchen, a dining room, and several dormitories. The central suite was gigantic, with a bed big enough for an entire harem, a luxurious spiritual pool, and a cockpit that almost made Qingyi drool.
That was the one!
Sitting in the pilot’s seat, his fingers wrapped around the controls that connected him directly to the ship, and a smile spread across his face.
This was it.
He still remembered when he bought his first Mustang on Earth. The roar of the engines, the torque of the tires…
That was how he felt now, but with a ship capable of wiping out entire civilizations on Earth with its cannons, so expensive that even the richest man on his former planet wouldn’t be able to afford even the engines.
Mainly because of technological limitations, of course.
“It’s going to be this one, my friend.” Qingyi handed the token to the chubby man, whose eyes shone brightly.
The salesman received a commission for each sale, but ships like this were usually custom-made.
It was the first time he’d sold something so expensive!
He could hardly imagine how hefty his commission would be.
With a beaming smile, he guided Qingyi to his office, where the transaction was completed and the token, its credit now spent, was deactivated.
“Congratulations on your purchase, Senior Brother Qingyi! What name will you choose for her?” The chubby man handed over the key
and the ship’s documentation.
The handsome young man thought for a moment, scratching his chin.
What name would be fitting for a ship like this?
Admiring the black and light gray contours of its elegant fuselage, he
smiled.
At the top of it, two structures rose up, like the horns of a black
dragon.
“The Dragon’s Pride.” He finally spoke, extending the key toward the
ship.
Immediately, an intense glow spread across the fuselage, and writing appeared on its surface.
The Dragon’s Pride.
The chubby man clapped his hands excitedly, not stopping to praise Qingyi’s choice for even a second as the ship was taken to a launch
pad.
He was, after all, not only a coward but also a huge flatterer.
And one who knew very well how to strike gold.
He had hoped to receive a large tip from Qingyi, but in the end, he
was disappointed.
Well… the commission was good enough.
Silently, Qingyi stepped into his ship, the hatch closing behind him
with a soft click.
The sound of his footsteps echoed through the wide main corridor as he walked to the pilot’s seat, where he sat down.
Immediately, the seat swiveled.
The tinted glass of the cockpit lit up, and beneath him, a control
console emerged, with a joystick similar to an airplane’s rising between his legs.
His fingers wrapped around the joystick, and the massive engines of
the Dragon’s Pride came to life, a bluish flame roaring as Qi coursed through each of them.
The vibration of the engines coursed through the entire ship, rising
up through the seat to his bones.
Then, he took off.
He pointed the ship’s sharp nose toward the skies and accelerated.
His body was crushed against the seat by the absurd acceleration. The clouds in the black sky drew closer before being torn apart in a single
second.
It was fast. Fucking fast.
Much faster than the ship he had rented before.
In less than three seconds, Qingyi reached the high orbit of the
Aurora planet.
“Ah…” He sighed, his lips curving wider and wider.
It was… wonderful.
Indeed, having a rich father-in-law was really great!
