The Broken Halo

Chapter 542: Announcement

The slaves of the Shadowgrave Clan and the King of the Slaves.

A vast majority of the demons in the Shadowgrave Clan had no idea that one of Simon’s title was the King of the Slaves.

The slaves were not just Simon’s eyes and ears, they were his followers in a completely strange way.

Many of them do not believe in him like how humans believe in their gods.

Many don’t trust him.

Many don’t see him as their saviour.

And many don’t see him as their helper.

No.

The main reason why many slaves regarded Simon as their king is because they believed that he was the only slave that had the courage and insanity to cause chaos to the Shadowgrave Clan.

A lot of slaves hated the Shadowgrave Clan as a whole, and some had even more hatred for some specific clan members.

All they wanted was for the clan to crumble and be burned to the ground.

And Simon had no problem with this at all.

Through Brama and a few other slaves, he got to know some slaves that had access to certain key locations in the clan.

Some of these slaves were usually demonesses who were used by some powerful demons of the clan as sex toys and playthings.

There were also demons who suffered similar fates or even worse fates, and they were all the slaves of some powerful and important demons.

Some slaves were working in the watchtowers that overlooked the ravine.

Some maintained the bridges that connected different districts of the clan.

Some cleaned the residences of powerful clan members.

Some worked in storage halls, training grounds, workshops, and even patrol stations.

The slaves were everywhere. They were invisible to many clan members. They were ignored like the ants and stones one steps on.

Yet, these slaves saw more than most people realized.

And today, many of them had chosen to act.

Many organizations were like this.

They completely ignored the grassroots, the bottom barrel, believing that they had no power or ability to cause damage to an organization.

But one must not forget.

The reason why mortals fall sick... is because of tiny living organisms they could not see.

With a little convincing, manipulation, and money, Simon was able to make use of the slaves.

Smoke rose from different parts of the Shadowgrave Clan.

A watchtower near the upper cliffs had been reduced to a burning ruin.

One of the suspended platforms had cracked apart, sending chunks of stone plunging into the endless mist below.

A section of a bridge had collapsed, forcing dozens of demons to retreat.

Fire spread across rooftops.

Alarm bells rang throughout the ravine.

Demons and demonesses rushed through the suspended streets while others leapt between balconies and terraces to investigate the source of the explosions.

The orderly clan had become chaotic in the span of a few breaths.

And hidden among the confusion, many slaves quietly watched the destruction they had caused.

Some smiled.

Some laughed.

Some cried.

Some of the explosions that occurred were due to explosives that had been placed weeks ago by the slaves.

Some were done by slaves who became bombs themselves and destroyed their source of pain and suffering with a smile.

They died while carrying out their duties.

Some explosives were planted not too long ago after being instructed by Akaza.

Some of the slaves knows that they would most likely be caught and punished by the clan for doing this, but they didn’t care.

They would rather live with the memories of seeing the clan go up in flames than continue to live the life of suffering, pain, disgrace, and torture they had been living for years.

For the first time in a very long time, they felt that the mighty Shadowgrave Clan was bleeding.

From the top of the ravine to the bottom of the ravine, flames burned across the cliffs and bridges.

Stone debris, metal debris, wood debris, and corpses fell.

Black Midnight saw everything from his position, and his expression could not help but darken.

"The slaves?"

"Boy. I was planning on taking it easy on you and taking my time with you, but you’ve gone too far."

Black Midnight’s eyes flashed with a calculating glint, then he looked at his Grave Mark and spoke.

"The slave and Initiate called Broken Halo has broken the laws of the clan and is attempting to escape the clan. Stop him and arrest him."

"He’s escaping with five other Initiates. Arrest all of them. They are the masterminds behind this chaos."

"Whoever that arrests Broken Halo would be rewarded with a million low grade hell stones."

The ravine which was filled with the sound and noises of the chaos the slaves brought upon the clan suddenly became quiet.

Black Midnight’s voice echoed across the clan, and it was loud enough for everybody to hear it.

Some demons and demonness who nearly killed some of the slaves that caused the explosions, some demons that believed that another clan was attacking them, some demons that barely survived the explosions, and so many other demons had shocked expressions behind their masks.

Every single statement of the Grave Lord shocked them.

Broken Halo was trying to escape?

He’s the mastermind behind this chaos?

Five other demons are also trying to escape?

And the reward... The reward made the eyes of so many clan members shine with greed and desire.

To some demons who were rich like Simon and Sunless, one million low grade hell stones was nothing to them.

But this amount was a lot of money to so many demons.

Even some slaves were tempted by this amount.

It took less than five seconds for the entire clan to erupt with even more chaos, and many demons began to look for Simon and his companions.

In a room that screamed luxury, Caesar looked at his window with a deep frown. In front of him was the spatial ring that was taken from Simon.

"He’s trying to escape?"

A flicker of surprise, intrigue, and anger flashed in Caesar’s eyes.

Then he stood and walked out of the room.
