Chapter 640 Difficult choice
Chapter 640 Difficult choice
Qingyi spoke with the sect leader for a moment, touching on countless topics.
Fortunately, the sect leader was not an arrogant man and was, in fact, quite easy to talk to; he didn’t even seem like such a powerful expert.
Qingyi told him about the mortal and immortal heavens, even mentioning the demons he had faced in the region, though he kept much of it hidden.
What was he supposed to say?
That he had faced the first of the seventy-two demon lords, the Heavenly Demon, and emerged victorious?
No one would believe him, and on top of that, they’d call him crazy.
Even though Qingyi suppressed much of the true epic of his journey, Rou’er listened to everything with shining eyes.
Her big brother was without a doubt the most incredible man who had ever set foot in that sect.
Fighting alone against thousands of demons from the same realm as him…
Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever.
After a few more minutes of conversation, it was time for Qingyi to leave, leaving a sad Rou’er behind.
Thankfully, they had talked at length.
The sect leader appreciated the humility Qingyi displayed and was even more pleased to see his once-shy adopted daughter adore him so much.
The only thing that wiped the smile from his face was the certainty that the choice, from now on, would be much more difficult.
He had already promised too much to withdraw without tarnishing his own honor, and the Guo family was far more powerful than it appeared.
Unaware of what was going on in the sect leader’s heart, Qingyi walked through the central palace and made his way out.
His eyes rose to the night sky, and with a slight movement of his feet, he vanished.
When he reappeared, he was at the tavern where he used to drink with Chen Wei.
Watching the already drunk young master of the Chen family, Qingyi smiled.
Many eyes fell upon him, filled with doubt. What kind of spatial artifact was he using?
Qingyi ignored them all.
“Come on, use your Qi to clear your mind. We’re just getting started drinking now!” Qingyi said, patting Chen Wei on the shoulder.
When the young Master Chen lifted his head, his gaze fell on Qingyi’s neck, where he saw a lipstick mark.
He had studied it thoroughly and discovered the color of the lipstick Rou’er wore…
That was the same color, wasn’t it?
“Master Qingyi… Senior…” Chen Wei clung to his martial brother’s robes. “Teach me your path and offer your insight to this ignorant soul trapped in darkness!”
Qingyi roared with laughter.
“I’ll trade your mother for my secrets, if she’s hot.”
Chen Wei’s vision went dark.
“Can I talk to my father first?” he asked tearfully, drawing another laugh from Qingyi.
“Well, wouldn’t he whip you for something like that? My father certainly would, hahaha.”
Chen Wei just nodded in confirmation.
He wasn’t crazy enough to ask his father for something like that.
“Ah…” Qingyi relaxed as a servant approached the two of them, handing them a bottle of liquor they shared.
Chen Wei was a good friend.
A little silly, but he wasn’t a coward.
Qingyi knew he was willing to die for those he loved, and he respected that.
Taking a sip of the liquor, Qingyi accessed his spatial ring and studied the many items he had received as part of the Yan family inheritance.
There should be something in there that would be good for Chen Wei, right?
After a moment of rummaging, Qingyi finally found what he was looking for.
Chen Wei liked spears, and among the Yan family’s techniques, there was one called the Wind Tiger Spear Technique, accompanied by a spear of similar value that matched it perfectly.
“Open your spatial ring,” Qingyi said, earning a strange look from Chen Wei.
With a confused expression, Chen Wei obeyed, and his eyes filled with shock as he saw the items Qingyi had placed in his spatial ring.
“Cultivate well and defeat that young Master Yao with your own
power.”
Chen Wei turned to thank him, but Qingyi had already left.
Alone, he could only sigh.
He had been accepted!
He had been accepted as a disciple of the great master Long Qingyi!

While Chen Wei celebrated, Qingyi walked silently through the streets of the city surrounding the Celestial Fairy Pavilion.
Obviously, he hadn’t taken any disciples.
Why would he? He was too young for such things.
After a moment’s reflection, Qingyi began his journey to the sect’s
shipyards.
It was late at night, but cultivators didn’t need to sleep for months and could work at any hour, without stopping.
Still, the shipyards’ customer service would close in about two hours,
so Qingyi quickened his pace.
Soon, he arrived at a massive industrial complex north of the main palace, with miles and miles of production lines.
From light transport ships to freighters and, more rarely, battleships
with cannons capable of shattering moons, that place produced
everything.
Although owned by the sect, the place functioned as a dealership
focused on the private sale of ships, supported by various merchant
pavilions and even supplying ships to other sects. Obviously, the Cosmic Dawn Sect had priority, but they sold ships privately as well.
When Qingyi appeared in the central hall of the enormous industrial complex, observing the many ships on display, he was immediately greeted by a pleasant, chubby man, the same one who had rented him the ship when he went on his last mission.
The chubby man rushed over to Qingyi, his face full of excitement.
“Oh… Senior Brother Qingyi, what a pleasure to see you here! How can I help you?” The chubby man laughed.
“I’m glad my prayers and positive thoughts helped you overcome your
crisis!”
Qingyi was confused by those words for a moment.
What the hell did that mean?
In the end, he concluded that the chubby guy had gone retarded.
Still, he remained respectful.
“I need a spaceship. Can you show me the best models? Don’t worry
about the price; I’m not the one paying.” Qingyi smiled, revealing the
token he’d received from the sect leader.
How nice it was to have rich in-laws…
Well, they couldn’t complain.
Qingyi repaid kindness twofold and evil tenfold.
Now, it was time to choose his spaceship.
